This place used to be one of our favourite, but tonight's dining experience left little to be desired. Service was pretty terrible, food was blend and portion smaller than usual :(

Robata Jinya is one of my favorite restaurants in Los Angeles. The food is delicious and the ambience is cozy and vibrant. If you want to impress a date, take them here and sit at the counter to watch the amazing chefs make your delectable dinner.

This place is fantastic! We’ve been many times and we’re never disappointed. The food is delicious and fresh. The sashimi melts in your mouth. The service has always been exceptional. It can get quite busy, so I definitely recommend making a reservation. Absolutely love this place!!

Terrible service. Worst experience I️’ve ever had at the restaurant. Everyone seemed off
Disorganized
Rude staff, especially the hostess
Waiter was slow and forgot about us. Had to ask three times to order our food.

I’ve been here twice. Really love the food - there aren’t that many good tapas style Japanese food in LA to be honest. It’s a little dark/loud indoors, so I sat outside the second time I went there and really loved the setting. The skewers are great especially if you catch the happy hour prices. Love it’s organic tofu (they make it in front of you). Really good deal during happy hour. Could be a bit pricey during normal hours

The hosts were very nice, We were seated immediately upon arrival. Food came out fairly quick. Presentation was very nice all the dishes. The Jinya black Ramen was quite disappointing. There did not seem to have much flavor and the broth was not steaming hot. The stand out dish was the house made tofu. I could of eaten 3 of them. We ordered about 5 types of skewers but for what ever reason all of our chicken sticks did not come out. Since we received all of our dishes and we're about to have our plates cleared since the kitchen had not made the sticks we asked to cancel. Our waitress was very apologetic and gladly took the items off our bill. Overall our dinner was good.

Did not like the place, at all. The music was too laud, and I did care for this kind of music. The dishes were very small, like tapas, so you end up ordering a lot of dishes, paying much, and leave the place hungry. It supposed to be marked $$$ ! I guess it is not a place for us, we go to a restaurant we want to eat well, and have a nice conversation around the table, and we could not have neither. The food was good though, and the service too. Just tiny dishes, expensive, and laud music. We will not return.

Extremely pleased with our find of Robata Jinya. The staff Tristen was very helpful in explaining the Happy Hour specials and the items we ordered we excellent. The grilled peppers was done to perfection with fish flakes but the soy was a little overwhelming. We ordered a long list of appetizers and rolls but capped off with a highlight of vegan ramen (which is a must try for everyone!)

I've been here a few times and appreciate the fun and friendly staff. The food is interesting and varied, and delicious. There are good healthy vegetables and highest quality sushi. It's useful to get a reservation, as some walk-in traffic is turned away.

Robata never seems to disappoint. Great neighborhood restaurant that has a nice environment, great food, excellent service, discount Happy Hour menu, and a very nice rotating menus of specials along with the high quality food on the everyday menu. Highly recommended.

I come here often mainly for robata/yakitori and the fact that hey didn't have most of those items on their menu last time was pretty frustrating. The service was exceptionally SLOW as well. Good food great ambience but need to improve a lot on the service.
