The food and service were outstanding. We had the 8 oz filet and lyonnaise potatoes which were both perfect and delicious. The bread pudding for dessert was fantastic to say the least.

I took my mother here for Mother’s Day. I love all things New Orleans, and I travel there OFTEN; so I anticipated fully flavored food. It was just okay; and at their price point “just okay” is not good enough. The texture of the turtle soup was pasty and horrible. The oysters were bland and the succotash base was a bit too al dente for me. The crab cakes were delicious. The lamb chops didn’t make the cut - hardly any flavor. The salmon presented well but failed in taste. The highlight was the table-side preparation of the bananas foster. Nice server. Good presentation but the food missed the mark.

Rey’s is a step up from your standard chain restaurant, offering a more elevated dining experience without quite reaching the polish or consistency of high-end steakhouses like Ruth’s Chris or Capital Grille. The menu is solid, and the atmosphere aims for upscale, though it stops short of feeling truly refined. The clientele was quite diverse—not only in dress, which ranged from well-appointed to jeans and t-shirts—but also in purpose. During our visit, there were couples on date nights, groups celebrating special occasions, and even a family enjoying dinner with young children. It’s clearly a spot that appeals to a broad crowd. While the owner did make his rounds through the dining room, the gesture came across as more of a formality than a genuinely warm or engaging interaction. It was a nice touch in theory, but didn’t significantly enhance the hospitality of the experience. Overall, Rey’s offers a pleasant evening out with decent food and a versatile environment. It's a fine option if you're looking for something above casual, but it doesn't quite deliver the level of polish or attention to detail that defines top-tier dining.

As always Rey’s was wonderful. I had requested a quiet table for my husband and I to celebrate with my father’s on his 94th birthday. Rey set us up in a private room. We had a wonderful time and the service and meal was superb. Nora took great care of us and Rey personally checked on us. It doesn’t get any better!
