The fish & chips special was outstanding. The fish was crisp and perfectly done. My husband got the pork shoulder which was tender and packed with flavor. Washed it all down with a beautiful Belle Glos pinot noir. Our server was well-informed and attentive. The Los Angeles Times recently named Alice B. one of the best 101 restaurants in California. Based on our experience, this accolade is well-deserved.

Really great experience dining at Alice B. Everything was delicious - smoked salmon, branzino and chicken. Super tasty. Great service, too! Thanks.

The space is pleasant but very dark. Difficult to read the menu and even see the food. Service relies on many different servers, one of which will only change the flatware between courses. Could never obtain a drink refill as this seemed to be no one's job even though there appeared to be abundant help. Gazpacho was overly flavored with chili and very thin; more like a beverage than a soup. "Norwegian Trout" very similar to a salmon fillet. Cooked correctly but resting on a cool melange of lima beans and undercooked corn. Desert was unremarkable, and I can't even remember what it was.

What a beautiful experience. This restaurant is located in an LGBTQ+ retirement community and is another winner from Susan Feniger and Mary Sue Milliken, culinary geniuses! Everything was perfect from start to finish. We shared the cheddar biscuits with cardamom honey. The honey was so delicious with the biscuits which were light and fluffy. We also shared the salmon carpaccio with bagel crisps. It had small dots of crème fraiche and bits of shallot, onion and crispy garlic. The flavors mixed together were insane. My husband wanted to try the crispy smashed potatoes with aioli - he said they were to die for. We shared the branzino on top of potato purée with frisée and celery root salad. Again, the way the flavors meshed together was incredible. Our server was lovely and paced our meal perfectly. Do not miss the walk to the bathroom because the artwork is fantastic. On our next PS weekend, we fully intend to eat at Alice B. two nights in a row. Also note…if you leave your reading glasses behind at your hotel, the sweet hostess will check the lost and found and bring you a pair!

Overall foie was good. We went for restaurant week and that menu could have been beefed up a bit (the salad was a bowl of greens and there were only three entrees - veggie, chicken and fish). The service was mostly good. We seemed to get forgotten for a bit after we had menus but were with another engaging couple sp didn’t notice much. My only complaint was being seated VERY close to the kitchen and the constant in and out of the SWINGING doors was very distracting. The table could easliy have been moved a bit further away. The restaurant was beautifully decorated.

Except for the need for better signage, we had a wonderful evening. Food was great, service was good, noise level wasn’t bad. Ambiance was nice. Could use a little more light,we were seated near the windows and it got a little dark once the sun set.
