Succulent Fine Dining brings Napa Valley’s warm elegance to the River Oaks/Montrose area, blending seasonal West Coast flavors with Texas roots. Restaurateur Shawn Virene (a’Bouzy) and Executive Chef David Buckley present bold, ingredient-driven dishes like XO Deviled Eggs with caviar, Carrot Gnocchi, and Seared Scallops. The spacious main dining room offers a refined yet approachable atmosphere, while the immersive Chef’s Table overlooks the open kitchen. Guests can also enjoy a lush herb garden patio, a bar & lounge, a rooftop with outdoor seating, and vintage greenhouses for private dining. Located at 1180 Dunlavy with valet and garage parking.     I am usually reluctant to try a restaurant that is newly opened. While there was a hiccup with one of my guest's meals, Succulent bent over backwards to make it right. The staff was attentive, the atmosphere was fun and the food was delish.

    the California farm to market produce and eclectic menu was a little weird. the "pani puri" chicken liver mousse as a fusion of indian and french styles did not work. Trout was well priced and good as also the Hangar steak.

    Highly disappointing brunch experience. Fine dining guests but not fine dining service. Beautiful restaurant. Beginning was greeted and served properly. Appetizers came out in 15 minutes with the complementary fresh bread. Entrees took 50 minutes and waters were not refilled. Quiche was delicious with flaky crust. Short order ok, nothing special. Did give us complementary coconut cake for our birthday celebration. 3 managers working and none stop by to greet or check in with us. This is not fine dining level, I would say regular brunch service like Anabelle. Won’t be returning. No valet but was able to park for free in front of Flowers and Cream.

    Food was exquisitely prepared, plated beautifully and extremely tasty. There was a sommelier on site who assisted with wine choices. Additionally, there is a large selection of moderately priced wines by the glass. Don't forget the outdoor seating upstairs.

    The food was exceptional and the service was excellent. The bar was running slow but they will get their cadence- they have only been open for a week.

    Succulent Fine Dining — Disappointing Service Overshadows an “Okay” Meal My wife and I visited Succulent Fine Dining last week with high hopes, but unfortunately, we walked away deeply disappointed and have no plans to return. While the food itself was passable—my pork chop was overcooked and dry, likely from sitting too long under a heat lamp—the real issue was the service, which felt dishonest and disorganized at best. From the start, we asked if they had bleu cheese olives for our martinis. We were told they did not, only to have our waiter return and say he “convinced the bar manager” to stuff them for us. That seemed like a nice gesture—until later, when I asked if I should save my olives for the second round and was told it didn’t matter because we were being charged for them. This charge wasn’t mentioned up front, and it started to feel like an intentional upcharge rather than a courtesy. Things only got worse when the waiter brought a second martini he claimed was mistakenly made for me and would be “tossed” otherwise. I accepted it, only to find it tasted off—like swill from the bottom of a shaker. When I mentioned it, he agreed it didn’t look right, yet somehow this drink had still made its way to my table. That just didn’t sit right. Later, I ordered a bourbon with a large ice cube. Again, I was surprised to find we were charged for the cube itself. I’ve never been charged for ice before, and once again, this wasn’t disclosed ahead of time. All of this added up to a feeling that we were being nickel-and-dimed through misleading service, with our server seemingly more focused on inflating our bill than providing a quality dining experience. At a place that markets itself as “fine dining,” this was especially disappointing. It’s not about the money—it’s about integrity, attentiveness, and professionalism, none of which were evident during our visit. Succulent Fine Dining has a long way to go before it lives up to its name. — 1.5 out of 5 stars
