We had a great experience and one of the best steaks I have eaten in my life! David, our server was phenomenal. He made our meal even better with his positive attitude and attention he paid to us. Next time I am in Portland I will be back!
My husband & I always go to the Ringside on our anniversary. The food was delicious as always and the service was impeccable!
Had a great meal. Still my favorite steak place in Portland.
Still..the best steak in town. I had my first steak there 45 years ago. was as good then as it is now. And the onion rings and wedge salad speak for themselves! Plus the best Gin and Tonic in town. 5 stars and then some.
Great dinner experience, staff and server were very friendly. Food was excellent!
They treated us so well. We loved our server Derek.
The food was excellent and the service was even more outstanding. We enjoyed the evening.
Every time I look up best steaks in Portland, this place would show up on the list. Now I know why. We started with their world famous onion rings. A flakey breading over mild onions- they were delicious. The Caesar was very good, the dressing wasn't overpowering and the presentation was beautiful. I had the NY strip with mashed potatoes. My partner had the Monday night Prime Rib special. Both were cooked to perfection. I just had a glass of malbec, but wine connoisseurs would love the wine list. We highly recommend Ringside.
A little pricey, but a great dining experience.
We had a Birthday meal for 4 and it was EXCELLANT! I had the Delmonico steak (perfect!) and the others had the Filet. Everyone was very impressed with the service and the food. We always choose Ringside when price is no object.
We went to Ring Side Steakhouse in Portland Or for my birthday, it was a wonderful experience overall. The Valet staff were familiar with Tesla, and extremely professional, helpful and friendly. The restaurant staff were most polite pleasant and accommodating. The Prime Rib was average, bread pudding was a bit burned, Delmonitico staek that was their special lacked flavor and was quite dry, but, their Lobster Mac & Cheese was the best ever.
We had a wonderful time as the ambiance was romantic, friendly and very peaceful but still lively and just gorgeous. We will return to Ring Side with our friends.
Wonderful food & outstanding service
They gave free desert
The food was amazing, staff was very pleasant, and ambience was pretty good just a tad dark.
The Ringside is a landmark in Portland. The food is incredible & service is friendly, attentive, and you never have to ask for anything. Ombiance is classy and nose level is low enough fir great conversation. We had the onion rings to start (the small is enough for 4 people) and they are the best we've ever had. They are crispy, sweet & NOT oily. Fyi, if you ask for a double in your cocktail, be prepared... you may have to ask for more mix, lol. We also had the baked onion soup, incredible! I just wished i could've brought it home. I had the sirloin which was twice the size i thought it would be and cooked to profection. Perfectly medium rare! Hard to do on a 2" steak. Garlic mashed potatoes, to die for. My bf had the surf & turf which he could not stop eating. We are ecstatic to have leftovers for today's lunch :)
Just an incredible experience, perfect for that very special occasion
The food was amazing, it was the best lobster tail I've ever had. Staff were really welcoming and nice. It was really romantic and we enjoyed ourselves for our anniversary. They gave us a free dessert for our anniversary with a candle so that was a nice surprise.
You have to try the French onion soup. It’s the best I’ve ever had!!! Everything else was also good but I can’t get enough of that soup!
Service was horrible and food was simply average. Expected a lot more for a $300 dinner for two. Very disappointed!!!!!
We enjoyed the table location, more private. Food and service was great. Onion rings are the best!!
It's been years since my wife and I have dined at the Ringside.
A friend of mine who I've been playing gin with once a week for over 40 years continues to
rave about the Ringside.
For Valentine's Day Ringside, of course, was booked. We elected to dine on Saturday, Feb 15th
at 5pm. Next time we'll get a table by the fire-place, as near the door always created a draft
when someone arrived.
That being said, my wife of 44 years couldn't have been more delighted. She had the ribeye,
I had the grass fed filet. For the appetizers, she the dungeness crab cocktail, me the Ahi tuna.
Both eye-appealing as well as taste-appealing. We can't wait to return for an encore.
I hadn’t been to this restaurant in a few years but was excited to go there again. They did not disappoint!! The meal was amazing; even at 10:30 at night! Will definitely be going back, especially to get some more of the lobster mashed potatoes! Go hungry!
While I have ate here. 50-60 times. The overall ambiance is this place has really slid. Jimmy the best bartender in the town still brings the best drinks to your hand at the bar. The service and presentation of the restaurant side has nothing left of what made this place great.
$300+ meal. Steak was severely burnt. When I ordered rare. The waiter barely acknowledged my questions for my very beautiful and polite date. I had to get up 3 times to ask for new drinks. I hope this place gets it groove back. As it’s the only steakhouse in town worth it normally. I unfortunately will not give this place my time and money again.
Yelling at my date so she can hear me over staff and loud ambiance overall is a first for me. Food was completely disappointing. 3 tables next to me left early because they couldn’t get drinks or service for their dates as well.
A lot of us miss the old ringside. Has nothing to do with modern times. Just take care of the people that keep your doors open. We come there for the whole experience. Not server attitude problems or short staffing.
I have been going to the Ringside Burnside for many years.
The cost for dinner has skyrocketed in the past few years.
The filet I had with my lobster tail was mediocre at best.
I expected outstanding. What I received was, let’s just say not outstanding.
Our server was good.
Lovely. The service was top notch and the food was terrific. The steak was the best I’ve had in a while. The ambience was just what we wanted, but yes, it was the service that made the night special.
Go to special occasion place. Excellent food, beverage and service. It helps to like Frank Sinatra because the ambiance and music are very rat pack. A rare dress up venue in Portland. Free valet parking is a nice perk.
It was great
When we arrived we were taken to a very small table that was not able to fit us; we aren’t even very large people, just tall. No effort was given to try to give us a bigger table. The couple across from us said they too were given that table but was able to get a bigger table. We were not, so we went elsewhere for our 5th anniversary. Extremely disappointed!
Big bill but food didn’t have much flavor and the entree seafood Caesar had about 1 tablespoon of crab and 3 flavorless prawns. Blah dressing lots of romaine stems-inedible.
Onion rings flavor was poor, martinis about 2/3rds full. Nice waitress, though.
As always, this was a most memorable experience with great food, service and ambiance. My steak dinner was beyond compare and the crème brulee they gave my husband and me for our anniversary was delicious. Topped it off with a Spanish coffee (YUM) and I will be talking about this dinner until I go back again for another exquisite dining experience. LOVE this place and the people who work there.
Amazing food only matched by incredible service.
The Ringside remains one of favorite restaurants. We celebrated our 54th anniversary there this week, nearly 58 years after having our first date dinner there. Its service is always excellent and its steaks are perfectly prepared. It’s the quintessential PORTLAND restaurant.
We had a wonderful dinner experience for my 70 th Birthday bringing a 1950 bottle of French Chateau Latour ! I brought a bouquet of roses for our table. Monique, our server, did a superb job of carefully opening and decanting our unique and special bottle of wine. The food was presented beautifully and tasted fabulous!! No one does a filet like the Ringside!! My husband and I dined at the Ringside on our wedding day 42 years this August. The Ringside has been our go to restaurant over the years for very special dinners. Thank you, Ringside! Jim and Sandi
We were there to celebrate Valentine's Day a bit early. We were seated directly in front of the fireplace , which was delightful on a cool evening. Our waiter Colin was a delightful & interesting person. The lobster was wonderful, & we'll definitely return soon.
The staff was very nice and attentive. Food was amazing!!!
The service was truly outstanding. The food was good but my prime rib was dry. How is medium rare prime rib dry? Especially at the price. I would recommend to a friend but I would caution them that it is overpriced.
Simply the best of what Portland has to offer. The staff, the food and the atmosphere is what keeps us coming back!!
We love this restaurant. We have a favorite booth and Ringside always accommodates our request. Love you guys!
We had a seating for six people and we all had fabulous meals. The service was spot on, steaks were done to perfection, sides tasty. The evening proved to be as great as the many times before. Many thanks for being the best in dining.
The bartenders make the dinner spectacular. Great service
