August is a Contemporary Creole restaurant creating unique dishes with a focus on Louisiana ingredients and inspired by classical training. Located in a historic 19th century French-Creole building in New Orleans’ Central Business District, the main dining room caters to the most unique dining experience. The interior is rich with original architectural details, gleaming hardwood floors, soaring columns, mahogany paneling and antique mirrors.

From the OpenTable editors: August remains the flagship restaurant within the BRG Hospitality group, and it’s a grande dame dining room of New Orleans. The building rose tall in the 1830s, and the elegant space features mahogany panels and antique mirrors. The modern Creole menu offers a chef’s tasting in seven courses, from red snapper crudo to lavender panna cotta. The team also has a reputation for impeccable service, earning a couple of James Beard nominations in the past decade.

    The decor is beautiful! It is refined and elegant. Feels like eating in a private dining room. The flavors of the food were so varied and creative. Everything was delicious. Beautifully presented. The service was friendly, helpful, and unobtrusive. Always a dinner at August when I’m in NOLA. Simply THE BEST!!

    Food was ok, they rushed us!!! I don’t know how they were able to bring out the appetizers and then the entrees so quickly. I bet we were in and out within the hour; it was not what we were expecting such at a high end restaurant.

    Solo business traveler with early dinner seating. Beautiful setting, elegant, attentive service, and exquisite food. Loved the Cucumber Lime cocktail as a refreshing drink. Sampled two hot appetizers—eggplant mezzaluna and Iberico pork—in place of meal. Both were a delight of layered flavors. Left enough room for dessert: pineapple pudding cake with peach ice-cream and fennel granita. Completely satiated, delicate yet substantial cuisine.
