   Apolline was a wonderful experience as usual. The pork chop was outstanding as were the lamb, salmon, pork belly appetizer and bread pudding! The craft cocktails and champagne were exceptional. The staff was very attentive and made our celebration special! Our go-to restaurant!

   The Apolline restaurant is sooo nice. The ambiance is quaint yet elegant complete with tablecloths dressed in white linen. The food is scrumptious. My wife and I enjoyed the smoked chicken over mashed potatoes and spicy collard greens. The bread pudding and creme brűlée for dessert was wonderful. We highly recommend this restaurant.

   The three of us sat outside as it was such a beautiful day and inside was quite noisy. We were greeted promptly and drink order was taken. About 15 minutes later the drinks arrived and our order was taken. The starter arrived about 40 minutes later. We had to wait another 10 to get silverware after asking the hostess. Our entrees arrived about an hour and 10/15 minutes later. The omelette was good but the large, crunchy broccoli florets were unappealing. The burger and the bun were cooked well done. Very well done. Zero moisture in the meat and the bun was hard as a rock. We went elsewhere for dessert.

   We went for Mother’s Day brunch. Our server was very sweet but didn’t notify us of the menu items that were unavailable until time to place orders. Menu was dirty with food spots, silverware was dirty, beverages came in glasses with other food splotches on them. Brunch went long but was mostly us sitting at a table with no food for more than 45 minutes. It just wasn’t what we would have expected from the good reputation.

   This was a return visit for us, on the occasion of our 42nd anniversary. Our positive memory of a prior visit was more than reaffirmed: Apolline is a delightful, upscale but unpretentious restaurant. My wife and i both had the Verlasso salmon, which was quite wonderful (google Verlasso salmon if you aren't familiar with it; it is truly delicious). Complimentary prosecco to start our meal and rich creme brulee to conclude it, accompanied by some fine wines along the way, made for a perfect dinner. What added to our pleasure was the gracious and warm-hearted service we received from our waiter, Ned. Ned knows his food, and he clearly takes pleasure in assuring the total satisfaction of his diners.

    We love Apolline. Last year we had a couple of bad nights with unacceptably slow service. Tonight and last week that has totally reversed. Food was fantastic and service over the top. We live out of Nola but will definitely return. Those with bad experiences last year MUST give them another chance!!
