One of our favorite restaurants in Los Angeles. Consistently exceptional food!!! Great drinks and ambiance too!
Good is exceptional
Food was subpar compared to the Republique of the past. We won’t recommend getting the steak or short rib anymore. Stick to the bread, Normandy butter and sea salt.
Highly recommend, simply amazing, top 3 places in LA
Came on a Saturday night. Packed house but distanced appropriately. The staff was friendly, masked, gloved, and face shielded. The waiter was knowledgeable and friendly. Got oysters and bread and butter for appetizers. Both were excellent. Had the pasta with brown butter and sage filling, that was delightful. The cocktails were top notch. I got the old fashion, gin and tonic, the celery, and they were great. Main course was the chicken tagine, which was above average, but tasted one dimensional, not life altering as our waiter suggested it was. I did eat it cold the next day and it may have been better. Wish I would have gotten the duck instead. The dessert was a “tipsy cake” but more like a very soft bread, and that was ok. Given the reviews and popularity of this restaurant, I was expecting more, but still a solid choice. Would come back if just for the bread and cocktails. The service was great initially, but then it took about 45 minutes for our waiter to notice that we are ready for dessert and the check after.
Had to wait over 40 minutes for our table, even though we had a reservation. Unreasonable when the option to wait is to just stand outside on the sidewalk. We were also not offered anything to drink or a menu while we waited
This was our first big dining experience since the pandemic. It’s been a long time since having such a wonderful dining experience. Republique built a wonderful outdoor patio. The food was amazing, incredible flavors and the warm bread is the best! The staff was attentive and well protected. The only downside is the price...it’s an expensive restaurant. But if you know that going in, the food keeps me coming back.
Everything was absolutely fresh and delicious. I have gone back to the restaurant 3 times in 5 weeks to get the chicken tagine. Love it.
Outstanding everything. Food, service, drinks. Exceded my expectations with cdc regulations.
Amazing bread and butter! The pasta was a must as well!
LOVE everything. Highly recommend. Excellent on all accounts. Thank you & already look forward to next visit.
Fantastic food. The outdoor patio is large with more than enough space between tables and is well lit. The service was outstanding and you could tell that the staff was happy to be there and have customers. Perfect for our date night, I would highly recommend the Monday prefix offering.
We had a fantastic meal! Food was delicious and service was great. Wine/cocktail pairing was spot on. Great way to spend a warm LA evening - patio was fun and lively.
Wonderful prix fixed menu with beverage pairing on Monday night. An absolute must! Everything was incredibly delicious!
New patio is great.
The first outdoor dining experience on Monday was perfect
Amazing as always! Extremely safe and up to standards with COVID! The outdoor patio was beautiful & such a lovely place to enjoy the delicious food. Service is incredible & thoughtful, best of the best. Can’t wait to return & so happy to see such an incredible restaurant thriving during this difficult time!
Food was amazing!!! We almost ended up canceling our reservation because we did not want to go to this place, but that would have been a huge mistake. The food tastes very good and flavorful. Their desserts were so great that we came back the next day for brunch and got some pastries. Would definitely recommend.
The outdoor seating was so hot I was barely able to eat my meal. Fans would be a huge help.
Also, the seats alongside the wall are very hot from the wall being scorched in the sun all day.
Food was good, but for 100 bucks a head, you can probably do better in some other spots around town.
Always excellent! They’ve pared their menu down due to current COVID-19 challenges, but we left just as satisfied as we always do. Great wine selection, wonderful food no matter what you choose, and attentive service. Kudos to the staff for shifting gears and serving outside.
Outdoor seating is available now.
Today was very unfortunate weatherwise.
It was over 100 degrees and super humid.
(I was expecting to see some fans or misters or something. But none of them was in the patio. )
I came to this restaurant for several times for lunch with friends and we all truly enjoyed then food along with the ambience everytime we came.
But the dinner menu was a little bit below than my expectation.
(3 of us ordered 1 appetizer, 1 bread/butter, 2 pastas, 1 steak and 2 desserts)
Loved the appetizer and bread/butter.
I personally think Republique has the best baguette and butter in town.
Fresh salad was great as well.
But main dishes were unexpectedly bland and blah.
The $65 steak was not even good. (Sorry, Republique.)
I recommend this restaurant for lunch/weekend brunch more.
The staffs are super friendly and nice.
We enjoyed dinner and the service very much! Duck was incredible
Republique continues to provide an excellent dining experience in these COVID times. Remarkably crafted food and fantastic service.
Food and service was exquisite
The food was spectacular and they handle the covid environment so well. The staff wears their masks correctly and give space between themselves and the patrons. Food comes out swiftly and tastes incredible. I highly recommend the bread and butter!
Out door seating would wonderful. I hope they keep it
Food was great. Service was ok. Back servers and sommelier were very attentive but our lead server was a bit absent and unfriendly.
The food and service were outstanding. It was everything my friends told me it would be. There was a little too much gangsta rap on the spotify playlist for my liking but it didn't last the whole night. As a black woman I don't particularly like to hear music denigrating women and laced with the "N" word. So maybe someone should monitor that. It didn't ruin our night or anything. Food was amazing. Would definitely go back again.
Food was overrated but the service by Tyler was amazing.
First time visit to Republique. Unfortunate that it had to be during a pandemic but don’t get many Friday nights off as I also work in the restaurant industry. We checked in for our reservation and the hostess offered us cocktails while we waited for our table to be ready, we thought that was a very nice touch. We sat on the outside on the sidewalk, was hoping for the patio seating but it was a fully booked night so understandable. Ordered a bottle of wine. Started with some shareables; oysters, tuna tartare, baguette and butter (which I think are the best I’ve had since the last visit to France). We also shared the raviolo and chicken tagine. I was under the impression shaved truffles were part of the dish but the food runner clumsily tried to upsell us on the shavings, we passed. Also when they had dropped the tagine they joked that the cous-cous were tortillas. Random.
I wanted to love our experience at Republique but maybe it was the atmosphere or bums passing by smoking frequently or even sitting at unbiased tables, or just underwhelmed with the service and food for the price we paid. Perhaps we will visit for brunch and try again.
Republique sets the standard for me when it comes to an amazing dining experience. The service from every single worker is on point. There was a mix up with my reservation on this particular night. I received a call from HR and their manager whom were able to sort the situation out. When I arrived to Republique from start to finish the food and service was beyond. My date was experiencing Republique for the first time and was blown away. I absolutely love coming here.
I was very excited to go. However, I found the food to be really mediocre and overpriced. The service was notably poor, even with capacity reduced due to COVID. Maybe brunch is better?
Great job, esp during this pandemic. Will be back
Just one if our favorite places. It never disappoints
The drinks were great and so was the food. We had a late reservation and at no point did we feel rushed. It was also my boyfriends first time there for dinner and he really liked the food. It was a great dinner overall.
everything was absolutely delightful. i have ZERO complaints about the experience from the food, service + ambiance.
Republique did a good job of coping with covid restrictions. They created a very pleasant outdoor patio in the parking lot. The food and service were excellent.
Sidewalk seating very loud. Food expensive. And only ok.
The food and staff are so amazing that even take away the beautiful restaurant and it was still an incredible experience. Seemed they took every safety precaution possible. Pan drippings are always a must. The burrata salad, incredible. Drinks, wine, desserts. All divine. Thank you to the Republique team for making a "regular" quarantine Friday night extra special.
