Good place for a casual dinner.
Great variety of Japanese street food and wonderful service keep making me go back.
Love this place. Been coming here for over a decade and it is one of the best Robatas in town. Great selection of all things Japanese from sushi, sashimi, noodles, veggies, etc
The ramen here is incredible! The Tonkotsu Spicy Ramen is my favorite. It is also really nice that they have two sizes depending on how hungry you are. I also like to order a plate of the Spicy Creamy Shrimp Tempura that is really tasty as well!
Amazing Japaness food, great prices especially during happy hour!
The oily, oily, vegetables ruined an otherwise good meal
The ambiance is questionable with too much high volume noice
Great as always!
Good service and ambience. Environment was vibe-y and recommend for a date. Food was pretty good, but it can definitely be better. Go there for drinks and small tappas for chat.
It’s very dark can’t even see the menu and the tables are very close. Good thing is the price is acceptable.
Food was outstanding. Service was incredible. Music was too loud.
We went for happy hour and got very excited by the hh menu options. All the tables were full but it didn’t feel too packed. However, the service was unenjoyable slow and we waited over a half hour for one grilled veggie dish and a sushi roll. We’ve been before and never experienced such a delay. It made the whole experience less than stellar.
I really enjoyed Robata JINYA. Service was great. Food was delicious. A must try!
It is always wonderful to dine at this restaurant. Their food is always delicious and service is always nice and friendly
Excellent food, service, price, and ambiance.
Good little bites! Try everything! Plates do not all come out at the same time, so gauge your order accordingly. Parking is hard, but they have valet. There is neighborhood parking, but check permit zones. Service is a little slow, and it is very busy and little noisy at times.
Superb food. Music a little too loud and space is small.
From the first time going, and still 3 years later Robata Jinya is my go-to place for Japanese cuisine. Great Happy Hour prices includes starters, sushi, sashimi, and more. I'm not a vegan, but the Spicy Vegan Ramen is to die for! You must try it! The staff is always friendly, courteous, and best of all, they remember you and always greet you with a smile.
Great Japanese restaurant in LA. The portions are perfect of you don't like the huge plates offered at other places. I would recommend this place to anybody looking for a good Japanese restaurant when in LA.
I wouldn't go to Robota Jinya unless it was for Happy Hour, otherwise it costs too much $ for the quality.
Outstanding food..sushi quite good, robata is the best..vegetables, seafood, meatballs, way guy and of course the shrimp toast....noise level is outrageously high...bring ear plugs...
Always a brilliant restaurant. Staff are on point in spite of a hectic environment with dishes going everywhere. Food is delicious - keep it up!
Great food, rude waiter (supervisor). The music too high.
Great Service! I highly recommend the Happy Hour menu
Great Happy Hour Menu. It is a great casual place with reasonable price and good quality food. Inside is too noisy.
Good food a little loud for me but overall good spot
first time there. great place, great vide, great food.
I will definitely go back.
Food came out all at once ... was like a bombardment
Server was not paying attention to the tables all the time. They let bunch of 2-5 yrs old at patio seat and ruined the scene.
Really good quality sushi and yakitori at great prices. Happy hour is an amazing value.
Great location and outstanding food / service. I highly recommend, try the wagyu steak.
We love this place.
Seated quickly, kindly fed quickly, will go more then three times a week if I can!
We come almost every week for their ramen. It has to be some of the best I’ve ever had.
Very disappointed with Robata Jinya. We are frequent diners to this restaurant for special occasions or just for everyday dining. However, the service significantly declined, we had to call the attention and remind our server a few times to follow up on our orders, from the meals to the drinks. The appetizer and another roll we ordered came towards the end of the meal and their excuse was that the waiter delivered our orders to another table, so who's gonna pay for that order? The menu has also changed, servings are relatively smaller, like the california roll for example, 8 tiny pieces cut to about less than an inch, what happened to the contents of the roll? where's the avocado, crab meat and the other ingredients that makes up a california roll? They were so minute that you'd think they were from a kids meal. The meat on their tapa/skewers also shrank in size and quantity. A simple miso soup order arrived in a tiny-tiny bowl compared to previous times we would order this soup. What happened to the Robata quality? No wonder there were so many available seats open.
I usually like to sit outside because the inside is a bit dark/loud. Food is very good. Happy hour dishes are good deals.
service was good everything but the sushi was amazing
One of the best yakitori places! Everything we ordered was delicious! Fun energy and attentive service - we will be back for more!
My friends and I have ordered from Robata Jinya plenty of times for dinner delivery and never been disappointed (food comes well-packaged, flavors are on-point, overall delicious). This was our first time going to the restaurant in person, and unfortunately we will not be coming back and instead stick to ordering. We ordered a lot of favorites - and were served old meat (the foie grois was particularly unappetizing), sashimi that was poorly cut and not fresh, very undercooked miso eggplant that had little flavor, the list goes on. The service was also not exactly on par for the night either. It was just disappointing overall - especially given how much we enjoy delivery from Robata.
Love the food and enjoy seating on the patio. I come here about once a month and have always enjoyed the food. One complaint is that the owner insists on playing loud music all the time and it makes it difficult to talk. Patio is quieter, but still too annoyingly loud. The food is good enough to put up with the noise, but would go more often if quieter.
