We are missing some of the regular menu items. Beet salad, foie gras appetizer, burrata appetizer, and short rib entree all gone from the menu. All menu sections seemed shorter and limited.

We were big fans of this place, but hadn't been in awhile. They have new ownership and it is not the same. First, we had to wait 30 minutes beyond our reservation for a table. It was very loud and busy, but to make it worse, we were seated in a small room next to a very large, loud party. We could barely hold a conversation. We shared the stuffed mushroom appetizer and then I had greek salad and sea bass. The mushrooms were cold and all of the food was medocre. The service was slow and confused. At one point, we were served the wrong table's dishes which were then collected back from us with hardly a word about it. We waited a long time for our entrees and also to have our waters refilled. This restaurant used to be really special and the food used to be excellent. It is still very beautiful, but sad to say everything else was either just meh, or worse.

I WAS disappointed with our seating because I had specifically requested patio seating. Without any explanation we were seated in the 'wine room', the 5 of us-while nice, I should have been asked whether that change suited me. VREY POOR customer service!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Food was great. Service was horrible. I realize it’s restaurant week, but restaurants should be prepared for that. I had to flag someone down to get water! Took a,one time to get our entree. Went with another couple. Was not given the option for separate checks. When asked waiter said he would split it down the middle which is not what we wanted. We gave been to several restaurant week venues this month and they are handling the crowds well. The service last night was awful.

Sorrento was a wonderful experience from start to finish. There was live music playing on the piano near the bar as we walked in, which set the tone for the whole evening. They seated our group of six in their private room, and it was the perfect setup — intimate enough that we could all talk and enjoy each other’s company without competing with the noise of the main dining room. Every one of us enjoyed our food, and the service was excellent throughout. Our server Sophie deserves a special mention. She was attentive, warm, and genuinely made the night that much better for our whole table. If you are looking for a place in Houston for a group dinner that feels like an occasion, Sorrento is it. We will absolutely be back.
