Magdalena is the celebrated restaurant of The Ivy Hotel, a Relais & Châteaux property in Baltimore’s historic Mount Vernon neighborhood.

Magdalena, a Maryland Bistro, features refined, “from-scratch” bistro fare driven by the bounty of the Chesapeake Bay region. The seasonally evolving menu celebrates the finest local ingredients, sustainable values, and culinary craftsmanship, resulting in dishes brimming with character.

Executive Chef Ülfet Ralph has over a decade of experience in Relais & Châteaux properties. With this expertise, Chef Ralph will continue Magdalena’s mission of exploring innovative and artful interpretations of Maryland cuisine with a purposeful balance of bistro meets elegance. Ingredients are sourced close to home, and relationships with local farmers and purveyors are at the heart of the culinary philosophy.                                   I chose Magdalena as the place to celebrate my college graduation with family, and it could not have been more perfect. The staff was so attentive and warm, the food was truly incredible, and the pacing of it all was impeccable. We spent an easy 3 hours sitting down and enjoying every bite. We particularly appreciated that for a Michelin restaurant the portions were quite filling just with a shared starter and individual entrees. I hope that I can return again to celebrate another special occasion in this exquisitely cultivated restaurant.

We started with the crispy duck pressè, which tasted a bit unsophisticated.. but thankfully, the entrées saved the meal a bit. For dessert, we had the banoffee cake, and it was delightful! Great for a date night but the food is on the relatively mediocre side.

                                  We had such a good experience at this restaurant. Our waitress Emma was phenomenal! She knows the menu and can recommend everything from cocktails to entrees. She takes such good care of her customers. The food was amazing.

                                  I have been to Magdalena several times but this was my first visit in over a year. This is one of the very best restaurants in Baltimore. The menu is creative, the wine list extensive (with staff knowledge to compliment it). The setting is intimate and idyllic (especially outdoors on a nice evening). The service is attentive but not overbearing. We will be returning much sooner. A real gem.

                                  We hosted my husband's 60th birthday dinner here last night, and the service and food were incredible. It is a small, intimate setting with a gorgeous patio attached. Everything was perfect. We would HIGHLY recommend; the staff are experts in their field.

                                  Upscale, excellent service food and ambiance. Our server was excellent in guiding us around the food and wine menus as well as being attentive towards my gluten allergy and making sure I could eat without worry.
