Took a while and multiple requests for sparkling water. Bronzino was excellent however, the steak was served nearly cold and overpriced. We were asked if we wanted any more sparkling water and said no because we were done eating. A few minutes later, a server pours some sparkling water and we were charged for two waters. Wait staff is too eager to give the bill and to pick it up. Not what I expected from a restaurant of this status.

This is the first time in 20+ years of going to Spago that I've been disappointed. When I made the reservation they asked if it was a special occasion - without any prompting from me, she assured me they would make it special for my son & DIL's anniversary. When we arrived the hostess had a note that we had an anniversary. Our food was delicious but after dinner plates were cleared we sat for 15 minutes before dessert menus arrived - server seemed in a rush but no problem. We then waited 20 more minutes for anyone to look our way so we could flag them down and ask for our server (many service people passed by, but only looking straight ahead.) Server came to take our orders with no apology for the wait - and then nothing was done for the anniversary. Disappointing. Will celebrate elsewhere next time.

I have eaten at Spago many times over the years enjoying its creative food. It was a disappointment this time. Our appetizers appeared 30 minutes after we sat down including the sashimi and the carrot soup, which was excellent. Then we waited for our jidori chicken. we asked the two servers the status. The chicken arrived and although it was not dry, it was not moist or juicy. The agnolotti was ok. After we sat down, we saw an adjoining table receive their appetizers, entree and soufflé and leave. the food to me was slow and someone at Spago said to me that the jidori chicken takes more time to cook as an explanation

Living off it’s past . The service level was outstanding but the food was just ok. Two star prices and ok food. I am ok with expensive when the food is outstanding and have gladly paid 300 for a tasting menu. Here plan on 150 per person and wine marked up 5x for good but not great.

My wife and I flew in from Denver for our 7th anniversary. We wanted to experience a true Beverly Hills institution and Spago did not let us down. Bryan, our server, was a wonderful host. We enjoyed the salmon, cream cheese pizza for an appetizer. Then it was onto the main courses. She had the crispy black bass and I was adventurous and tried the branzino. For desert we gorged on the pineapple lemon cream infused cake with some fresh coffee. Of course the beautiful people of LA were sitting all around us. All in a wonderful experience !

Dined here last night and was blown away. To start with, the maitre d’ Lashanda is amazing. Not only did she honor my reservation requests, but she also seated us immediately and made us feel extremely welcome. Some maitre d’s come across as professional yet somewhat devoid of personality — she’s the antithesis of that. Once we were seated, we were fortunate enough to have Jason as our server. He’s a class act in all regards — brimming with personality and comic relief, all while providing excellent recommendations. He checked in on us the exact right amount, and provided a high level of service that you rarely come across even in fine dining restaurants. Now on to the food: for my entree I had the duck breast, which I ordered the right way (med rare), and both the texture and flavor were unparalleled. For dessert, you’d be foolish not to order the cheesecake— it’s a 10 out of 10. The ambiance is lovely too with a bevy of heaters. Whether you’re looking for an intimate spot for a date or just a great night out with friends and/or family, Spago is the spot.

Maybe it was due to being Valentines Day, but the service was very slow. It took 20-25 minutes to get a cocktail every time I ordered. I ordered the Australian New York Wagyu beef, what was brought to me did not taste like Wagyu, don’t get me wrong the steak was very good, but not Wagyu good. Given the fact that it was a set menu for Valentine’s Day the restaurant did have many options to choose from, some of the appetizers were amazing. Extremely pricey, ended up costing about $1000 for two people. The entertainment was phenomenal, great musicians.

Honestly disappointed in Spago given it’s a 2 Michelin Star rated restaurant. Our dinner reservation was at 8 pm on a Friday. We were greeted by friendly staff and seated promptly. We ordered drinks and entrees. From this point on things we’re not satisfactory. It took 20 minutes for our server to return with our drinks, which is considerable since we ordered a basic margarita and an old fashion. Food service was more prompt but what we had ordered had been over cooked. The chicken that my partner ordered was dry and the duck breast I received was not medium rare and much tougher and chewier than duck breast I have had at other highly rated fine dining experiences that are not Michelin star rated. Overall I think given the quality of food and service, Spago missed the mark on a fine dining experience . I have read they had been dealing with inconsistency issues in the past but did not realize how bad it was until I ate here. I do want to eat here again at some point to see if another night will be better than Fridays. I am disappointed I paid top dollar for an unsatisfactory experience at a Michelin star restaurant.

Spago stands out among other classic LA spots because the service is always above amazing, each staff member is kind, engaging, and expert at their job no matter which part of the experience they manage. The food of course is delicious but for me the service is what makes it truly special.

Terrible. I’ve had better service at Dennys. The food was average at best. Even the famous salmon pizza was nothing to brag about. We waited 30 minutes for a table even with a reservation. Now I get that’s not their fault, but when the experience was so bad for what we expected… We didn’t even try a desert. This place has seen better days. I never mind paying top dollar for a great meal, but he prices they charge are shameful for what you get. Wolf- you need to do better.
