Welcome to Pueo’s Osteria, an Italian-inspired, inviting restaurant that provides great food, prepared from scratch daily, complimented with a stocked wine list and set in a delightful osteria environment. Co-Proprietor & Chef James Babian focuses on original creative dishes, pairing the finest, authentic Italian products with select seafood, produce and meats from boutique farms (sourced locally whenever possible), including “farm-fresh” products from local farmers’ markets.
Pueo's is located at the new Waikoloa Plaza in Waikoloa Village with ample free parking and designated pick-up stalls right outside the restaurant.
The "Pueo" is a nocturnal owl indigenous to Hawaii, which symbolizes Chef's focus on serving dinner and into the evening hours. Pueo's Osteria caters to locals and visitors via sit-down, bar and take-out. Engaging service, approachable pricing, great flavors and a lively atmosphere await at Pueo’s Osteria – food, wine & fun … "where the night owls meet."

Pueo's is the best Italian restaurant in Hawaii. The food and service is consistently outstanding. The menu is traditional Italian but the ingredients are locally sourced. The results are always delicious.

Our dinner was quite relaxing on the patio, with very good service (Darcy) and food. We had a variety of food items, including Kona Shrimp Scampi appetizer, Hearts of Palm Panzanella, Caesar Salad, Mozzarella Garlic Bread, Lasagna (a special), Tagliolini con Pesto, and a special dessert of cheesecake with bourbon whipped cream. Everything was really tasty. As we arrived before sunset, the patio was just a tad bit warm, but overhead fans help with the circulation. Also, nice shades have been installed which helped keep direct sunlight from disturbing us. Overall it was a nice experience, and we will visit Pueo's again.

We brought my dad here for Father’s Day, but it’s not our first time here. Dad wanted to come for the Prime rib pre-fixe special which he said was delicious minus the veggies not being cooked enough. I tried them and agreed. It was a good value at $69 as it included bread service, choice of salad, and dessert. I wish cheesecake was always available because every time I’ve had it on holidays I have enjoyed it so much. My husband and I were pleased that the regular menu was also available and we both ordered the cheese and spinach ravioli. The ravioli is homemade and delicious! It is pricey for a pasta though at $36. We also ordered a lasagna to go which was phenomenal. Probably the best lasagna we’ve ever had, but again pricey at $36. That said it could definitely be shared and be enough for 2 people. I’d order this again for sure, but it isn’t a regular menu item. It should be! I’d come here to eat more often if it were more affordable, but we’ll probably stick to holidays and special occasions. It’s definitely one of my favorite restaurants on the island! Service is always great.

We had a fabulous dinner for a birthday tonight! The food was amazing & delicious as always, everyone was happy all around. Our waitress Amy, was really the best!! I wish I could take her with me to all the restaurants and her be my one and only server. Her energy was superb! I will be requesting her on future visits. Thank you Pueo’s!!
