Great good stuff
We dine a lot and we like the place. It was the worst service the other day. We were waiting on the dish and asked the waiter for the status. He came back to us saying the chef says it already should be served, Did you really not having it.
He made us feel like we are telling the lie or something.
Not cool.
The service was good but the food was OUTSTANDING!!!
The Shrimp Toast, Brussels Sprouts Tempura and a lot of other dishes just to name a few. Delicious...
I have visited this restaurant in the past. I have to say I liked to old menu better with fresh vegetables and special meals. This time it was OK. I like the variety of the skewered proteins they have but I wish it was marinated better.
Robata Jinya was one of my go-to izakaya places on the westside. Consistent high-quality skewers, creative Asian fusion cuisine and a good selection of drinks. I tried the lobster ramen for the first time and the whole group liked it. It was seasoned slightly strong to my taste but everyone else appreciated the flavorfulness.
My favorite dishes were garlic edamame, grilled corn, and miso cod.
Not quite sure why this restaurant gets top reviews as our experience was totally average. As a frequent traveler to Japan, I'm quite familiar with good robata and izakaya and this fell short. The warm tofu was very nice served table side as was the garlic edamame. The robata was okay nothing special. It was a cool night and the windows were left wide open which meant the restaurant was chilly and food that was meant to be eaten warm or hot got cold really quickly. A yuzutini we ordered had cucumbers and some pepper flakes in it and did not taste of yuzu at all. When we pointed out that yuzu was a citrus, we were told "that's how we make our yuzutini here". Expected much more.
My sister and I went last night for my birthday. The crossing bread pudding was pretty good. The fat from the chashu melted in our mouths and had a nice char on it. Our favorite was the beef tongue which was served on a flaming rock.
Personally I didn’t think the fois gras skewer was worth the price. I think I just prefer it like a pate. The wagyu beef was delicious.
Great experience Toro sashimi and sushi simply perfect
Great place
The food was really tasteful and well served.
This food is absolutely amazing and they are so good at accommodating dietary restrictions. Great service and great happy hour!
Very delicious food. Service was amazing.
The food is delicious. We tried ramen and the skewers. The water service was very attentive but for condiments and other drinks we had to wave down staff. The tables are all really close together so it's not the most romantic place as everyone is kind of in one big conversation. I recommend it for lunch/or dinner but plan on going somewhere else from drinks.
Food was great but the server needs to step up his game so he doesn’t forget 3 different things in 1 same table.
Amazing as always!
I like the sushi and ramen, but music is too loud.
Sit at the sushi/grill counter. The skewers were the highlight, especially the black cod and premium tongue served on a hot rock.
Such unique flavors!
Always very good and reasonable - especially during happy hour. One of our go to places.
My girlfriend and I frequent Jinya almost every week. We live just down the street so it's a very convenient walk down the street to get some of the best ramen we have ever had. We always get the Spicy Tonkatsu. I definitely recommend adding the seasoned egg, it makes all the difference. It's a very energetic atmosphere with great seating at the sushi bar.
Best happy hour robata in LA. From 5:00- 6:30 every day. Even weekends. Sapporo drafts 3.00
Great tempura brussel sprouts, great Ramen. All the izakaya is amazing. Our local favorite!
Amazing food 👌🏼
I had wanted to eat some real japanesn style dinner like "Izakaya" in Japan. This restaurant served many japanese foods which difinitely tastes like real ones. The shef was such a kind man. Thanks!!
The food was delicious. The service was great. Would definitely come back to this establishment.
Amazing food, every dish ordered was absolutely delicious. We loved how all items are tapa-style where everyone in your party could try a little bit of everything. I’d highly recommend the Chilean sea bass, miso Black cod and the wagyu on lava stone grill! Ambience was great. We can’t wait to come back!
Food is amazing and service is always excellent!
Kind of loud place. But, incredible food! The innocuously named “sashimi sampler” was an amazing staircase of fresh fish. Try it.
I’m never disappointed going here. Food is always very delicious and great prices.
just an all around great place for fantastic food!
It's now on my must go list ! The atmosphere's great, service is good, and most importantly the food is amazing. I love the happy hour which is until 7pm weekly. I've tried a few items on the regular menu and they were amazing! each skewer is on point with juiciness and it just melts in your mouth.
Casual sushi spot... the uni was great. Super fresh. A bit saucy for me in general but overall good experience and nice servers
We love Robata. It's accessible to us by foot and is our go-to for sushi. The food is great and so is the service.
The service and food has really declined. This used to be my favorite restaurant until they changed all the management and employees.
Beautiful restaurant, make a reservation because it is small inside. Food was good, the chickpeas are a must, but the eggplant miso was tough and we were not fans so we sent it back- the kitchen was accommodating with our request. Overall great, we will be back!
Everything was great! I’ve been her a handful of times before. our sake and sauces came almost half way through the meal, which wasn’t a huge deal.
We sat at the counter and there is an awful fruit fly problem. It was rather gross. We told the waiter about it. Hopefully the problem gets fixed. It did detour us from having more food and sticking around longer
Awesome!
It was great!
Love this spot! Aweomse authentic Japanese ambiance and amazing food! Great selection of both sushi and cooked plats including ramen. I'd definitely recommend!
Fun place with great food! We tried 3 of their specialties. Wagu with truffle tacos - my favorite.
Management has been steadily deteriorating for the last two years but somehow the food is still great.
Delicious food. Chicken thigh oysters is a must! Also enjoyed the chicken meatballs.
