   The food was ok, but we were seated 20 minutes late, were waiting a long time to have our first drinks. The lady that served us, was not eager to wait for us to order. The pair next to us gave up, and left the place because of bad service. We should perhaps done the same. The kitchen seemed to small to do many guests.

   One of our favorite places in Wailea to dine we always know we will get the best service, this time from Michael and always the best tasting food, fresh fish options and delicious drinks. We leave having had the nicest dinner with an outstanding view of the sunset and memories to last a lifetime. Thanks for everything!

   It was overrated, but I should have did more research before booking. Outside seating is by the pool area, and we couldn’t see the beach area because of the bar. To get to the restaurant it’s a really long walk down several stairs. I’m sure there’s an elevator. It’s still a long walk from the valet. Artwork along the way is really nice. Our table was a high top. We were asked if we wanted a different one, but there wasn’t anything else open at the moment. The waitress that filled our water was wonderful! She checked on us several times just walking by. Our waiter wasn’t that impressive; he was pleasant when at our table. Like I said we were seated by the bar, and he complained constantly to the bartender about other guests, waitstaff, and even her speed. The manager actually reprimanded him, at the bar nonetheless. He was probably just having a bad night. The quality of food was good, not excellent. Large portions, sticky ribs to perfection, as recommended by every staff that visited with us! The sushi was average. Cocktails were good, but it’s hard to mess up rum and fruit juices. In hindsight, I would have went somewhere else. I know for next time though.

   The hostess was very accommodating. I was dining alone and asked for a seat to see the sunset but not be at the bar inside or outside. She made it happen. I had appetizers- pork dumplings, shrimp tempura, as well as the duck fried rice. All were quite tasty and not greasy. The dumplings were in a cast iron bowl still sizzling. The waiter was attentive but not smothering. Overall, improved versus last year.

   Food was the highlight but expensive for the potion size. Service seemed chaotic for a high end restaurant. Not all the tables were filled so not sure what the issue was.

   We have been loving Morimoto since it opened on Maui. We love the food, we love the service, and we love that (Original Iron) Chef Morimoto visits to tweak the already-great dishes. The menu continues to grow and change in great ways with stunningly fresh Japanese fish and local produce. It's a poolside/near-waterfront restaurant that maintains its dignity with extremely professional service and dishes everyone can love. The sushi and sashimi shine, but there are lots of options for sharing and picky eaters. The bar has a fantastic array of curated cocktails, island mocktails. a deep wine list and sakes -- including flights for novices. There is am omakase, too, that offers off-menu tastes for special dinners. We go often. We are never disappointed.

    With many tables available in the dinning room why did they seat us at a table where the sun would be an issue during the sunset.
