Was there from 6:30 until a little after 9 in the evening on a slow Sunday, each course took about an hour to arrive. Shrimp was black and tough, very overcooked. I also had a hair in my dinner. Presentation of the salad and the only available dessert was great. The building was beautiful though. Music didn't fit the ambiance.

Overall wonderful experience. The food and service were fantastic. The atmosphere so very enjoyable. Our only criticism was that it took way too long between courses. The restaurant wasn’t that full but we had to wait a significant amount of time for our main course. Some time is ok but this was not acceptable.

As always, the food and table service were excellent. Perhaps it was because it was a Sunday evening, the kitchen was slow and there was a long wait between the third course and the entree.

We went for our last night in Colorado and had dinner. It was wonderful. Our server was very kind, she gave us a tour of the manor. The food was delicious. My husband had the elk and he loved it. Glad we were able to visit. We love Colorado ❤️

This was absolutely the worst experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant. We sat down around 8:15 PM and didn’t receive our entrées until almost 11. The entire night was an absolute disaster and while the food that we did receive was actually fairly good there were roughly 45 minutes between each course and when I walked back to the kitchen at one point to find out why there was such a delay there was no one in sight, the entire place was completely empty and all I saw was a platter of salads that should have been getting delivered to our table. It was not like there was a full restaurant where the staff was overwhelmed, we were literally the only table in the entire place. If you cannot handle a table of nine people when it’s the only table in the house there is a huge problem. Secondary to that when I went into the women’s restroom I noted that there were mouse droppings all along the floor boards which is just disgusting. Now that I think about it I can’t believe I actually ate the food considering what I saw in the bathroom but at that point I was starving.

The food was fantastic but the entire meal for two took about three hours. The food is a little bit on the expensive side but the ambience and the history of this building is incredible be sure and take some time to walk around and look at some of the pictures and murals on the walls

The menus we received listed items that were not available - both on the appetizer and entree list. When I placed my order, I was told they were out of those items (lobster bisque and crab cakes). The appetizer soup we ordered was served at the same time as the entree so we could not enjoy one course before the other arrived. The steps of service were missed and the server kept asking if we wanted more water rather than automatically refilling our glasses. Food was not great and the entrees were cold - overall not The Briarhurst I remember from years ago. Also - we were one of three tables occupied in the entire restaurant. Very disappointing dining experience and it was not inexpensive - won’t be coming back and won’t be recommending to anyone.

We waited almost two hours for the food. They made a vegan dish for me that was good. But I would rather have had just a salad or something like that instead of waiting two hours. We love the place and have been there many times. This was an unusual experience. The waiter was doing his best.

We really enjoyed our visit to the Briarhurst. The ambiance was really nice, and the food was outstanding. We had four at our table, and we had the filet mignon, land and sea (elk & shrimp), and chicken alfredo. We paid the extra $20 to have a five- course meal. All of the food was delicious! Our server was so nice and helpful! Overall it was a great experience!

The epitome of service & delicious high-class dining! Our waiter was very attentive and knew when to chat, as well as when to leave us to a romantic dinner. Selecting for 5-course for an additional $20 each was certainly wise, as it adds much more value than the cost, and really made the experience that more special. We selected a wine that I literally could not find available anywhere for sale any longer, and it perfectly complemented our filet mignon and elk tenderloin meals. Select in the lobster bisque is a must for the starter! In addition, the dessert was divine. Definitely a perfect place for an anniversary or indulging a loved one!

Dining at Briarhurst Manor was a lovely experience. The room we dined in was nice, with beautiful fixtures and woodwork on the walls as well as paintings and a gorgeous fireplace. The seating was a little odd since we were sat at a banquette against the window and another couple was fairly close to us on the same banquette. The service was wonderful - we got the 5 course dinner which was good. It did take a while for them to bring out each course, but that is normal in that setting. All of the food was wonderful except for the filet that I ordered as my entrée. It was slightly overcooked (I ordered it medium rare, it was medium well) but it was still delicious and the desert was amazing. I would definitely recommend Briarhurst Manor if you're looking for a more upscale dinner experience in Manitou Springs, CO.

The Lobster Bisque had crawfish tails no lobster. Therefore should have been called crawfish bisque. My salmon top layer was dried out. Didn't want to complain to the chef, since I overhead his (the chef's conversation with a table who just complaint) That he been working over 40+ hour's straight because another chef no show.

We waited 90 minutes before being served the main course. My bison steak was good, but my wife was not impressed with the crabcake appetizer she had nor her lobster eggs benedict. My appetizer was the lobster bisque soup, but it was much too spicy for me. I didn't expect lobster bisque to be spicy at all, and I'm not sure it is supposed to be that way.

It was Mother’s Day. The night before our reservation, someone called to see if we would be okay to sit on the patio. We said no because the weather forecast predicted high winds. We arrived for our reservation on time but we’re told we would be on the patio. Sure enough, the wind was high and tent walls were rolled down. Unfortunately, our table and dishes were covered in tree debris. They swapped the dishes but left the table cloth. Then the main course arrived and my wife’s Eggs Benedict had no egg on it. Generally, the food was tasty but combined with the experience, it was hardly worth the $100 per person bill. Disappointed because we had dined there in the past with excellent experiences.

We were given a Groupon and probably would not have visited otherwise- we are so glad that we had the chance because we had such a lovely dinner! We were greeted warmly by David who was attentive and took great care of us. Our server Tyler L was fantastic- he had a great personality and gave us excellent service. We had a little room all to ourselves which was really nice. It's a beautiful place, and very clean for how old it is. We got the five course dinners and really got a kick out of the presentation and beauty of each item. We've never been served an amuse bouche or intermezzo of lemon sorbet before! And our entrees came with a flower on the plate- very beautiful! We felt so fancy. :) The food was delicious. My tomato bisque was too salty but every single other thing was absolutely perfect- just the right temperature, texture and flavor. My husband said he'd order exactly the same thing (lobster bisque, land and sea, cheesecake) in the future because it was all so good (he never does that so that is a huge compliment to the chef). My beef bourguignon was incredible- I was surprised it wasn't a stew but just slices of meat over a smashed yellow potato but wow it was so tender and perfectly flavored. My husband loved the three cheese bread. The wildflower butter was so pretty! We had a slow but comfortably paced two hour dinner which just felt so relaxing, comforting and simply lovely. This is not a place we can afford normally, but we will definitely keep it in mind for the future for a very special occasion because the food, ambience and service were so top notch.

Even though the food was excellent, it took to long to get to the table, and there was too much time between courses. The staff seemed understaffed and for a establishment that is striving to be a high end dining destination, it needed to have more help busing tables. In general, there is no attention to detail, for example, you could not even figure out where the front door was to the place. I saw at least 8 parties go to the wrong doors. The signage does not exists. The landscaping does not lend itself to lay out a clear mental picture as to what you should be doing. There is an old unpaved driveway to the right of the house which is not welcoming, but that is the door. Once inside, there are spider webs between the drapes and the walls. The hems our pulled free from the curtains. To be honest, it does not seem that anyone is really paying any attention to the small things. It is a though they don't ask themselves, "if I was a customer, what would I notice?" It would not even cost a lot to fix these issues. I was a Naval Base Commanding Officer for six years so I know a little about running a facility. If the stuff out in the open looks like this, can you imagine what it must be like behind closed doors.

We had a great time! Sarah, our waitress, was the only one serving that night and she did a fabulous job! My husband and I each ordered the Land & Sea entree (elk and shrimp). My elk was fabulous! and the shrimp were tasty. I just think that entry would be best served as the elk alone - kudos to the chef on the expert way he cooked our elk! :) It's sad for me to see so few people coming to the Briarhurst now. I remember when every table would be filled. Hopefully it was just a slow night.

Tyler was our chosen server for years. However, as of February he's now the chef. And what a chef! Everything was absolutely exquisite for my wife's birthday last night. The amuse-bouche that we started with was amazing - a very flavorful and delicious combination of our new chef's creation consisting of pesto mousse, sun dried tomato, and parsley. Next came the standard salad for my wife, which is always perfect for her. I usually get and enjoy the salad too but this time I chose Tyler's broccoli cheddar soup. Fantastic! Then came the mango sorbet which Tyler has know for years is our very favorite. Next was medium bison tenderloin for my wife that she loved and a well done Filet Mignon for me, as usual. Tyler got both perfect, even mine, without overcooking it at all, and everything entree related was completely delicious. In the middle of all of this we shared mushrooms as an appetizer and then I had mushrooms as a side with my filet. Tyler put microgreens and some other things on the mushrooms and their flavor was absolutely incredible. We topped the meal off with crème brulée for my wife and berries 'n' cream for me for a great finish! I ate every last bite of everything and now we're very much looking forward to going back next month for my birthday. If I could I'd give Tyler and our entire dining experience at the Briarhurst last night 6 stars!

The food was definitely fine dining. The presentation beautiful. We love the historic atmosphere and only had hoped for a fire in the fireplace on a frigid evening. However, I’m sure there was a reason they couldn’t do fires in each of the rooms. The prices seemed high to us, but we know with all that’s going on in our economy we are not questioning the cost of presenting the high-quality food.

We have been dining at Briarhurst for years. Just before COVID hit the USA we ate there and the food was mediocre the service was poor. That was at least two years ago. We had read several poor reviews but decided to return hoping that the experience might be similar to the first few times we had gone. Vowing to keep an open mind we made reservations. We were seated at a nice table by friendly wait staff. The menu for the five course meal had variety and we were offered the chance to order off the main menu, however one was not present at the table. The prices were on the high side of reasonable but acceptable. The food was hot when served. Our server though friendly really should have a cheat sheet for himself to help him remember what order and when to bring the next course. The background music was actually songs and singing. The place has character and history that we enjoy. We will return in the future.

It took an hour to get beverages and overall the meal took over 2 hours and we didn’t order appetizers or desserts. Cocktails were trash and wine was stale. My salmon was over cooked and the couscous was cold. Veggies were way over cooked and very sparse. Would not recommend to anyone. Save yourself the money and time.

Soup was great but elk was overdone. 2 guests across from us were incredibly rude and making a scene. Nice place but like every place they are understaffed so be prepared for a long wait and have some empathy. They should have some entertainment or tours through the estate because it is beautiful.

My daughter and I came in to celebrate her 21st birthday at the restaurant and we received above and beyond service! I believe the server/chef was Tyler and he was training a brand new server. They were both really sweet and gave us a tour of Manor, told us fun "ghost stories" and made us some AWESOME lemon drop martinis while we were waiting for our food. Jupiter the cook wanted to make sure the plate presentation was just perfect for my daughter's birthday and he did not disappoint, all the way down to the dessert! Thank you so much for being hospitable, kind and serving delicious food and great drinks! You're the best!!
