Will definitely be back!!!!! Everything was delicious!
Great restaurant but food was fair. Not sure what the deal was. I’ve had good food experiences there before but this time wasn’t that great.
I set up a work dinner hosting some out of town folks at Restaurant R'evolution and it was a great success. I highly recommend it. Every aspect was spot on. The food was excellent with great recommendations from our server. Everyone was helpful and attentive but not overly so. The ambiance was great, too. I have already shared my experience with multiple people without hesitation. There are so many options in New Orleans and this ranks in the top tier.
The server was amazing! I accidentally added a tip on top of one already included as I didn’t notice and she chased me down on the street to correct it-what integrity!!! I think her name was Sam!
Great dinner ! The food and service was fabulous . Death by Gumbo is amazing and enough for 2 to share . Will definitely go back again soon !
Some dishes, like the short ribs and lobster gnocchi, were delicious. But the savory beignets were not good at all. Brussels sprouts were meh. The flavor of the ice cream was good. But the texture was very crystallized. I enjoyed the bread pudding. The person dining with me really didn’t. Overall, it was disappointing for the amount we paid.
Death by Gumbo was outstanding! Crab Beignets were only ok. Entrees were fantastic: Scallops with Foie Gras was great but my husband’s Short Ribs were very good! Best he’s ever had! Great ambiance and service!
Only real issue was the time it took to get our bottle of wine.... each bottle had to be chilled before they were served.
We can’t wait to go back next time we are in NOLA!!
We went for Jazz brunch, which means that there was life jazz music during breakfast.
The music was elegant and the ambiance despite the music was very confortable.
The cocktails were superb. Most of them with a little twist - creative and good value for money. Starters were very good and the entrees were superb. Most of us got the lobster with poached eggs and for that price the quality was unbelievable (<35 USD) and a half super fresh and perfectly cooked lobster. I will definitely come back.
One of the best brunch experiences ever. Can't wait to try the dinner menu.
The food and service were awesome. The waitress gave us extra appetizers, and pastries to take home as a thank you.
We were very excited to try Restaurant R'evolution for the 1st time and decided our anniversary would be the perfect time to try it. Unfortunately, the experience did not live up to our expectations. We were seated at the intersection of the two main walkways between the 2 main dining halls. This made for a loud and active dinner. When asking for recommendations the waitress seemed to not have a full understanding of the menu and referred to each item as "pretty good". The food was decent but didn't blow us away as we were expecting given all of the hype we received from friends that had dined there before.
Excellent Service, Top Rated 5 Star Food !!
There is a reason we keep coming back. Overall probably the best of the NOLA eateries in my opinion. Having worked at Brennan's back in the day, I am familiar with most of the restaurants in town. This is ALWAYS a stand out. Every bite you put in your mouth is excellent. Although this evening was a special occasion, we come every time we are in town and dinner at R'evolution makes every day a special occasion. Very good cocktails, a beautiful bar area to get your evening started. We sat in the lovely center dining room with the murals, very special. The wine list is one of the best in the city and they had what we ordered! Can't miss here...EVER! Cheers!
We arrived on time for our reservation. Our greeting seemed less “professional” than we are used to based on the caliber of the restaurant. Our table was not ready so we were seated at the bar. The bar staff was hurried, not attentive nor made any effort to be engaging. We were seated after 25 minutes in a back room. Just as we were seated, a very drunk customer at the next table loudly started cursing. We asked to be moved which we were to a more pleasant table in the front room. The young lady mentioned that we were the second couple who asked to be moved from that table for the same reason which made us then wonder why she seated us there to begin with? The service was much more attentive from there. The star of our dinner was the Death by Gumbo. The start of our experience was underwhelming and disappointing. The restaurant suggests the attire is “Jackets Preferred”, but on our Saturday night, about half the diners there were casually dressed. Not sure that we will go there again.
Everything about our meal was wonderful! We have dined here before and look forward to coming back!
It was way way over priced and i can think of 50 restaurants around town that are much better.
Terrible service. Inattentive and dismissive waitstaff. Food was sub par for the price point.
We were there two years ago and it was wonderful. Took some friends who had never been before. We told them how great it was last time. It was embarrassingly bad this time.
Quail was over cooked and dry in the death by gumbo. Steak was, while cooked to correct doneness, was cold when it made it to the table like it sat around for awhile before making it to the table. Veal was tough and chewy.
We couldn’t get bread or more drinks. Dishes sat stacked up on our table .
Complained and asked for the check. We did not want anything comp’d, we just wanted to pay and leave this bad experience. Instead of getting the check they brought a couple of desserts stating they were on the house, but we did not want desserts. We just wanted to pay and get out of the place. So we had to again wait for the check. They did comp some items, but we did not ask them to. The manager never even came by our table.
We will not go back.
Travis and Colin were amazing! We had so much fun Friday night we left the place we were Saturday night to return. By far my new favorite place in New Orleans!
Upon arrival we waited to be acknowledged while employees talked amongst themselves and with some passer by. Two employees at desk and both distracted did not acknowledge us until they were good and ready. I did not feel welcomed. Then the host (male) sat us in the courtyard room and said this has a great view of our courtyard, dropped the menus like he was bothered and walked off. We were seated at a table that faced the wall. I specifically advised it was my husband's birthday when I made the reservations. We should have been seated in the room with table cloths or in the back room overseeing the preparation of the food. It was our first time there and the staff should have had the foresight to recommend/advise. Our view was of the wall at a table that looked like a cheap cafeteria set-up; it was extremely disappointing to me. Table was set up for 4 people. It was only two of us and I was hoping for an intimate dinner for 2; R'evolution is not the place for this; the staff was obviously not prepared for our reservation. By the time I wanted to ask to be moved, the waiter had dropped water and bread and it would have made a scene on a busy night. I was extremely, extremely disappointed. At the conclusion, the waiter brought us a jewelry box with 4 pastries inside; he was so proud of it and said enjoy these on us. He brought the box from another table after that guest had just left and touched the pastries, it truly looked like left overs. One suggestion: take the box in the back and refresh the pastries and not bring it from another table where people have had their hands in it. I was totally appalled, I thought R'evolution was an upscale restaurant. The Mrs; who really took her time to plan her husband's birthday dinner.
While the service was fantastic, the food was very disappointing.
The food was delicious and the service was perfect—attentive, but understated. One of the most enjoyable dining experiences we’ve had. It was so good that we tried to reserve for the next night so we could try more of the menu, but, alas, the restaurant was fully booked. This restaurant delivers on all the hype!!
We arrived 15 minutes after day’s opening at 11:45. Hostess was on phone and ignored us for 5 minutes while talking about cupcakes. A waiter finally came and showed us to table.
We were staying in Sonesta. We were hoping to get breakfast and, even though restaurant opened before noon, no breakfast available. Even the duck monsieur which we had seen on online menu (and had egg) was not available: the waiter said, “oh, that site needs to be updated”.
I had fried oyster salad, ho-hum and only 5 oysters. The “pies” were nothing special. The gumbo was good.
This seemed more like a hotel dining room than fine-dining, at least at lunch hour. I was disappointed as I had heard much about John Folse and partner.
Everything was perfect, the only minor caveat was that service was a bit too quick, we had no « break » between courses so were full pretty quickly. Besides that, service was perfect and the waiter had great recommendations. Food was perfect.
Our experience was amazing! The staff were very helpful and accommodating to a gluten free diet.
Great service, and you get multiple servers at once. So there is a lot of attention given to patrons. Would love to go again. Really enjoyed the crawfish beignets and the gumbo as starters!
One of the best meals I have had outside of Paris.
Food was good (not great), but service left a lot to be desired. The service started strong, but as the restaurant filled up we saw our assigned wait staff (a team of three) less and less. After our entrees were delivered, our wine glasses sat empty for about 15 minutes (we had purchased a bottle that was still half full), and my son had to ask three times before a soda refill was delivered. If it had been a cheap meal, I'd hold the restaurant to a lower standard, but for $400 for two adults and two children (before tip) I am sure you can do a lot better in a city with such rich culinary traditions.
This restaurant has spoiled us for all other establishments!
Amazing experience that didn’t disappoint.
The entire experience was phenomenal. The atmosphere, the hospitality, the menu, as well as the food were all well balance and awesome. The death by gumbo is a definite must!
Excellent! Service is outstanding, food is delicious. This is my favorite special occasion restaurant in Nola.
The perfect place for a special occasion!
Amazing food! As a NOLA local I have had some great meals in the city.....this one ranks up there as one of the best. Wine selection is quite extensive. Service was outstanding.
Food did not live up to hype. Filet was burned on top, which ruined the taste and waste of $46. The gruyere au gratin potatoes were strangely sweet, inedible. Waiter was inattentive, so we waited long time for service. Stuffed frog legs were unremarkable. Scallop dish was good, not excellent. Tartare was ok. Also, the bartender was rude. Overall, not a great dining experience. the best dish was the amuse-bouche, then all downhill from there. They should focus more on flavor and execution, less on pretentious atmosphere.
Excellent service and the food was delicious.
