   This restaurant constantly scores as one of the top Italian restaurants in LA, probably because they tell you so. Their own deceptive marketing convinces gullible customers to keep returning to this below average establishment. They are SO busy that the servers have to run around the dining room and back to the kitchen. Everything is done at such high speed it’s amazing they don’t end up face down in the tiramisu. Which for unsuspecting customers is distracting, exhausting and just plain weird. Have you ever seen servers running inside a restaurant before? Well we did, multiple times during the meal. Nothing subtle, chic or stylish about the service. Very competent and attentive but totally rushed and unromantic. The dishes are hit and miss. Twice the price they should be. The penne was not fresh and under seasoned. The bread was dry and flat like matzah with nothing to put on it or dip into. They served it with a weird couscous mix which rolled off the matzah. That was, for me a clue, that the meal to follow was going to be weird. Honestly, I don’t get this restaurant. I don’t know why people come here. It’s overpriced and they turn the tables so fast that you feel like a paycheck rather than a customer. It’s as if this restaurant is having a big laugh at everyone for returning. I won’t be going back.

   The food was AMAZING!!! The Risotto was the best I have ever had with tons of seafood in it and the best quality. It had no shells which was perfect!!! My partner had the Veal Shank Angolotti which was done perfectly. Both dishes needed zero salt and came out hot and full of flavor. The staff was super friendly as well. We will be back!!

    A neighborhood gem that continues to put out amazing food with excellent service. The zucchini flowers are mind blowing, spaghetti with sea urchin is to die for, my wife had the octopus which was amazing and finished off with the Branzno which she loved. Great job Gino and the rest of the crew.

    This restaurant has been around forever and it's clear why. The atmosphere and food is very authentic and the service by the (mostly) Italian staff is excellent. The braised artichokes were excellent as was the bruschetta. The pasta was ok, not great, and brought to the table before we were finished with our appetizers. Not a sin, but not something a fine dining restaurant would do.

    The service was great and it's a nice restaurant but the food portions were very small, very expensive and very standard flavor wise. I'd recommend a less expensive place if you're interested in pizza/pasta. The pasta was undercooked and undersauced. The pizza had fresh ingredients but was missing salt completely. We also had the branzino which was cooked nicely but the sides were very basic and the portion was small.

    First time at Angelini. We did more family style and shared our dishes. Veal Milanese, Veal Bone Marrow, Spicy Vodka Penne and the Tiramisu were my fave dishes. All the staff were attentive and friendly. Had a great evening.

    Been there many times and usually love the food. This time, very mediocre. Pizza was undercooked and the pasta was good but not special. Hope this is not the new normal for this one time rockstar restaurant.

    As usual, food continues to be amazing. Beef carpaccio with black truffle was quite tasty. Zucchini flowers in the spicy marinara sauce were fantastic. Finished off with the pasta with lobster, mussels, clams and calamari in a red sauce. Best ever. Service, as usual was amazing. Cant wait to go back..

    Given the price level this was not worth it. The service was terrible, our server had no personality and very little knowledge of the menu. The host was also very difficult to speak to and gave robot like responses. The ambiance was chaotic and overcrowded and the food was good not great. Definitely not worth nearly $200 for a normal meal for two let alone a celebratory engagement dinner which I noted on the reservation but nobody even bothered to mention

    This has been one of my favorite restaurants in LA for many many years. Even so, this may be the last time I go here. First of all, this is a fine dining restaurant and they allowed a dog to be inside the restaurant. This is unsanitary to say the least. Why were they not seated outdoors? Is this against a code? If not, it should be. Secondly, both dishes I usually order are $10 more than just a year ago. Prior to Covid it was $15 less. I understand inflation and restaurants have struggled during Covid. I really do. I just can not justify this increase. Lastly, this was the first time I had poor service. The table with the dog was getting phenomenal service. I’m assuming they were regulars. The servers were very quick and short with us. No added chit chat even though we tried. No apologies for getting one of the orders incorrect. They were very busy entertaining the table with the dog. The restaurant was half empty inside. There is no excuse for the lack of service. It ruined the entire mood of our lunch.
