Fresh seasonal ingredients and local Pueblo and Northern New Mexican culinary traditions make Amaya at Hotel Santa Fe one of downtown Santa Fe’s favorite restaurants. Our chefs source the best possible ingredients and blend them together to create contemporary menus with nods to the region’s rich Native American history. Amaya’s casual, inviting atmosphere encourages guests to linger on the restaurant’s glass-enclosed patio, which opens to outdoor gardens during warmer months, Nightly Native Dinner Specials.

For the ultimate dining experience, we invite you to enjoy a private dinner in our traditional teepee. Available seasonally (Memorial Day - Labor Day) for two or four guests, this family-style dining is an adventurous and fun experience laid out with traditional blankets, decor and native cuisine.
For Teepee dining an Additional Teepee Charge of $75 will added to bill.

Please contact restaurant for Private Teepee Dining or for additional information at

This was a great find for us out-of-towners. My kids really enjoyed the kids menu selection and my husband and I were very pleased with the food and service. This would be a perfect, romantic, date night spot but suited our family just fine. Thanks for a great dinner!

The restaurant was great- once we got there! We used the map link from the OpenTable to walk to the Amaya from our hotel. The link took is in the opposite direction and kept telling us we had “arrived” downtown near the square. In fact, the restaurant is in the other direction and took us another 15 minutes to hoof to! The host said, oh yeah, I’ve told Opentable about that several times.... they can’t seem to get it right?’?! Otherwise.... a nice experience!

Valentine's day, reservation at 7. Restaurant was not prepared it felt. Had to wait while they put together a table for us. Valentine's day specials were already sold out when we arrived. Had long waits for staff, and for items. Food was pretty good, not exceptional, but portions were on the smaller side for some items. Wine was good, Alexander Valley Cab Sauv. In general, though, a disappointing end to our vacation at Santa Fe.

Cold hotel dining room atmosphere. Very weak wine list. Food just OK. In a town with many choices "just OK" does not cut it.

Dining at Amaya is like being welcomed into the restaurant's family. The food is always nicely prepared and presented. The menu, which focuses on fresh and regional ingredients, including quite a few ingredients associated with Pueblo cuisine, is large enough to offer interest and variety without leaving a diner overwhelmed by endless choices. I do love their portobello sandwich at lunch—so much that I have to remind myself to get something different now and again. The staff is genial and expert, and there seems to be very little turnover, which is in itself a comment about the quality of the establishment. The dining room adapts to the possibilities of the seasons, whether opened to the surrounding garden in the summer or warmed by a cheerful fireplace in the winter. Tables are generously separated and the noise level is low, which encourages conversation and companionship. They won't press you to hurry out at the end of your meal. It appears that walk-ins can usually be accommodated just fine, but it's not a bad idea to make a reservation. Very occasionally Amaya may be taken over by an event relating to a convention or meeting being held at the hotel in which it is located, and making (or being unable to make) a reservation will alert you to that. Even in that case, the restaurant can usually accommodate diners at tables in the pleasant lobby lounge. Plenty of parking is available, although in the summer the lot can get quite full at the height of tourist season. Amaya is grown-up but not glitzy or pretentious, and that's why it has secured a devoted following among locals who relate to that.

My new favorite restaurant in Santa Fe! Excellent choices of food and drinks. We stayed at the Hotel Santa Fe last week, so we had 3 dinners at Amaya. All were excellent. We had several different cocktails over the course of the week which were very good. The atmosphere is off the charts with the fire place and the open view of the outside. The customer service is outstanding. The shift manager called me by name after our first visit. I'll be staying in Santa Fe again in the summer and will book at Hotel Santa Fe and dining at Amaya! You cannot go wrong here!!

We were at Amaya for our second Christmas buffet. It’s well worth a repeat visit. The chef provides a wide variety of food, from seafood to salad to a carving board for lamb and beef. Plenty of vegetables too. And great pies and cakes for desserts. The senior discount is a wonderful boon for older folks, creating a nice holiday dining bargain.

Had dinner here on Christmas Eve, the staff were all very friendly, food was all delicious, courtyards outside the restaurants were a beautiful touch with Christmas decorations. We had lobster bisque, lamb chops, Buffalo rib eye, bison burger, Chile relleno, bread pudding and brownie and every dish was delicious. Good wine selection and the couple cocktails we tried were good as well. We all left happy with our choice and very satisfied! We will definitely be back!!

My wife and I dine here every Monday night after Southwest Seminars (which meets in Hotel Santa Fe.) The food is very much to our liking and the waitstaff has always been attentive and cheerful. We particularly want to mention Lawrence, the dining room supervisor who has been very helpful, both during our Monday night dinners and arranging for and enabling several annual special dinners for groups from 6 to 10 at various time f the year.

While many restaurants in hotels are nothing to write home about, Amaya at Hotel Santa Fe is definitely an exception to the “rule!” The food was delicious and the service was good! The corn bread muffins that came before our meals were very tasty. I had the filet mignon and loved it, especially with the avocado-cilantro chimichurri. The lamb chops were great as well. While there are many choices of great restaurants in Santa Fe, Amaya will certainly not disappoint! There is something for everyone here; it is very kid-friendly as well!

Chose to eat in front of the fire in the lounge instead of the dining room. Food was good but a small split of Prosecco was an outrageous $22 -- more than the price of 2 full bottles at the liquor store. Ouch.

Good food starts with good people. Our server, Odal and table attendant, Leidy...set the standard for good service. Odal's food recommendations were tops. Kudos to management for hiriing such people. Now, I had the elk. Though a tad reluctant, the recommendaiton outweighed any concerns. I was very impressed.; not gamey, the chokeberry cherries softened the meat's flavor. It was tender and delicious. I am glad we listened to the service staff. My wife's salmon was cooked to perfection; tender and flaovorful. Sakads were carefully prepared and all items were presented by a profesional. The food and service were so good that we decided we would stay at the Santa Fe Hotel in a future trip to Santa Fe

The quality of the food and cuisine are high but the service is unprofessional. The food was delivered to us by a guy who literally ran to and from our table with each course. Our main course was delivered while our second course was still on the table. Silverware and water refills had to be requested several times. SUMMARY -high quality food and preparation, amateur service at high prices.

Happy Hour was very good...... Not fond of the HH wine selection.....but the lamb chops on the HH menu for $11.90 were spectacular. I had seen these on the website. In person this included a small frisee salad which was also perfect. Although I met 2 terrific people at the bar to talk with, the bar itself does not have much ambience. The bartender Misty was great. I did not stay at the hotel so I cannot review anything else. Based on the lamb chops, I would certainly recommend your restaurant to others.

AMAYA graciously accommodated our large party of 8 - we had a large round table that made for good interaction. My Jalapeno Margarita was spicy and delicious. The varied menu gave our group options to fit within their own budget - from small plate, lower price, to the more elaborate dinner options - everyone in our group enjoyed their meals. The cornbread muffins brought out upon seating are DELISH! Our server, Adal, was attentive, engaging and a terrific server. Don't believe the "pin drop" location on Open Table's map. Unless it's been updated, it shows the restaurant right in town, just off the main old square. Plug in the address to Google Maps - the location is actually in the Railway neighborhood.

We really loved the food and the service was excellent. At the end of dinner the manager checked on us and we asked for a recommendation for where to find churros. He said he’d ask around and then came back with a few sheets from yelp on reviews of places in the area that had churros! The restaurant was a bit empty though with very few tables with peopl at them. The fireplace was really nice!
