Roadhouse Boulder Depot
Nice casual atmosphere, good food at a fair price. Service was fine, but not exceptional. Great burger with short ribs on top.
As someone with celiac, I was very grateful for the extensive gluten-free menu that even included gluten-free beer. The food was inventive, well-prepared, and delicious. The service was very friendly and attentive. They did a great job restoring and decorating this historic building. The place had a festive atmosphere. I look forward into going back when I visit Boulder again!
A disappointing dinner. On a slow Sunday night, after being promptly seated, it took a half hour to get drinks to the table. Had to flag down the hostess to help out. Never received the salad course several in our party had ordered. Brie appetizer was excellent, burgers and salad courses were fine. But left with a bad taste in our mouths over the poor service.
Overall it was a good experience. The food was good and the ambiance is a fun, unique vibe. Our service was a bit slow and the restaurant was loud but it was a Saturday night during football so that is to be expected. We ate as a family with our 8 and 13 year old daughters and they enjoyed it as well.
We went to Roadhouse with friends before the Buff football game. This just might be the best brunch in Boulder. The bottomless mimosas and bloody mary bar simply can't be topped. The food is awesome with reasonable portions--not the size that would feed a small village. For me, that's a plus! Our server was great but they were understaffed so it was a bit slow--not her fault. It was the perfect pre-game meal.
Everyone enjoyed their food. Service was excellent. Be sure to make a reservation. We were fortunate to get a reservation for an odd number for some of the downtown restaurant would not take a table for 5. One of our guest worked for the railroad so he was very impressed!
Always enjoy eating at the Roadhouse Boulder Depot. Good good, warm ambiance, and typically attentive service. Our server, Joshua, was another fine example of RBD service: professional, courteous, and engaging. Highly recommend to anyone looking to "step up" from a traditional brasserie or sports bar... but without spending a fortune.
Sweet waitress, nice and clean, food and drinks were good. Children's menu well priced. We were celebrating two legitimate birthdays, and they didn't offer any perks (like free desert) for guests with celebrations. Just a FYI
The food was great. Unfortunately we were not happy with our service. I stood at the hostess spot to be seated for about 10 mins without being acknowledged. Multiple people walked by and even used the computer in front of me without even a simple “hello”. When we were finally seated, it took about 15 mins to be acknowledged AGAIN! We were finally able to place our drink and food orders. Then once our food came out we sat there and waited for utensils, we actually had to ask our waiter TWICE to get utensils. Our two daughters were so hungry and grown tired of waiting the ate HALF of their pancakes with just their hands. Then when we were finally done and she cleared our table, she never came back. We had to ask two other people to grab our checks for us. Our waitress did not come back to our table till after the gentleman completed our bill.
The food was delicious but the customer service was very disappointing and needs some work.
Delicious food and great atmosphere! We will be back for sure!
Marissa R was the hostess with the mostest! She’s amazing!

Have eaten here before especially when staying at neighbor Hyatt Place. Easy walk from hotel. Enjoyed drinks, salads, and dinner. Excellent visit.
Bartender read our vibe really well and let us have our space and catch up but was there when we needed her. Great first experience :)
We had a large party and the accommodated us perfectly. Our service was wonderful and our waiter was attentive and funny. He even took a moment to come outside and take a photo of us all.
Despite having reser
Haven't had that good of food at that price for a while. It was delicious and didn't take forever. Service was excellent and I would come here again. One of the best places in boulder to get an affordable, good sized, delicious steak. New favorite date night venue for me and my wife.
John, the bartender, was awesome .. attentive and personable
The food, drinks ambiance and service were amazing and fun!!!
We will be back for sure
We were in town for CU Parents Weekend and need a restaurant that accommodate our group of 13 and boy oh boy did this exceed our expectations!
The food was outstanding, the service was spot on and the wine list was excellent AND reasonable.
We will definitely be back!
This is my new favorite restaurant! The fish tacos are the best I’ve ever had.
It was closed when we got there...no sign...nothing on the website. Lame.
The Roadhouse is a great place if you want to get out from Pearl street for great food. The wait staff is always friendly and accommodating. The food is consistent with good quality for the value. It also has a cool history with the building being the old train station. Check out the photo's down stairs showing all the historical trains that passed through boulder.
The hostess is absolutely one of the sweetest and nicest people around!
Excellent food in an historic location with a very modern look
Solid. Pricey and loud. Beet Hummus is fantastic but not enough veggie slices and pita/flatbread pieces. Decent happy hour.
Sadly, I've tried hard to like the Depot. The food is mostly ok, or sometimes even good. The beer selection is good. The style and concept of giving the old train depot this new life is great. But he service has always been slow and disorganized, and it can get really noisy in there. Today we went there for brunch thinking that if we went to somewhere like Walnut Cafe we might have to wait on a list. Since The Roadhouse Depot is on OpenTable I figured making a reservation would be a better option given that I was bringing my 80 something in-laws out for brunch. We were seated right away, but still waited 62 minutes for our food. The place was humming with non-stop trips of folks who were partaking in the "bottomless mimosas" they offer on Sundays. I'm sure that works to bring people into the restaurant, but it also kinda takes over the whole scene. I wonder if it even pays off financially beacuse it seems to slow down the table turnover as folks stay long enough to get hammered, but only order a normal amount of food. That's the reason for why it was loud it was in there. I'm not opposed to places with cheap drinks, but I guess this places should really be thought of as a bar more than a serious restaurant.
I should note, the wait staff at the Depot are nice enough. They seem to be regularly put in a tough spot by a management who can't get all the staffing right relative to how busy they can get (job 1 in running a restaurant) and who's not training the staff well for dealing with the pretty normal situations that arise (for example if you're going to make people wait an hour for food, bring them something to nosh on). I can't believe they didn't think of this or even offer. Isn't this why restaurants have bread or chips and salsa, etc? To buy the kitchen some time?
They did apologize and took $20 off our bill, but for their planning they should consider that many customers would be willing to pay more than full fare and have better service.
Poor and slow service. Pretzel bites with cold and lumpy queso. Fatty wings. Tasteless burger. Short rib enchiladas with only 8 bites of meat. And a filet ordered medium that had to be cooked three times so it literally wasn’t raw. And the worst - I have a teen with a hidden disability who needs a straw. Instead of the waitress just bringing a draw we got a lecture about environmentalism. When I told her some people with disabilities need straws she told me we should bring our own.
Overall the service was good. Table seating was a little uncomfortable. I felt spaced apart from my companion yet very close to the tables on each side of us. That along with noise level made it impossible to share any type of conversation. Food was mediocre at best and priced high for serving size. I don't think I'd visit again.
Good food, prompt service, nice atmosphere. I will go back to this place.
We loved our server Chris. The food was great . The noise level was impossible. We parked behind and got a ticket. No warning or directional signs.
Casual, open feel with yummy food. A great place to eat on the patio or watch a game.
The food is great and enjoyed their happy hour too.
very nice, lovely food, good location, good friends
The Roadhouse Boulder Depot is always a great spot for happy hour! A generously diverse happy hour menu (both food and drinks), super reasonable prices, and pay parking around and adjacent to the restaurant are all reasons to stop in! When it does get busy, the service tends to lag just a bit - but not much more than would be expected during a great happy hour anywhere. The Baked Brie is amazing, as are the Brussels Sprouts. The Onion Dip is also a great share plate for the table! The beer and wine selection are good and the restaurant also has a great selection of well-crafted mixed drinks! I would definitely recommend checking out this restaurant!
Sat on patio, perfect weather, food was great and just very relaxed. Can’t wait to go back.
Food was flavorless and uninspired. A simple fast food joint like Five Guys makes a significantly better burger and for a quarter of the cost.
We love The Depot- one of our fav places to gather with family, friends or just the two of us.
Had gotten recommendations for brunch here but even though the restaurant was empty, they sat us near the back door and service area where there was a lot of wind from outside and traffic in and out that door and to the computers next to our table.
Coffee was terrible.
Food was good but very rich. Waitress heard my order wrong and just insisted on that was it.
Been there for a dinner and it was fine, I'm guessing they're just figuring out brunch and its slow.
This place is great! Been here on many occasions and food and service is excellent.
Food was great. Chips were awesome. Huge gluten-free menu. Turned music down for us. Reasonable prices.
