Great menu. Delicious food. The waiter was slow getting our order and it did take a while for food to arrive. However, once it did, it was delicious.

The food was incredible! The quality was beyond what I was expecting but it was a pleasant and welcomed surprise. Our server was great also. They checked on us enough but not too much. They were knowledgable about the menu and were able to make great drink recommendations. We came here just so we wouldn't have to venture out in the middle of our day at LACMA but I think we might come back on purpose next time. Highly recommend.

*** Brunch here is nice (Sat/Sun 10:30am-1pm). *** We had the chicken Cobb salad and eggs benedict. We also had a couple of spicy bloody marys to drink. Latin Sounds outdoor summer concerts at 5pm too. *** All-n-all a great way to spend a Sat afternoon. ***

Outstanding service, great food, and amazing vibe sitting out in the courtyard of LACMA. Listening to live jazz at sunset on a Friday night is a great way to start the weekend! The Summer Pasta is a fantastic dish!

The chicken wings are my favorite even though the recipe has changed, and they are not as good as last year's recipe. I wish they would return to last year's recipe.

The person greeting guests was cold and rude. We had to beg a server to take our order, and he made it clear he was doing us a big favor. They were out of the one item on the menu that my friend and I wanted to order. No server ever came to check if we needed anything. My salmon caesar was horrible. The tiny piece of fish smelled and was overcooked. The salad was pre-made and tasteless. The restaurant is so understaffed that it should not be open. LACMA needs a better option for dining. This is not acceptable.

The food had the quality of having been prepared by someone who cared. My feeling is that we could have ordered anything and it would have been gratifying. The host and waiter went out of their way to accommodate us. The host found a perfect place to sit and lowered the window shade for our comfort. The server was completely charming.

I went here with my family for Brunch on a Sunday morning and have so many wonderful things to say about it! The restaurant wasn't too crazy, with most people eating outside on the courtyard. The restaurant was clean and the service helpful and quick. The food was delicious. I highly recommend the Breakfast Pizza and French Omelette. The blueberry pancakes are a real treat and best as a dish for the whole table to share.

We have been to the Ray’s and Stark Bar many times over the last few years during the Friday night jazz events. We’ve always had great experiences with food and service. So the servers were very nice as well as a host and manager- but the service was very lacking last night . I had to go to the bar/ kitchen area three times to to ask someone to get my waiters attention so I can order a glass of wine. That didn’t work so I went to the host and ask him if he could get my waiters attention . Very embarrassing because we had invited guest who had never been there before to join us. We sat for about a 45 minutes after we ate before getting attempt to get another drink. After drinks and dinner, I was not able to get our waiters attention again, so I approached the manager to ask for 2 coffee’s with cream and sugar. He did quickly bring the coffee which was tepid without any cream -I give up!

Well.... this was one of my favorite restaurants. I have been there perhaps 20 times and was always very happy. I came back (6/19/23) and it's WAY different now. The menu has shrunk, and the normal items I have ordered for many years are now a shadow of what they used to be. The salads are tasteless. The waiter said "You haven't been here in a while. . . We have a new chef". 7 months since my last visit and it's now a bad place. If Patina is still running this restaurant, they need to fix it. It's not up to their standards. I'm very sad to see this restaurant (once one of the top ten museum restaurants in the world!) go downhill. Please fix this or I'll have to find a replacement when coming to the 3 museums here. I'm very sorry to have this experience.

Three cheeseburgers among us were messy but good. The ill-conceived poutine of steak and cheesy French fries was not and was sent back. Regular, crisp and salty fries with cheeseburgers was a treat. Desserts — brownie for one and banana cream pie the other — turned out less than satisfying. This place can do better and has, in the past.

This is a nice restaurant and bar where people can have a meal or take a break while they are visiting LACMA. The Food is above average for such a place. I really liked the Thai Salad a lot! The service is pretty bad, with friendly, but clueless servers. It's also important to note that there is a lot of construction going on right now and it is very loud outside. They have a very nice patio that would have been a good people watching place if it weren't so loud.

The food was TERRIBLE! Please bring back the old chef!!! The burrata on toast was a joke. If the extremely thin swipe of something white was burrata I wouldn't know. It was on the very thin slice of toast with a very thin slice of tomato on top. ZERO flavor. WORSE than that was steak frites. It came served in a BOWL with the fries on the bottom smothered in some kind of cheese and SOGGY from the carmelized onion sauce from the steak pieces. The server was very attentive and we should have complained but the music was so loud we had to yell just to communicate to each other. I have been many times for Friday Jazz at LACMA but this is my first this season. A shame really as I live close by and it was nice to have been able to park once listen to music and have dinner.

Terrible. I am EXTREMELY disappointed!!! I reserved a table during a free jazz concert at LACMA, and after being seated, we were informed that there was a $150 minimum per table!! Nowhere on the website or Open Table does it mention this minimum! Spoke to a Manager who offered to move us to a $100 minimum table or go inside. We went inside where cocktails took over 30 minutes and then they brought out a substitute tequila (undrinkable, lower quality) and charged us for the full amount of the top shelf tequila. They eventually took it off our tab after we complained. Overall BAD experience!!!!!

We decided to eat here so that we could sit outside and listen to the music. It was so loud that we moved indoors where we could hear the music an also each other. The pizza was quote good and the Ceaser salad very large and good. the cacio et pepe could have used more cheese. What was outstanding was our server Christof. He helped make the night special or at least make us feel special. Alas, he only works on Friday nights but he has a good day job. We would definitely go back again on a Friday and ask for him; we will check on the music first. We did that for the group playing through Youtube; however, what we heard was not indicative of the artist's performance which in now ay reflects upon the restaurant.

I have eaten at Ray and. sharks many times but this time it was AWFUL. I ordered the Thai salad with salmon, some of the vegetables appeared to be elderly and a bit slimey. The salmon was stone cold snd appeared to have been cooked several days ago, as it was hard and chewy and did not taste fresh.

Husband and I had lunch here on Saturday after touring the La Brea Tar Pits (Page Museum and grounds). It was definitely hit and miss. FOOD Whipped burrata - bland, needed a touch of salt and a drizzle of honey. Falafel and hummus - good Tuna melt - ok, needed salt Cacio e Pepe - bland Meatballs - good SERVICE friendly, but major issues. Specifically asked for meal to be coursed (not all come out at once) and were assured that would happen. Took about 30 minutes to receive appetizers, but then mains came out literally 3 minutes later as we had just taken out first bite of appetizers. Had to set aside the burrata to eat pasta and meatballs while they were hot, sent back the tuna melt to be remade after eating the falafel. Never checked back to see if we wanted a second drink or another bottle of water. Asked server for the check, 15 minutes later when the check hadn’t come, the manager stopped by and we asked for the checking again. When he brought the check, it was wrong - our drinks but the entrees from the next table. Told him it was wrong, he disappeared and never returned.. finally our server came back with the check, again wrong with a different combo of the items we ordered and the other table ordered. Tried a third time - again wrong. Finally, the fourth version of the check was correct. It literally took 40 minutes to get the correct check. The server said that they had split a 4-top table (2 tables pushed together) into two 2-tops, and so the table numbering got messed up, leading to the check confusion. I don’t really blame the server, I blame management. While there were plenty of runners/bussers, our server appeared to be the only server (or perhaps there was one more) and was covering both inside and outside tables (we were outside). And the kitchen should have known not to fire appetizers and mains almost simultaneously. Will we go back? Probably, as we are planning to go to LACMA soon, and we did prefer it to the prepackaged food options.

I was at Rays last year in April & recall the food being much better than what 3 of us ordered there yesterday. The caesar salad was the boring version of a great classic, thai peanut salad =blah, tuna melt cheese wasn’t melted and whats with the blob of pickle relish in the middle of the sandwich? Blech- a couple of good pickle slices would’ve been tastier. On the up side, the pizza was passable. If you’re a bread pudding fan- Do Not Order It Here- you’ll be sadly disappointed maybe even angered by the unbalanced flavor which tasted only of wet egg (no spicing nor vanilla) and the texture that was a soggy mess. Our server was perfectly fine & had we complained there was probably nothing she could’ve done to make the food better. I’ve had great meals there in the past. Hopefully once the new building is opened, Ray’s or whatever new incarnation of it will hire a better chef who’ll oversee the quality & produce a nicer dining experience.
