Oystercatchers is located on the shores of the Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay. You drive down a winding road into the Ruelle as you approach the illuminated circle drive flanked by palm trees and bright flowerbeds. As you enter the restaurant through the lounge, enjoy the spectacular panoramic view of Old Tampa Bay. With its innovative cocktails and contemporary furniture, the lounge, outside patio and lower bay-level deck provide a comfortable, chic hotspot for locals and visitors alike. Our visually stimulating water views and sunsets provide a unique environment to enjoy feature wines and appetizers. Our menu highlights an array of the freshest, wild and line caught fish available, organic produce and seafood specialties with a unique and contemporary flair.     We had a delicious Saturday lunch and accidentally celebrated Martini Day! Our grouper sandwiches, tuna melt, and grilled octopus were beyond tasty - and our service was fantastic!

    As always, Oystercatchers remains on the top of our list. From the assortments of dishes, the location, ambience and service are spectacular. Last visit we were attended by Zach...a very knowledgeable and attentive gentleman. He is an asset to your restaurant. We will return over and over and over for more delightful meals, appetizers, oysters and drinks. Keep up the great job!!!!

    Father’s Day Brunch - thought it was overpriced. We had been there a number of years previous and food and selection was much better. Musician was good- but too loud for event and room.

    We visited for Fathers Day dinner, from the moment we stepped foot in the door, the staff was welcoming and attentive. The food was fresh and well prepared. Our waiter, Tyler, was on point with food and drink suggestions. We enjoyed our date night with the kids and will visit again.

    My wife and I took hosted friends who had never been to Oystercatchers. They enjoyed the service, the scenery (we sat outside), and their dishes. My wife and I were taken aback both by the NUMBER of changes to the menu since we'd last visited (January of this year) and the NATURE of the changes. Let's start with the most shocking - THE PORK SHANK IS GONE. This change affected me more than my wife because I'm a big man, so fish tends not to be filling for me. The pork shank was my goto dish, and consequently, the thing that I would rave about the most to people who had not tried it. Additionally, the bread with the smoked salt is also gone from the menu. While this is not nearly as big a deal as the pork shank, the smoked salt was a great touch and very tasty. Finally, let's talk about some of the "new" additions: fried green tomatoes and...a cheeseburger?! Seriously? Whose idea was a $24 cheeseburger? I hate to tell you this, but you could do better at Red Robin, Glory Days, or even Smashburger for the money and value. Our waitress was excellent (the service is always excellent at Oystercatchers), and she informed us that because there is a new chef, there's a new menu. Consequently, what was my favorite restaurant and go to spot for entertaining friends and guests has changed rather drastically. I had difficulty making a selection. I ended up getting the scallops (a foolish move for me) they were delicious and devoured in less than a minute. Fortunately, one of our guests didn't want all of her cheeseburger, so I had half of her burger. The desert menu also fell victim to the changes. My go to desert is the key lime pie, that has been changed to now include strawberries. I somewhat enjoyed this change as the sweetness of the strawberry complements the tart of the lime. Ultimately, we are not too thrilled with the new direction of Oystercatchers. We will most likely explore other options for now, but we are open to returning the road.

    Huge disappointment. Been coming for years and it’s continued to go downhill, even under new manager. Will never go back. It’s such a great location, but the decor is non-existent and the food boring, tasteless and inedible. Really poor. Our table was devoid of any decoration, and the linoleum is old and stained. Looked sad and empty. Go d are the days of the delicious sourdough bread and pepper/sake. Now you must pay $8 for bread. That wasn’t very good. We went out of our way to inform the place days before that we were celebrating a birthday…and nothing. Huge fail, big disappointment, and as far as we’re concerned, that was the last time we pay a lot and get less than nothing in return.
