We were very much looking forward to our dinner at Sweet Basil. Our last time there in 2021 was spectacular with amazing service, ambience and food. We expected the same this time. It did not deliver. We showed up 30 minutes early for our reservation to try and get a table on the back patio, since it’s not available for reservation. We were informed by the greeting staff that we needed to come back closer to our reservation time so they could seat the reservations before ours. We came back 20 minutes later and were seated inside with no mention of the patio. We decided to leave because the dining room was very stuffy and hot. The staff then gave us an option of the front patio, with no view. We gave up and accepted, because we were hungry. The food, waiter and sommelier were great. The experience itself not so much. We won’t be returning.

A favorite spot every time we are in Vail. This time, the 'bread' w the feta was slightly stale and the gnocchi was very salty. I'm a salt lover but that was about all I could taste. Wait staff wasn't the most attentive or helpful this time around either.

As always, Sweet Basil was exceptional. It is not just my favorite vacation restaurant, it is my favorite restaurant anywhere, anytime.

We had a 5pm reservation and needed to leave by 7 for a show at the amphitheater. When we checked in they acknowledged we were celebrating my 60th birthday. We waited to be seated for 20 minutes. Our server was aware we needed to leave at 7, he basically ignored our table, spaced out appetizers (30 mins between) and we ended up being rushed. We didn’t have time to recognize my birthday and he was rude when left tossing candy on to the table as we departed. I chose Sweet Basil for this celebration since we have been there many times. This was BEYOND disappointing.
