We believe that when a meal is prepared and cooked fresh with the best ingredients, it not only tastes better it makes you feel better. Of course, this takes time. But we’ve got time. We go here often. The food is always excellent and right now there is a tuna melt that is fabulous during lent. Servers are always pleasant and on top of things.

Excellent service and always top quality food. Since we were here for lunch during restaurant week, the specials were a great addition to the regular menu. A great spot for a casual lunch or dinner and fun happy hour!

Came especially for Restaurant Week lunch special with eleven fellow Zia Singers. The cheeseburger, Frito pie and kale salad were all tasty and our waitress did a great job of taking care of all of us with patience.

Well, this was a surprise. As a new resident of Santa Fe and a first timer at the Plaza Café, I was treated to a great place, friendly atmosphere, exceptional service and dynamite food! This will be a regular "go to" spot for us!

We ate at the bar as it was more inviting than the dining area which was too bright and not with a warm environment! Our bartender, a tall fellow with a super personality and wine smart, made the evening really enjoyable.

We loved the food, the service was great. Did not like the seating as we were next to the kitchen door and I am sure we could of changed it but our guest arrived before us and did not want to make a fuss and I guess someone has to sit next to the kitchen.

I love going here. The staff is so welcoming, there's never a wait, lots of cozy booths to sit in and enjoy the person you're dining with. The menu is expansive and gluten-free friendly. Everything is delicious and bonus: breakfast served all day!

Visiting museums downtown I most frequently go to the Plaza Cafe on the Plaza so this visit to the Plaza Cafe Southside was an unexpected delight. We were looking for a place to get reservations in the midst of Indian Market and we got so much more! I had forgotten what a great restaurant this is! The service was great, patient, while our out of town guests surveyed the unfamiliar menu, helpful in explaining unfamiliar choices, we couldn’t have asked for nicer service. Could a substitution be made because of an allergy? Of course! The food served was perfectly lovely all around the table. (The reservation is in error there were four of us.) I didn’t taste everything but everything looked great. Our vegetarian enjoyed her avocado tacos. My fish tacos were far and away the best I’ve had in Santa Fe. They have a chipotle salsa that is just terrific! The Plaza Cafe Southside is known for their desserts. I’ve never ordered any but this time we had to. My wife ordered the coconut cream pie for us to share. One day in the future I will drop by and just order that for a meal. Our lunch was huge success, our guests enjoyed it, we will be returning much more frequently. Terrific place.

We have been to the Plaza Cafe Southside many times. This time it was a busy weekend in Santa Fe. We reserved a table to make sure we would not have to wait long with 2 kids. When I arrived the hostess skipped me several times to ask others arriving after me to assist them. Once another patron agreed with me that I had been in line it was only a short wait to be seated. The staff seemed a bit overwhelmed and rushed which earned them several trips back to the kitchen to get things after not listening to requests, but the food was great as always. Considering the timing we expected a few glitches and were glad to eat.

Food was excellent and reasonably priced. They warn about the heat of their chile, but it wasn’t very hot...I’ll give it a medium. The food is as good, if not better than the original on the plaza, but without the crowds. Definitely worth checking out if you don’t mind a short drive out of downtown.

We've been traveling for 3 weeks and I have to say that this spot was disappointing . We have spent much less to have more food that tastes better. I was really looking forward to the homemade guacamole and this was one of the reasons why I made reservations in advance for this location, but they were out by 7:30pm. Thought it was pricey for what we got (small portions) and didn't love that they add 20% for gratuity when 5 or more people are dining. I got the steak enchiladas with green chile,my husband got the beef burrito and my teen daughter the fish tacos,and the rest kids meals. I would give my meal a 6, my husband gave his a 5, the fish tacos did get an 8. The margaritas did the job, but didn't taste very good. The staff was friendly so that was a plus and though the selection of baked goods left was small (the menu features over 20 desserts)we did enjoy the quad leches cupcake we took back to our hotel.
