We had a reservation and we got there on time . We were never seated. We were ignored for almost an hour so we left to go eat somewhere else . It was very disappointing and embarrassing, because we had invited another couple with us.

Had a big problem. restaurant was closed for wine tasting party. Why didn’t’t you catch this. The owner showed us that he had blocked the date. We ended up sitting at the bar. They nicely let us do HRW.

Best kept secret in Houston. I have heard of this place for 10 years and never went. My wife and I randomly went on a Monday night and the chef was able to make us whatever we wanted. Food was delicious and house wine was better than most house wines. Truly the best filet mignon I have had in a long time. This beats most high end restaurants in Houston. I am a foodie/Houstonian, so my word is gold. Plus, kitchen closes at midnight most nights so there will be room for you late eaters.

I don't have words to describe the amazing food at this restaurant. Yusuf did a delicious two varieties chicken platter for our table. The piano live music was over the top. Love the food, the music and the staff.

After being told this was a must-try restaurant, we decided to go for dinner. It was absolutely the best experience we have had. Every dish, from the salad, to chicken, fish, and steak was finger-licking delicious. The banana foster presentation and taste was out of the world..

First let me say my wife and I weekly choose a restaurant To eat at in the Houston area. This was hands down the worst dinner and service we have ever experienced. The chef was extremely abrasive, rude, intrusive, argumentative and I’ve had better food from a microwave out of a box at 2:30am. First, the service was non existent. Second, we ordered a steak medium and it was equivalent to a leather boot. We refused to eat it and he then came to our table and reached over my wife and started cutting into it as if he was going to share a small piece with each person in the restaurant. Then he proceeded to argue and flash his dirty cell phone as a flashlight to see all around our food. After, his antics he took the steak as if he was going to bring us another out and make it right but then came back with the same one and argued with us again. Needless to say he made us feel very uncomfortable. Not to mention the vegetables were cooked as if I had just picked them from the garden. After we asked for the check my wife needed to excuse herself to the ladies room and she was confronted by the chef on her way back. He berated her and continued to be argumentative and express the steak was cooked correctly and we were the only ones who had ever complained. We paid the $250 tab (before tip) and left to never come back again. I left a 5% tip on top of the tab simply because the waiter that cleaned our table was not at fault and I feel he at leased deserved to be compensated and not held accountable for the chef or managers behavior. I do not recommend going here ever. If you want a back alley chef, horrible service and a Steak 48 ticket cost then go for it but I would stay far far away.

The open menu concept was a good surprise. Every dish was very tasty and flavorful. Very well prepared and presented. The host was charming and helpful with our food choices. We were quite an international group and everyone was complimentary. The piano player/singer added that special difference to the atmosphere. He even invited one of our guests to play. A totally enjoyable evening. We will be back.

Fuads HRW menu looked impressive online, but the execution was lackluster. I chose the lobster bisque, Caesar salad, lamb shank and bananas foster. There was very little seasoning, if any. I was so excited to try this restaurant, hoping to add a neighborhood gem to my list, but I will not return.

Hadn’t been here in a few years due to COVID and we’re greeted with open arms. Joseph, the chef provided us with outstanding selections from appetizers to the main course. We love that there’s no menu. You express your preferences and Joseph prepares something outstanding. Our appetizer of bacon wrapped quail and shrimp was delicious. My husband’s lamb chops were fabulous and my grilled salmon on a bed of spinach was amazing. At the end of our meal we were treated to Bananas Foster prepared table side. Our bottle of a 2016 Izadi Tempranillo was wonderful. We truly enjoy dining here in this small, quiet restaurant where the service and food are outstanding. We’re treated like family.

On google, they said opened at 6. We came at 6h10 outside still see chairs on the top of the tables, service was not good, it looks like the owner plus and waiter are on their phone while we stand at the front desk for 4 minutes ( they did not know that customers came into the restaurant). The water had the bug on top ( that is not a good sign at the beginning). There is no menu, just tell them what you want, the lamb I ordered is ok, the steak (is ok) and lobster is overcooked it is so chewy. The bill came out was over 200$ which is not totally worth it, no live piano on weekend too.

FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE! We've known about Fuad's for decades but never ventured outside the Loop for it. Then, we saw it referenced somewhere and had just been saying we wanted to try something very different. At the risk of giving our ages away, it felt like something our grandparents would have experienced when they were younger (or even great grandparents) - this place is such a throwback we almost expected a film crew to pop up. It's intimate and cozy with very gentle acoustics so you can hear everything perfectly. I admit we tested the restaurant's claim to be able to order anything with items that aren't always or readily available like blue cheese stuffed olives in our martini and osso bucco which is very distinctive (still blown away they had it! and it was excellent!). We debated against ordering items like steak or pasta that entire restaurants specialize in but I ordered a pasta dish that was as good as anything a Vallone restaurant could offer (for non-Houstonians reading this, Tony Vallone established the standard for Italian food in Houston). When the bill came, we scrutinized the cost of each item and not one item was unreasonable (cocktails, wine, appetizers and entrees). In fact, we have paid more for lesser quality dishes elsewhere. We enjoyed ourselves so much we have been telling everyone about it for the past few days and definitely recommend this as an experience everyone should try.

This was the worst $200+ dinner my wife and I have ever experienced. First course: my escargot were teeny, tiny and bathed in some sort of dark smothering; my wife had inedible artichoke dip. 2nd course: I had wedge salad without blue cheese as advertised, my wife had Caesar salad without croutons. 3rd course: my steak was covered in circa 1964 dark, thick gravy, my wife had dry duck swimming in cherry juice. On the table understeamed , underseasoned mixed vegetables. Dessert: menu said "flaming bananas foster" but we were served warm banana ice cream sundaes prepared from afar. The $100 bottle of Belle Glos 2019 was excellent but we were charged $110 but at that point we didn't care. The best thing at Fuad's is Geoff on the piano but if you go, go late to have a gin & tonic, after having dinner elsewhere.

The food was cold...not like warm, barely room temperature. From the bread, to the lamb, steak, sauce & vegetables....cold! No questions about the sides, just, "I'll bring something out to share" Awful!

Too expensive for the experience. The only good thing was the steak... and you can get same quality meat elsewhere. Restaurant was very dirty, restrooms disgustingly dirty, table was not set, even with a confirmed reservation, did not feel welcomed by chef, actually he seemed annoyed we were there, only reason we stayed was because we were celebrating my son’s 18 birth day and he had good memories from this place. Waiters didn’t talk to us at all. Would not recommend, would not go back.

Food is always amazing at Fuads. Been going for as long as I can remember and Joseph and JR always take amazing care. Although they don’t have a “menu” they always have the thing you want. Look forward to returning.

The worst service I have ever encountered in my 63 years. Would not recommend. We left after an hour and and a half of sitting at our table with no one stopping at our table. Worst valentine dinner ever. Went for pizza instead and had a much better experience.

One of my all time favorite restaurants in Houston. Tucked into a non descriptive shopping center behind the Palm, don't let appearances distract from the experience. No menu is way cool and I always receive a warm reception from the staff. No joke, Chef Joseph can make a glass of water taste great.

Sorry, I can not recommend this restaurant. It is too dark, seriously too dark. Dirt all over ceiling near AC vents. Food ranges from good to subpar. Server was not friendly. Too many great restaurants within a few doors to choose to eat here. Two pluses- large serving sizes and well stocked bar. Fuad’s needs a complete renovation and a better attitude toward their customers.

very quaint restaurant with attentive staff and owner! delicous! my party of 6 all had hrw menus and everything was absolutely wonderful! crab bisque, mushrooms with lump crab, escargot as first course, mixed green and bacon wedge salad for our second course. third course ranged from sautéed grouper with crab, stuffed chicken, roasted duck and lamb shank. owner even gave us a nice mixed veggie plate to go along with our meal. finally cherries jubilee, bananas foster for some sweets at the end! this place is so yummy and the owner is so interactive. they have regulars who come here nightly and even a piano man around 9pm. we will be back again soon, it will be on my mind til we do!

I don't recommend because the owner needs to make improvements. Our table of 4 visited Fuad's 8/17/19 for Houston Restaurant Weeks. I wanted to experience for myself other reviewers expectations. We arrived at 6:30 we discovered when we got home. Going to the restroom was another feat as a result of the cramped space. We could not see our food. We used our mobile flashlight to see if our steaks were medium & medium rare. We received naked dishes, as our vegetable accompaniments were left out & they were brought after we were through dining (cold & bland). I even had to get up & retrieve forks for my table. The tables alongside the winerack received very bad service. Using a wine application I can say all of the wine is marked beyond reasonable market value. Because this is a highly rated & expensive restaurant, we expected more. We were disappointed but tried to enjoy ourselves. My advice is DO NOT go during HRW. We felt sorry for the hostess who also had to assume the role of bartender. We felt bad for the 2 waiters who were stretched beyond capacity. I know the chef must have been exhausted. We still left a nice tip only because the attendants were overworked and overwhelmed. They did have live music around 10 pm and the gentleman entertainer was EXCELLENT! Despite my review, we enjoyed our appetizers, salads & Steaks. Fuad's is small, dark, & looks like an 18th century dungeon. The manager kept a calm demeanor and was nice but he knows this was not a good night for the restaurant. If we return, it will be for a cocktail & entertainment. That's all!

Top notch service. The Chef kept checking on us to make sure we were satisfied, we were. The staff was friendly and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious. Everything was mouthwatering. I had escargot, wedge salad with house made yummy bleu cheese dressing, red fish topped with shrimp and lump crab and the best bananas foster I've ever had.
