American
In its bright eatery with white walls and warm wooden furnishings, Salt's Cure practices its culinary philosophy of utilizing sustainable and California-sourced ingredients for its new American recipes. Small plates that make for excellent starters include the pretzel bread with ale mustard, the chicken liver mousse with toast and pickles and the wood oven roasted broccoli. In addition to being a restaurant, Salt's Cure prides itself on being a butcher shop, which is why dishes like its duck leg with oatmeal griddle cakes and blackberry compote and the pork ham confit with roast potatoes are incredibly fresh and prepared with passion. Other popular entrees include seafood plates, like wild steelhead salmon roe and savory clams with spicy chorizo, as well as vegetarian-friendly dishes, such as the luscious potato dumplings with mushrooms and pesto. Be sure to enjoy your craft meal with one of Salt's Cure craft beer selections.

The place is tiny but that allows you to really get a feel for exactly whats going on with the preparation. No menus, just whatever is on chalkboard that day. Every time I go, I get the pork chop because it's one of the best I have ever eaten. Don't feel bad about picking up the bone and eating it like a cave man because it's the best part. Just a great experience as everything is done with exceptional care. Keep in mind, it's only beer and wine but the beers are great. The burger is also great with thick bacon. The mussles were excellent and require more bread to soak up the bacon flavored broth. If you like steak tartar, definitely order it because it won't disappoint. Just a great experience from folks that are serious about food.

Made reservation for birthday. No recognition of the day--why ask if you don't care? Server did a fine job. Personable, knowledgeable, and accommodating. Only negative is that each time server came to table, interrupted our conversation. Even though restaurant was just 1/3 full, so no reason it should be about staff. I had pork shoulder. Smallish portion, but very good. Partner had pork chop. Enormous and also really good. Won't run, but I will go back.

Not a pleasant dinner. Food was surprising, had a watermelon salad that we assembled of components which did not match and the dressing did nothing to bring them together. My date also had it and she stopped after three bites. The main course pork chop was good, but was not very juicy. The pork shoulder was okay, but consisted of only four bites of meat (maybe 3 ounces). The desserts were okay but nothing over-the -top. But the big kicker, I asked for help selecting the wine based on the pork dished and they recommended a white - which was great for the pork chop but the pork shoulder was so spiced and put in a broth that would make any white get lost (it called for a medium-heavy red with both good tannin and acid). Restaurants should not offer suggestions if they do not know the dishes being served. All-in-all, I probably would have had a better meal at Fat Burger across the street!

The pork chop was delicious. Would definitely go back as the menu changes frequently. Vegetable sides were also complimentary to the main course. Didn't leave much room for dessert! Disco music as background sound was distracting at times and didn't really seem to go with atmosphere.

I arrived at Salt's Cure hungry for a real meal. I did not need gimmicks or bell's or whistles. What I found was a very limited menu based upon what was fresh and locally available. And I got a meal that I doubt I can surpass anytime soon. Not only was I fed, but I was taken care of. The food was simple but memorable, tasty, well prepared and perfect. I have not felt like this after a restaurant experience in some time. No one should ignore this special place in the middle of West Hollywood. I wish I lived there so I could go back for breakfast this morning.

Wonderful little restaurant. Charming, absolutely delicious, dish to dish, start to finish. The salads, fish, pork chops, steak, dessert, nothing heavy, every dish cooked to perfection, not at all heavy on the carbs. Combination of flavors was artful, nothing overly complex. The place itself is very casual, comfortable, not at all fancy or full of itself. Loved the meal and the vibe. I only wish our waiter would've shared with us what, besides cinnamon, was in the apple sauce. It was incredible. If we lived in the neighborhood, we'd be regulars. Thanks for a great meal!

A fun and easy place to meet for lunch. John Legizamo was at the counter with friends. Menu is updated all the time on a check board, good prices but smallish portions and nothing wildly unique. I wanted to move it but just liked it.

It's tough for someone like me to find a place that cures their own meats. I'm surprised the wait staff never starts with telling you this. Now if they'd only get 1 Gluten-Free option on the menu for breakfast, that would be great.

My boyfriend and I were excited to try this restaurant since we heard good things about the food. We ordered the cured board, crab salad and NY strip with fries. The best thing we ate were the fries. The crab salad was very small with no flavor. I found three shells in my two bites alone. The cured board should of came with bread or crackers. Too much cured meat with nothing to eat it with. The steak was okay, nothing special and very expensive.

The servers are always on it and adorable! The wine selection is on point he only sad thing is no more records and that was a major selling piece for me but hey times have changed. chef is amazing and I suggest you sit at the bar and just watch it all happen I front of you

On a recent visit to one of this city's only honest restaurant's, I had another terrific dinner, but was saddened to hear they're moving to a new location in Hollywood. I realize they may have outgrown their current space, and can benefit from a full bar, patio seating etc, but the current space is kind of perfect. I wish them luck either way, but am not so secretly hoping that they don't lose the space they're in.

We have eaten at Salt's Cure many times and always enjoy the food. Our last visit was a bit of a disappointment as the food was ok. We had Flank steak and a Curried Chicken, which should have been great but were fine. The Curried Chicken was very mild, it was almost difficult to notice the curry flavors. The Flank Steak was basic, I have had better at other restaurants.

My boyfriend and I were looking forward to going here for weeks and finally had some time to do so. The wine selection was good, but they had a very short dinner menu and it was written way up high on the wall on a chalkboard. They did have the drink menu printed on clipboards, however. The website has the BRUNCH and LUNCH menus, but not the dinner menu. We each ordered a glass of wine and a couple of appetizers. After we finished those, we decided that maybe we should come back and try the brunch menu instead another day. It wasn't what we expected. We were a little confused why we had heard such great things about this place. The pretzel we ordered with pickled vegetable came out BURNT. Still confused about the menu online vs. options we were given.

Since Salt's Cure doesn't have a standard menu for dinner, we really had no idea what we would be experiencing. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. Our waitress was knowledgeable and attentive. It's a very intimate and small restaurant, so, know that you won't have a lot of wiggle room at your table. Overall, we would highly recommend Salt's Cure!

I was a little scared when there was no valet or parking lot that I could find. No dinner menu on the OT site. But that was a momentary set back. This 10-12 table restaurant is lovely. Daily menu is listed on a chalk board for you to see. We had the spicy pork rinds, soft pretzel with an assortment of pickled veggies, chicken with curried rice and the swordfish. Yummy!

Our fave restaurant in LA so far. The small plates are so good-- pretzel with pickles & farro salad were the best. My kids had the half chicken & they loved it. I didn't check kid friendly only because they didn't have a separate kids menu (which wasn't an issue for us bc my kids eat anything), but they were very sweet to our daughters. Loved the rock crab hash. My husband are every bit of the pork shoulder. GET THE DATE PuDDING with fig sauce...omg. Service was great, ambiance was warm & cozy. Great way to kick off our Vaca from Detroit.

My boyfriend went for Valentine's diner. The had a special prix fixe menu with wine pairings. Each course was better than the next. They even converted my boyfriend, a lifelong mushroom hater, into a mushroom lover! Their white sausage was as good as his German grandmother makes. You can tell so much time and effort was put into each dish by the chefs. Bravo salts cure!

If you want to talk, catch up or are there with a friend who is hard of hearing, this is not the place for you. Not sure why restaurants also have to have music playing when the noise level isalready so high. This was my third or fourth visit. It is worth coming back for the food but the noise level is atrocious. Maybe lunch or brunch would be a better option. We shared the avocado and citrus salad, mussels and the beef tenderloin. The mussels were very large and juicy but without much flavor in the broth. The salad and tenderloin were excellent and the chocolate dessert was spectacular. I just wish the restaurant were not so noisy....

Unfortunately we did not have a memorable or even good meal here. With a 6:30 reservation you would think that not much can go wrong well, it did. Our apps were ok, we started with an avocado, tangerine salad and the mortadella. The mortadella was good and had a nice presentation. We asked for bread we received a yummy, hot off the grill slice of sourdough bread which complemented the dish greatly. The salad should have read lettuce, tangerine with avocado since there was only a few scattered pieces of avocado in the mix. The real problem was with our entrées. I guess we should have expected the worst when our waiter arrived at our table about the time our entrées should have, only to confirm what we had ordered…hellllooo, it's an open kitchen restaurant, the food is cooked/fired less then 8 steps away from our table! Either the Chef or Sous-Chef didn't fire or the waiter didn't enter properly but the order was not complete and as a result the fish order ($28.00 halibut) was held back until the pot roast (the waiter's description was that it was served spicy….spicy is one thing but OVERpowering peppercorn jus is another! This is soooo easy to make right!!) was ready. Spicy Pot Roast good. Halibut dry, tough and unappealing. It was obvious it had been sitting on the plate longer then it should have. There was MAYBE 10-12 guests in the restaurant at the time, no reason to send out mistakes or bad food. I did let the waiter know I was unhappy and when it was time to leave, I took the 8 steps towards the "chef" (where he was scrolling his smart phone for music) and let him know his entrée was under-whelming and dry. After a good few minute culinary conversation, I walked away realizing he just didn't care much. His music however sounded pretty good.

I had been here before for Brunch and really enjoyed the kitchen. I came back for dinner and the food was delicious, we shared a rock crab hash which was really tasty and well balanced had some Californian wine and as a main course we both ordered the special of the day: a flat iron steak which was very good, the only negative was that the air conditioning was so strong that we were wearing our jackets through dinner and our steaks were cold by the time we were half done with them.

My friends and tried some new things: the ale braised pork shoulder and rock crab claws. The braised shoulder was tender and flavorful. The rock crab claws were a good size. We also did the usual favorites-Berkshire pork chop and chicken liver pate. Service was great too-friendly and attentive. This is a great "farm to table" place for Los Angeles-nothing fancy in terms of sauces, but great ingredients and superb execution.

We are two ladies who arrived 15 minutes before the restaurant open. The restaurant is not in a nice area of town and it's easily missed when looking for it because of the dim lights inside and outside. We open the door and walked in and the staff told us we had to wait out side because they were not open yet. My friend refused because it was early evening and cold and dark outside. So we stood and waited to be seated, we were at that time the only customers, so all the tables, about 10 were empty. The music was loud and the lights are so low you have to use the small candles on the table to make out the menu. Around 15 minutes to 6 my husband arrived and placed an order for wine. The hostess brought out the wine and poured it without letting my husband who was standing a ways from the table to read the fuzzing writing on the chalk board. We told her we would wait for him to join us, but she pour some wine into the glass and took it to him while standing at the chalk board. The best I can say is they need some serious help in wait staff training. The best thing about the restaurant is that the food is very good.
