   Extremely slow service. The staff were nice, but we had to wait on every aspect of service. The portions of food were small. The aged steak is overpriced. They talk it up the steak but it’s not anything special, especially for the price point.

   The food was good but it wasnt as impressive based on the hype. We got several items, small plates, etc. Some items were better than others and it was enough food, but very pricey for what we got. The drinks were absurdly expensive. I dont think we will be back, when so many other options around Denver.

   Appetizers and salads were great! The pastas were so so. The half chicken ranks right up there with Costco, and the $120 bone-in ribeye was over charred and overcharged. Finally, the beverages have a very healthy gross margin though not as high as the Aspen - land of the $20 cocktail.

    The staff was very polite and attentive. The meals are shareable, so we picked several different items from the menu. The broccolini was off the charts delicious along with the acorn squash. The rib eye was cooked perfectly pink, but had a little too much fat for my liking. We also splurged and got dessert which was yummy. We sat indoors but the garage doors were open , which gave it an indoor/outdoor feel. It was a nice breezy evening.

    The food was incredible, and the staff was amiable and attentive. I went with my family for my birthday, and we loved sharing the dishes. The entire experience was beautiful and, most of all, unique. The menu highlights the main ingredients while providing innovative flavors and complex combinations. Such a fun experience!

    I want to preface this review by saying that I never write reviews, so to counterbalance this negative one, I will write three positive ones for other local businesses. Additionally, I know the restaurant industry is hurting. We are all navigating a new normal and people are trying their best. But, I’m hoping that my review is helpful to other covid conscious dinners and that this establishment addresses these issues, quickly. I intentionally reserved a spot outside given safety concerns around the ongoing pandemic. Upon checking in with the host, he let us know we could sit inside, “upstairs instead” (said in a way as if they were doing us a favor). My partner and I were both uncomfortable and surprised by that greeting, our reservation clearly said “outdoors”, which was the sole factor we chose to eat there’. I replied and let the host know we’d prefer open air dining. At that point, we were begrudgingly offered a table inside, near the open door. The host mentioned something about weather concerns (but it was not and did not rain while we were there). We reluctantly accepted the table inside as this was the better of the two options we were offered, plus we came out of our way to eat there. While seated inside, close to the open door, we watched as others were seated at the outdoor tables. A staff member even brought out umbrellas which obviously could have mitigated supposed “weather concern”. To make matters worse, two of the line cooks were incorrectly donning their masks. One adjusted his mask, possibly after I gawked in disbelief; the other, defiantly wore his completely below his nose and even his mouth. That said, our server was outstanding—kind, helpful, and wearing his mask correctly. Sadly, I won’t return and wouldn’t recommend this place to others.

    Acorn is our favorite restaurant in Denver and we do a fair amount of fine dining. The food at Acorn is always inventive, fresh and cooked to perfection. It just keeps getting better. The kale salad should be the official dish of Denver.

    Great job of social distancing. Food excellent as always. Service just right. The 1/2 chicken was perfectly roasted. The agnolotti dish was scrumptious. And the kale salad is a showstopper.

    One of the best meals Inhave had in Denver. From apps to wine recommendation to dessert it was great. Attentive but not overbearing service with people that you could tell care about what they are doing. The decor fits the industrial vibe of the place but left a little to be desired in terms of overall warmth and comfort. All in all, just go.

    The food here is great! The service was severely lacking. The rap music didn't fit the environment and it was really loud, but we were seated under a speaker. It was our second time here, we love the food but hope they can get their servers trained to smile and anticipate your needs better as well as be better versed in what they have to offer.

    We have been to Acorn many times, but this time I was really disappointed with the food. It is supposed to be shared plates, so portions are generous, but the variety of choices dictated that we each ordered our own. Unfortunately, my choices were very, very similar, with an emphasis on whole grains. I generally really like whole grains, but because I ordered the tuna crudo and the grain bowl, they are very much alike and no one wanted to share! My friends liked their food, but it was not outstanding. I would try again, but with so much choice in that area, will likely try another place first.

    I didn't do my homework very well, and was surprised that the prix fixe Denver Restaurant Week option didn't offer any choices. Luckily one could order from their normal menu. I still opted to try the Restaurant Week menu and added the wine pairing. Course 1: Heirloom Blue Cornbread with surryano ham and red-eye butter. The cornbread was really savory, and paired well with the salty ham and coffee-infused butter. This was paired with a nice Santa Barbara chardonnay (Tyler). Course 2: Duck confit with green farro, field peas, baby leek and blood oranges. It was succulent and paired well with the Mendocino Ridge pinot noir (Drew). Course 3: Golden honey cake with cacao nibs, mandarin oranges, and honeycomb. The cake was light and not too sweet. The orange flavored vermouth dessert wine pairing was pretty disgusting! (Mommenpop) I could smell it several feet away, and it smelled like Mr. Bubble's Bubble Bath from the 80's. Bob thought it smelled like the inside of a Grandma's purse. I actually took two sips and could not finish it. Bob ordered the half chicken entree. It came over a bed of front range fungi, rainbow chard stems, bread and butter pickled radishes and something called RW roots. The chicken was extremely moist and Bob enjoyed it. He also ordered the chocolate cake offering. The chocolate cake was actually kind of dry. There were large dollops of hazelnut mousse, chopped up hazelnuts and another accoutrement. I preferred mine and he preferred his. ;)

    I have been dying to try this restaurant for years and finally made it during restaurant week. We of course diverted from the restaurant week menu and took all of the waiters suggestions. First of all the pork rinds are an absolute must. The grits are outstanding. For our main course we had the fish as well as the duck, both excellent choices. The restaurant is set in a very cool old foundry making us suburbanites feel extremely hip. Moderately priced... we kind of over did it with the wine so it would have been much more affordable if we had been a bit more frugal.
