Our favorite restaurant and always our "go to" for special celebrations! Tyler, our server went beyond to welcome us and take care of us. The food was - as usual - perfection.

What should have been a special Mother’s Day dinner turned into one of the rudest dining experiences I’ve had in Chicago. While still finishing our entrees—and before dessert was served—we were abruptly told we had to move to a small table near the bar if we wanted to continue. Not asked, not apologized to. Told. On Mother’s Day. I gave them a choice: either let us finish where we were, or bring the check. They chose the latter. No acknowledgment of the situation, no gesture of goodwill—just indifference after a large bill. To cap it off, a cocktail arrived with garnish still wearing a produce sticker. RL may look refined, but the service was rushed, careless, and shockingly inhospitable. Chicago has countless better restaurants. Skip this one—your mother deserves better.

We were seated thirty minutes late, and while there was some acknowledgement that our table was running behind, there was little concern. After being seated, nobody took a drink order for 15 minutes. The waiter (and staff) were very busy all night, but it was hard to get their attention, and the service was disappointing. It has been a bit since I have eaten here, but the room is WAY too crowded, as was the lobby and the bar. Two appetizers were great, and a salad and another app were fine. Dover sole was good, but not outstanding, burgers were good but not cooked to order, and the chocolate cake was abysmal. The cake was not moist and almost stale; I make a better one. Overall, between the expense and the difficulty in getting the reservation, it was a very disappointing experience.

Never disappoints, always a favorite from the hello to the last goodbye, the experience is always warm, familiar and the food is excellent.

We went for a Mother’s Day luncheon and had an amazing meal. Everything was cooked to perfection and the service was impeccable. Truly a memorable meal!
