   Our waiter was not attention to detail. My husband asked twice for a beverage and never got it. We have been going to the house since 1971 for our first wedding anniversary.

   Dining at the House of prime rib is an experience. The food is excellent. The ambience and the way food is served is unlike any other restaurant. I would definitely recommend dining here, but be prepared to spend more money than other steak or prime rib houses. But the portions are quite large.

   Dinner was delicious and the kid’s serving was perfect for the grandkids! They loved it! Service was a little slow but there were a lot of people and our waiter seemed a little over extended. Despite that it was GREAT!

   Went for my birthday. Our very first time. The food and atmasphere was amazing. Ther server I believe his name was Antonio maybe Anton went beyond any server ever has for us. Thank you for the great experience and we look forward to visiting again.

    I’ve been dining here since I was a kid with my family and last night was the first time we’ve had really bad service. The waiter had no emotion with us or even ask if we were celebrating anything with my son clearly wearing a lei for his graduation. Probably the most unfriendly waiter. Never checked up on us or even refill our sodas. In the past, we’ve never have to ask for refills. The only person that checked up on us was the bus boy when were almost done with our meals. The bus boy didn’t even get our refills-we had to flag another waiter. Very disappointing. Our waiter was waiting hand and foot at the table next us because that group was ordering a bunch of alcohol while totally ignoring our table the whole time. Bigger check, bigger tip I guess. Truly a big turn off from a well known establishment. Not worth the price anymore for crappy service.

    Lifelong love for this place! Charming atmosphere, great cocktails, excellent customer treatment, fair prices considering the experience, and of course the food is divine. We did feel the teeniest bit rushed, like we had our salad within 5 mins of the reservation time, it was almost too efficient! That has its upsides like being able to accept a later reservation, but I’m just used to the longer drawn out experience of the olden days. Overall I’m still thrilled to go back any time I can score a reservation!

    I’ve been wanting to try this restaurant for years now based on all the positive reviews from friends and coworkers. I was finally able to secure a reservation 3 months ago which worked for everyone in my group. FYI, we had 5:30pm Friday seating and walk-in customers were told there was a two hour wait. I recommend using their valet parking ($16 flat fee) which is very competitive with parking structures around the area. The highlight of the evening was the House of Prime Rib cut which is aged 21 days and melts in your mouth. The accompaniments include a fresh tossed salad, sourdough bread, Yorkshire pudding, creamed spinach. You also have a choice between mashed or baked potato. I highly recommend going with the baked potato with all the toppings. We wrapped up dinner with a 3 layer fantasy cake (chocolate, chocolate mousse, cheesecake) and coffee. The server was top notch and frequently checked in with us and made sure we had everything we needed through the meal. I should have tried this place much sooner! Will definitely be back.

    Classic SF joint with properly prepared prime rib. Only criticism is that atmosphere and service is a bit frenzied, fast paced, a bit circus-like. I suppose some of that is necessary to keep up with heavy demand for a table here but it takes away from the possibility of a relaxed, mellow, drawn-out dinner.

    You already know how great HOPR is, that’s why you’re here 4 months in advance so that you can secure your table! But let me be the millionth person to say it- this is the real deal. We got seated in a back corner with the meat cart and all the action right in front of us! Everyone at our table raved about the perfection of their meals and my husband and I literally fought over the last of his creamed spinach. Even though we were all so full, we shared a crème brûlée anyway and it was a delicious end. Thank you HOPR!

    Was fortunate enough to find street parking with in a 30sec walk. Prime rib was great as well as the salad and sides. Nice ambiance and drinks. Food didn’t take long to come out. Would recommend but make sure to get a reservation 3 months out
