Outstanding meal. Server was quiet and efficient. Food exceeded my expectations again. Only knock was the bourbon shrimp I ordered was overcooked. Everything else was amazing. Thank you

J Gilbert’s never disappoints. The food and service were superb. I just wish it wasn’t so dark in there.

We returned to J. Gilbert’s to take advantage of their gift card promotion and to celebrate our son's lucky win in the St. Jude's Lottery Drawing. As always, the experience was outstanding. I ordered the Copper River Salmon, available for a limited time—it was perfectly prepared and full of flavor. The creamed corn was a standout; the kernels were clearly sliced directly from the cob, with a few still partially attached—fresh, sweet, and delicious. The Poblano Au Gratin Potatoes get better every year—rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced. We also requested Ash as our server. His calm, attentive, and professional demeanor made the evening even more enjoyable. Exceptional food, top-notch service—highly recommend.

I took a large group out for a business meeting and everything was fantastic. I made the reservation 1 hr before as a last minute idea, they were ready and waiting. Our server Jordan was top notch, attentive and caring. The food was 5stars.

I’ve enjoyed J. Gilbert’s over the years. Its blackened steaks are usually a treat. This visit the servers and food were disappointing. Three out of four meals were sent back and newly prepared. No apology was made for a meal costing near $400. Perhaps I’m asking too much.

Best steak I’ve ever had. Tasty and perfectly cooked. I loved the cream corn and sour cream potato puree with it! So yummy. I’ll definitely be back.

My husband and I went for Father’s Day. Both ordered the the prefix. Our filers were cooked to perfection. Our waiter Carlos was also great.

I recently visited J. Gilbert’s and had a mixed experience. I opted for the prix fixe menu, which offered a great variety of three-course options. For my first course, I had the Caesar salad, which was fresh and well-dressed. The main course—crab cake with mashed potatoes—was delicious, with the crab cake perfectly seasoned and the potatoes creamy and flavorful. I ended the meal with the chocolate torte, which was rich and decadent. Overall, the food exceeded my expectations. Unfortunately, the service did not match the quality of the food. Our waiter was largely absent throughout the evening. Drink refills were slow, and we often had to flag someone down just to request water, coffee, or dessert—only to be forgotten again. It took away from what could have been a truly great dining experience, especially since we were celebrating 2 birthdays. J. Gilbert’s clearly knows how to deliver on food, but the service during our visit left a lot to be desired. Hopefully, this was just an off night, as the restaurant has strong potential with its excellent menu.
