Creole / Cajun / Southern
Serving Dinner daily, Sunday Jazz Brunch and Lunch on Fridays Restaurant R’evolution is the first joint venture of award-winning chefs John Folse and Rick Tramonto, offering modern, imaginative reinterpretations of classic Cajun and Creole cuisine. Steeped in the diverse historic and cultural influences of Louisiana, the menu features not only the chef’s interpretations of New Orleans classics such as gumbo, po’ boys, and beignets, but also new creations highlighting ingredients from what Chef Folse refers to as “the swamp floor pantry.” Table-side service components play an important role in the dining experience, promoting guest engagement about the history and evolution of the food they are enjoying. Soups such as Creole Louisiana Snapping Turtle Soup and Death by Gumbo play on unusual presentations of these traditional dishes that date back centuries. Desserts showcase classical New Orleans sweets done in a new and contemporary way.

This was our first trip to New Orleans and we definitely made the right choice in dining at Restaurant R’evolution. The service staff was very attentive and was helpful with finding me gluten free options. My venison tartare and swordfish were spectacular and my wife thoroughly enjoyed her shrimp and grits and crab beignets. We will absolutely come back for dinner again.

Felt a little rushed through dinner. Serving of courses were close together. The last of the wine was poured over 1/2 a glass deep and then the bill was brought right after.

The good thing is that the restaurant is right next to a theater and if you are lucky you can have great music with your dinner. Unfortunately not on the night we ate

Restaurant R’evolution exceeded my expectations. As a culinary professional, I was proud to be served by other industry professionals who are knowledgeable of their menu and seasonal ingredients. My friends and I chose most of the dishes suggested to us and we were pleased with our decisions! It was one of my best friends birthday (I noted this in my reservation) and they surprised her with a birthday plate which she enjoyed! Price point was good, we would’ve gladly paid more. The quality of the food was superb, the ambiance was great, the presentation of the food was phenomenal. It’s refreshing to see the kitchen staff take pride in the food they send out. The flavor profiles were spot on. When we’re in town again Restaurant R’evolution will be on our list of places to visit again.

The Death by Gumbo was very good. The redfish was bland, hardly seasoned, not anything I would have expected from Chef John Folse & his culinary traditions. The paneed veal chop was twice as big as necessary and only about average in taste. This prices are very high and I don't mind paying premium prices for premium food but, I am sorry to say, this was mediocre.

My husband and I ate at Restaurant R'evolution before going to see Hamilton (appropriate restaurant for this particular play). This was one of the best meals we've had. We ordered death by gumbo, the crab beignets, scallops, ricotta gnocchi, and bread pudding for dessert. All the food we ordered as well as the bread and butters were wonderful! The service team was also amazing. I'm sure this was the best service I've ever received at a restaurant! I forgot to mention the excellent wine as well. Definitely one of the best dining experiences I've had. I highly recommend!

Food was excellent, and we loved our waiter Colin! Unfortunately, by 11:15 in the morning, the restaurant had already run out of several key food items, such as lobster & quail, as well as one of the ingredients to make one of their special cocktails. In addition, the kitchen and bar were very slow. If R’evolution can work out these glitches, it will be a very fine addition to the New Orleans fine dining scene.

Food was spectacular - as always. Such a special night for my Dad on his 80’th birthday! Katie and Summer (I believe was her name) were our fabulous servers. Couldn’t ask for better food, service, and ambiance.
Only glitch was check-in. We arrived early and were told to wait in the bar area until our table was ready. We sat down, ordered drinks with our wonderful server there and enjoyed. About 10 minutes after our reservation time, we hadn’t been brought to our table and finally asked our server there about our table. Turns out it had been ready and we were just not told. When my husband inquired about that with the host, he stated sometimes they don’t come find you when it’s high volume in the restaurant. Maybe they need to move to a text system? Otherwise - it was a perfect night.

The restaurant is very elegant and the food delicious and refined. Unfortunately the service does not come close to meeting that standard. It is clear that the servers have not received or accepted the training needed to work at this level. It was such a contrast it was actually laughable. They knew nothing about any of the dishes (the ingredients in them). Our drinks arrived as we were finishing our first course. The adjacent diners’ drinks were not cleared an hour after they had left. The complementary dessert offering was just thrown at us with no explanation. Overall, good food, bizarre experience.

First class dining, service was beyond excellent always so attentive and caring. You definitely will spend a good amount here but it's worth it trust me. Death by gumbo is a dish you have to try there is nothing like it. It was our anniversary and they truly made us feel special. Get a reservation trust me.

Food- crab beignets, scallops, short ribs, Brussel sprouts, snap peas
Drinks- The Overnight Saint-Sation and Rotari Brut Rose.
Desserts-Cracker Jack popcorn dessert
The service is impeccable-i would like to recognize Travis, Colin and Sierra. They made the experience unforgettable.

The service was excellent. People were always checking on us seeing if we needed anything. My wife said she was debating between a few different appetizer options. The waitress brought out a sample of the one she didn’t order just for her and I to try it. It is my wife’s favorite restaurant in the entire city.
