   I’m sorry but my steak was like a hockey puck . I ordered a filet and for diet restriction I didn’t want it smothered in butter and didn’t want to complain but it was dry and had zero flavor . Bread basket was hard and not warm bread as they used to deliver. I do like the Mac and cheese and scalloped potatoes .The butter cake was bomb! The waiter was very nice but I was disappointed with my filet for the price I paid . It needed flavoring and it was overcooked

   Lots of gems in the menu and the wine list. Try the bacon steak. Knowledgeable servers. Always enjoy the experience.

   I went to Mastro’s Steakhouse to celebrate my mom for Mother’s Day, and it was such a great experience. This was my third time going, and it’s always amazing. The waitress was so nice and made us feel really special. I ordered the filet mignon it was super tender and cooked perfectly. The sides were delicious, and of course, we had to end with the butter cake. It never misses!

   Absolutely Disgusting - One Star I can't believe how bad our Mother's Day brunch at Mastro's in Costa Mesa was. The buffet was a joke—the food looked like it had been sitting there for hours, and honestly, it looked like something you'd expect from a cheap diner, not a place like Mastro's. We paid $480 for 3 people, and couldn’t even stomach a single bite. It was that bad. We had a 2:15 pm reservation, and when we arrived, the seafood—which my mom was really excited about—was taken away by 2:30 pm. I asked when the buffet closed, and they told me 3:30 pm, which made no sense. By the time we got to the table, half the food was gone, and what was left looked like it had been out for far too long. It was honestly embarrassing, and completely ruined the day. We literally spent $500, including valet, on food that was tasteless, cold, and disgusting. I felt like I was literally throwing money in the trash. The worst part is that this was supposed to be a special day, but instead, it turned into one of the most disastrous and uncomfortable experiences ever. This was hands down the worst Mother’s Day I’ve ever had, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy. Do yourself a favor—avoid this place at all costs.

   As an avid lover of Mastros food, quality and experience, I was looking forward to bringing my family here. We have frequented different Mastros locations on many occasions and this one really stung and left us with a bad taste. Starting out.. the plates were dirty - and this continued on trips back to the buffet. The food was luke warm, at best. This included the buffet food as well as the menu order option.  The bacon was overcooked, the dessert station was extremely underwhelming, and the overall atmosphere was very unkempt and dirty. It went as low as not even having the right utensils to appropriately place food on plate. The seafood tower seemed preciously frozen & water logged. Our server was very cold, and argued with his bus boy multiple times, right next to our table. We will never be back to Mastero’s. A lot of $ and time with my family, to leave being disappointed.

   What a beautiful way to spend Mother’s Day. The buffet was decadent, the music was soulful and my daughter now has a new standard in dining. As we were leaving (she’s 6 by the way), she said she’d “give this place 10 stars”. Thank you!

    I dined here with my family for Mother’s Day Brunch. I was hesitant to return because of a prior experience, but I would like to say I had a wonderful experience. The staffs’ attentiveness was superb. The music and food was excellent. I would like to personally say “Thank you” for going above and beyond to make my day special!
