The Nicollet Island Inn has stood witness to over a century of change on the shores of the Mississippi River. The Inn is consistently named the most romantic restaurant in the area and its river views have been voted some of the best in the city. An immediately recognizable Minneapolis landmark, the Inn offers world-class cuisine created by Executive Chef Michael Rain , whose innovative and constantly updated menu includes a variety of seafood, steaks and gourmet specialty dishes. Our wine menu has been chosen specifically to compliment the food and highlight producers from the world's leading wine regions.

Nic's bar, just off the main dining room, is a casual, old-world tavern and the patio offers stunning views of the Minneapolis skyline. The Inn is a convenient, comfortable destination for breakfast or lunch meetings while the 3 or 5-course Sunday Brunch is the perfect weekend indulgence.

    It was an absolutely wonderful dining experience. The food, service, drinks, and atmosphere were excellent. We had friends in town from the UK and they were extremely happy with our choice for dinner

    Great food, drinks, and service. We were ther on the 4th of July and expected wonderful fireworks right out the window. We will assuredly do this again!

    Everything about our evening at the Inn was just perfect. The extensive menu choices meant that everyone found something delicious. I asked our waiter to ask the chef to cut my daughter's steak into bite size potions because she has a hard time wielding a knife. It came out perfect - cut and put together so that the cuts weren't visible to anyone but her. We had a lovely table by the windows but not so close that we had to listen to other people's conversations. It was a wonderful way to celebrate the 4th of July!

    Wonderful experience. Everything we hoped for! We were able to have an intentionally slow evening and enjoy each course with a nice view. Great way to celebrate our anniversary.

    I’ve been to the Nicollet Island Inn for weekend brunch 3 times in the last year and found it superlative in every way. For lunch though, on this occasion, it felt like the portions were clearly smaller. The quality was there but they missed the abundance I’m used to for their brunch items, including sandwiches. The waiter was nice but a bit chatty. It was also nice when the chef came out to see how our experience was. However, the baseball cap on his head was a bit at odds with a feeling of elegance I always have at the Nicollet. So, it was a bit of hit or miss compared to what I am used to. In the end though, I will be back. No where else has the beautiful Old World charm it has. Now I’ll know though that lunch might not be the ticket for me.
