Experience the ambiance of the Victorian Old West as we serve you an array of eclectic culinary specialties.

When preparing the Mahogany Grille menu, our award-winning staff gives special focus to farm-fresh recipes that represent new styles with old west flavors. We hand-cut our steaks in our butcher shop, carefully select our foods, and incorporate products by local growers when available creating a mosaic of tastes and textures.

We take pride in being well-versed in fine wine and spirits. Complimented with our aromatic food, our wines and spirits make quite a delicious impression.

We’ve been enjoying The Mahogany Grill at the Strater Hotel for over 40 years. We utilized the Open Table app for reservations. Simple and seamless process. The meal was outstanding; very reasonably priced and the service was top shelf. The atmosphere? Well, what can you say about an establishment that has survived over 135 years? Miss the Diamond Belle Theater though! If you want an outstanding meal, great service, and welcoming atmosphere The Mahogany Grill at The Strater Hotel is for you..

The food was really good! Our ribeyes were tender and melt in your mouth. The kids Mac and cheese was huge! Our waiter was really good but got overwhelmed a bit at the end and things were much slower. Our food took about an hour to come out so that was a bit frustrating.

We were very excited to go. It was recommended by our concierge on the train. Two of us ordered the Bison steak and it was very tough and chewy, not at all worth the cost. The service was good but slow, and we also had to sit next to the glass door that lead into the bar on the other side, which we became very noisy and disruptive to our dinner overall, not a good experience.

Everything the four of us ordered was absolutely delicious. The adult candy appetizer, along with the deviled eggs with mole verde, were outstanding! Both the ribeye and Herbert (filet with peppercirn sauce) were AMAZING! The waitress was great, very attentive, and allowed 3 of the 4 of us to sub out veggies if we preferred something other than what came with our entrees. Nice and quiet atmosphere in a smaller restaurant. Make reservations. We also stayed in the Strater hotel...very nice.

I really enjoyed my ribeye with blue cheese sauce. My husband’s bison was really tough—not recommended. We’ve had better wedge salads but appreciated the chilled bowl. Nice wine list. Service was friendly but spotty.

REALLY enjoyed our dinner here. The hostess and Kenya our waitress couldn’t have been nicer and the food was OUTSTANDING!! The setting is spectacular and full of history and artifacts. Highly recommend this place if you are in Durango.
