I loved this place. I’ve been a faithful customer, and especially through covid but something has changed. I brought out of town friends here, as I always do, and a lot of the class has disappeared. Our filets came out on the hot cast iron, but this time the skillet was way too hot and the grease was dangerous and splashing everywhere. It splashed all over our clothes, faces, etc. my guests clothes were stained and it was way over the top and unnecessary. Then by the time we could try and cut into them, they were so over cooked. Whereas before this was done in such a classy way, this was now just like a Sizzler. The beautiful fillet was way over cooked and it was obvious that my medium steak was way over done but the server said nothing about it and I was too embarrassed in front of my guests to say anything. She should have noticed. But We had to ask our server for water as well. The cocktails and wine were great, but the bugs were relentless around the wine, and at one point my guest had not one but two gnats on her face! I really don’t know the history on this restaurant but someone really put a lot of love and thought into the dishes the presentation and the facility. Please bring back the class because it is gone. Also I want to add that the okra was so delicious. It was the best okra I’ve ever had. The heart of this restaurant is still there but there’s just something slightly off about it. Please fix!!!
We came for the food and were not disappointed. The food at Rebirth was just wonderful. The BBQ crispy pork appetizer was a work of creativity and caring. The gumbo - rich with deep flavors. Salads of endive were as good as a salad can ever be. My wife's filet was perfectly cooked. High quality beef. Chef: you desereve an A+.
The place will never win Architectural Digest awards, but who cares if you produce food like this. A+
Scallops and pork belly appetizers were amazing. Fantastic waitress. Great dinner! Duck was slightly over cooked, but flavor was great.
The food (Mahi Mahi and Filet Mignon) was excellent, but the restaurant had a bit of dirty-rag smell when we walked in which was quite unappetizing. Fortunately we went nose-blind to it after a few minutes. The entrees took about 45 mins to receive. It's also pricey compared to similar restaurants. This was our 3rd visit to Restaurant Rebirth, and it's always been fine, but never ideal.
Everything was delicious. Staff worked together as a team. My pork was not cooked to my request and no questions asked. It was immediately replaced with a perfectly cooked chop. Dining room and restrooms could use some freshening up for sure. I will definitely return.
I was not impressed. Okra and scallops salty. Shrimp and oyster appetizer was good.
Gumbo — incredible and some of the best we had while in the city. One meal, the snapper, was very good. The other meal was a pass. Ordered the filet with scallops. It was served in a sizzling and smoking skillet that was spattering oil and heavy smoke when brought to the table. I had to hold a napkin up to keep it off my clothes and it was still hitting my and my partner’s arms. The scallops were inedible and the steak was oily and not enjoyable as it sat in grease and oil. Total miss. Skip the steak and stick with the fish.
Enjoyed everything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Will be back🤗
Too much for too little. Nice ambiance and location though. Food was lacking in taste as well. Very generic for what was supposed to be a highly acclaimed restaraunt.
Best intimate place in New Orleans. Service matches the cuisine - Outstanding!
Gumbo and filet mignon were fantastic
The food was not great. The Angel Hair was over cooked, oysters did not seem too fresh. The Fish was not special, it was something that you could get at any restaurant. They were out of 2 entrees, leaving you only 3 choices or steak. Service was mediocre. So many other great restaurants in NOLA, I would suggest passing on this one.
Amazing experience. Spectacular food and fabulous service!
Special occasion! YES! 4209 miles from Oahu to Nola and one of the main reasons is to dine at Rebirth. Not once but twice. True French bistro atmosphere. The entire staff has the Aloha spirit and acts like a true family team that really gets along. The one dish we both wanted to have which we’ve had during the four trips to Nola, Blackened Redfish was sold out. Never fear, we made a second reservation and the Chef made sure to hold two portions for us. Definitely worth the 4209, 9 hr.trip. The redfish was cooked to perfection. Just another memory. The first evening when there were no redfish, swordfish was the fish that evening. It was the best swordfish we’ve ever had. Not the steak-like swordfish we’ve use to have: Covey Rise Farms select vegetables sautéed with housemade gnocchi, riesling poached crab meat, fennel-endive marmalade, blackened lemon beurre blanc. Unbelievable! By the way their Gumbo rivals my wife’s Gumbo. That being said it’s the best in Nola.
The food is outstanding, desserts are so good. Service wonderful. Management excelente and very profesional. We love it.
This was my first visit to Rebirth, but definitely not my last. The braised greens were the best I have ever had. The wait staff and the maitre d' were very welcoming. Very comforting ambience.
Great food. Huge portions. Good value. A definite visit out of the hustle and bustle of downtown.
Not a lot of options on the menu but that plows them to be near perfect on the dining options they do have. Oyster/Pasta app and the shrimp & eggplant app are incredible. Ribeye is as good as any place you will find in the city.
Great food and great service! Naomi our server was excellent and the food and drinks were delicious!
Service was very disappointing. My date and I ordered a couple glasses a wine before ordering appetizers and they never made it to the table.
Restaurant Rebirth was amazing. From the quaint atmosphere, fabulous staff, and excellent food, I loved it all. Naomi, our server, was THE BEST. She was personable, very attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. We asked for suggestions and she delivered. Did I mention how great the food was? Oh my goodness..The BBQ Pork Belly, The Duck Bajeux, The Double-Cut Pork Chop, & The Fish of the Day, were all delicious. Yes, I had dessert too...the Bread Pudding was sooooo good. My family has already pinned Restaurant Rebirth as a "must do" when we visit New Orleans again.
pork belly app was to die for... double cut chop was absolutely delicious, the portions were large and flavorful..... 5 star 5 bean.............................
Great food as usual but slow service from the kitchen
I found it a little off. I think there's not much excitement in restaurants now and that includes others in the city. I think the chefs do a better job with excited patrons. Out of a couple of items on the main menu but things happen.
The pork belly and scallops was good.
Just a sign of the pandemic times we live t. Look for them to step up their game once we get full activity again.
Still recommend and will go back!
Everything about this restaurant is amazing. I can not say enough good things about the food. The manager, Alex, and our server, Jonie, were extremely pleasant and you can tell they take pride in their establishment. This will be on the top of our "must go" list for our future returns to the city.
Top 5 meal of all time
Great vibe, pork belly app was outstanding, service was slow maybe short-handed, wait staff was very friendly. Filets were excellent and cooked on the money, pork chop was dry. Chocolate creme brûlée with beignets was very very good. Overall, recommended maybe just off night with the pork chop.
Restaurant Rebirth is always on our list of must go-to's when in Nola. Excellent service from Joanie and the manager/owner. The gumbo, oysters and angel hair pasta are always great, and the pork belly and greens are the best ever. Reasonable wine prices also.
Service was impeccable. Food was wonderful! One of the better Gumbo's I've had in Louisiana!
Birthday Dinner was great. Food was amazing
It was my birthday and this was our first time visiting. We honestly chose this restaurant because of the ratings and I’m excited we did. The reviews lived up to what received while dining here. The food is AMAZING! Yes it’s small but that’s what’s makes it wonderful. It’s a smaller restaurant which allows more detail to not only your food but from your server! Overall delicious. We enjoyed our food.
Had a late reservation was seated immediately upon arrival. Nice atmosphere inside, nothing overly “fancy” but understated and nice. Service was friendly. We were gently encouraged to make our meal selection as the kitchen was ready to start shutting down for the evening but we didn’t fee rushed at all. The pork chop entree was amazing and the drinks were tasty. Overall a great experience and highly recommended.
The locals definitely eat here. We had a corner table and watched patrons repeatedly recognized and greeted. The bar drinks were unique and the atmosphere was great. The food was extremely salty. Great portions and wonderfully served.
The swordfish I ordered and my father in law's filet were both a little overcooked, likely due to sitting under the heat lamp waiting for our server. It was not crowded, no excuse. I ordered an Abita Amber from our server, it never came. Dessert was brought to share, however, plates and spoons were not provided until requested. The two women at the table ordered drinks, the males did not, when drinks were brought, they were served to the men. When the bill was brought to the table, it was also intentionally handed to the men despite one of the females expressing she was paying for the meal.
Chef Ricky and his staff do a very good job top to bottom. Can't wait to see next menu!!
Paid 36$ for a inedible pork
Best restaurant in New Orleans! Fabulous food, well worth the price. Honestly, everything is delicious.
