Welcome to Kapa Hale!

Kapa Hale has a modern influence on Hawai'i Regional Cuisine. We promote local products and combine them with familiar ethnic influences that showcase a cuisine that can only be found in today's Hawai'i.

We can help to celebrate life's special events -- whether it's a large party or an intimate prix-fixe menu. We can accommodate different styles of events -- cocktail reception, sit-down family style menus, etc. Chef Keaka Lee was recently recognized as a James Beard semifinalist for Best Chef in the Northwest and Pacific. And finalist for the Vegetarian category for the local Hale 'Aina Awards by Honolulu Magazine.

We're located next to Olive Tree Cafe, outside of Kahala Mall. We have a small, private parking lot.

Never disappointed by the food - always delicious. Our table ordered the Green Eggs & Ham, Croque Wahine, 2 Loco Mocos and the Burger. On this particular day, service was a bit slow (shorthanded) and it took a bit for our food to come to the table. However, we were meeting up with friends who flew in for a brief visit so it gave us more time to talk and catch up - so not removing any stars for that. Chef also sent out an appetizer for us while we waited. The food is worth the wait. Based on this visit (brunch) and my last visit (dinner), if you are not in a rush and want to spend time with those dining with you, the wait is not much of a bother. Better than being rushed out in 90 minutes so that the next reservation can be prepped.

It was one of the most enjoyable meals All dishes were ono. We had these Arecibo rice balls that were crispy with a flavorful filling. The zucchini appetizer was thin slices with a tasty sauce My entree was the oxtail luau. Meat came off bone with a spoon and the luau tasted so rich. It was accompanied with couscous… wonderful as it complemented the dish well My husband had the prime rib … thick slice and oh so tender Dessert was the lemon dream and guriguri Service was attentive and chef came out to chat for awhile. We patronize this restaurant because the food is always good but this dinner was the best

We had a lovely meal for 4 adults and 2 children. The naan ya business and corny bread were wonderful starters. We also enjoyed the brussels, 'ulu, and lei po'o salad before the Where's da beef entrees. The unique and tasty cocktails were great, too. Our server, Ethan, was polite and attentive. We definitely plan to return soon.

Tried the da Spring Fling 3- course Tasting Menu last nite. It was terrific. The appetizers were small and tasty, the Mango Gazpacho being the strongest of the 3 samples; the hush puppy was the weakest. My selected entree was the Salmon Ochazuke, a simple but filling dish. The salmon was grilled just right (which is not easy to do) and the broth that accompanied the rice and salmon was very nice. Ordinarily, the "ochazuke," which means "tea accompaniment" comes with tea, but the broth made it a "fusion" and it was a light subtle broth that went well with the rice and kombu. The dessert I chose, the Lemon Dream, is always a favorite---light and refreshing. Hubby chose to go with the Spanish octopus appetizer and Laksa risotto, which is always his favorite. The food was a 5-star; the service as well was 5-star. The ambience at Kapa Hale is always calming and nice; casual, yet classy. A perfect score. We will definitely be returning soon.

First time here. As a former resident and current tourist, I wanted to have a nice lunch away from Waikiki. I picked Kapa Hale because of its menu and also to find out what a graduate of the Culinary Institute of the Pacific had created. The dining areas are kind of nondescript, nothing very special about them. But pleasant and clean. I could have chosen several items off the menu but I picked Loco Moco, and it was ono. The rice had a different texture than any other rice I've ever had, and it was really good, so I asked the chef about it. It's ordinary rice but they take extra care in how they clean and prepare it. Kapa Hale will be on my list for sure next time I return to Oahu.
