   I was extremely disappointed with both Rextail Restaurant and OpenTable as I booked a table for 2 for the 31st October and received a confirmation from OpenTable, only to turn up to the restaurant with my wife and find that it is closed for renovation!! I do not understand why reservations are being made and confirmed when the restaurant is not even operating. Since this has happened, I am not sure I can trust OpenTable for future reservations.

   Went for lunch with a client and had a great steak. Restaurant was very empty yet the service was a little slow considering

   Shambles. Waited around an hour for our lunch to be served. They may have lost our ticket as the restaurant was empty. Couldn't finish the meal as we ran out of time. Also the menu change is awful!

   Loved everything from the service to the food. I recommend the octopus and lamp cutlets. The portions are huge though! I couldn't finish the mains! The staff were amazing, thank you for making this experience wonderful!

   Had a great evening. Went with my husband and friend. It was a really warm day and seeing that the restaurant was in a basement put me off at first but once we were downstairs it was perfect. The restaurant is so comfortable and the service very good. Food was excellent. Will definitely be returning.

   Been to Novikov so didn't expect it to be cheap but thought, with the 50% off food, that it would equate to reasonable; but it didn't. So totally underwhelming; the decor is strange and not at all welcoming; you're in a dark basement with a mixture of different tables. I think I understand the look they went for but they missed! The music is loud, 90s techno and house which is so incongruous! The service varies between OK and inept; some of the waiters look like they're there on a YTS scheme. The food, in parts, was very good. Of note, the crab salad and the steak tartare were excellent starters but the carpaccio was bland and the pata negra too greasy and poorly sliced. The cote de boeuf was decent - easily enough for 3 large appetites to share - and the lamb chops the best of everything. The sides were mixed; chips with parmesan were decent, the asparagus disgusting. Too many items unavailable; no squid, no mushrooms, no sea bass is not good enough when there's only a small menu. Wines are expensive and, most importantly, the sommelier has a very strange agenda! I'm quite knowledgeable on wine but he made two suggestions, one for white and one for red, which were awful. One was cheap and one was £90 so not sure why! My fault for listening but.... It finished at £400 for 4, after saving £170 with the discount. Don't bother rushing - MASH, Hawksmoor or JW are far better

   Having read reviews complaining about the child-friendly policy, I was wary, but mid-week there was only one family who were just leaving. The service was very attentive and the manager was mingling with regulars and new guests alike making everyone feel welcome. The wine list was very extensive and we selected a wonderful Reisling for about £35(prices range from mid £20s upwards with a lot to choose from whatever your budget).

    Decided to try Rextail and take a break from my regular Gaucho birthday dinners and was pleasantly surprised with the quality of service attention to detail and most of all the delicious food served
