Game-changing, delicious French food in an incredible space in Mid-Wilshire. Hop on the Republique train.
Love Republique - service is excellent and food is outstanding!
This is seriously fine dining, and we were fed and treated so well our first night that we canceled plans we had made earlier and went back the next night. The food is inventive but classically good. Everyone involved in service is well prepared, and the communication among them makes the whole thing seamless. Next time in LA, we'll be back.
This restaurant is really amazing. If you like charcuterie platters this is the place for you. The addition of the cheeses is outstanding. I had the Green Goddess salad and it was delicious. My daughter had the rabbit ravioli which she inhaled. My older daughter loved the quail. Really fun place. My only complaint is that they offered me pure potato vodka, but didn't tell me it was infused with flowers. My allergies kicked in, but how would they know that.
Republique is always consistently amazing. Whenever I can, I try and meet there for lunch or dinner. This meal was no exception.
Our server Ally was also above and beyond great that evening as well ;)
Lovely Resturant! Really nice and good food. Well priced.
Service and food was outstanding. We were celebrating an 87th birthday and were
pleased that we were seated in the back room. The noise level made it difficult but
possible to hold a conversation. The dim light made it difficult for our elderly guests
to read the menu and the availability of a small flashlight would have made it more
comfortable for them. We will return again for the service and food.
Hands down one of the best meals in LA, order anything. Flavor is 3-D and ingredients are superb.
Fantasttic place with a buzzing atmosphere. Outstanding marketdriven cuisine. Wanted to try every dish on the menu. Came for breakfast as well which was equally gpod
Republique is a culinary and experiential treat! We love eating there and do so as often as we can. The menu is filled with mouthwatering taste designing combinations of everyday foods that makes you say wow! Pair your meal with great wines by the glass and share with your love or friends - I always leave with a big smile and can’t wait to go back. The ambiance is fun and yes a little noisy. We always try to go early and finish when it really gets hopping. Enjoy!!!
Such a lovely experience! Every aspect was well done! Would recommend for a group of two or group of four as things are meant to be shared.
The flavor and quality of the food is amazing. I highly recommend the duck and the ricotta agnolotti. The price is kinda high for the amount of food you get, but to me, it's worth it because the food is incredibly delicious.
Republique is open for lunch as well and it might be more quiet, but during dinner time it gets kind of loud. They have long communal dining tables good for large groups, but if you want a more intimate experience, probably ask for a smaller table.
This is one of our favorite restaurants. The service always blows my mind. From the hosts at the door, to the folks filling our water, to the servers that are very attentive. I've only had one mediocre experience out of the 8 times we've been there.
Food and service was outstanding! Will definitely go back and recommend to friends
The food is AMAZING! Dessert is a must have since they are all made from scratch.
Third visit, excellent again. Baguette with Normandy butter (got a refill baguette), spinach cavatelli, Sonoma duck breast, panna cotta with orange blossoms, glass of Malbec. Server overheard my comment about Marge getting another Beard nomination and brought us an almond brown butter cake dessert for free! Still one of my faves in LA
Undeniably one of the best restaurants in LA. Never a disappointment. The food was excellent, service impeccable - our waitresses recommendations were on point!
Best place to celebrate anything - including a Tuesday night!!
Great service and the food is fantastic!!
We had a wonderful time. Our server, Adrienne, was excellent, and everything we ate and drank was delicious. We will most definitely return.
Everybody was amazing, pan drippings are killer and steak is to die for.
Quite expensive and left hungry but very tasty for sure!
We booked a party of 10 for my birthday and it came off feeling like a scam. First of all we did not realize that everything was family style which wasn't a problem but wouldve been nice to be given the option. When the waiter asked what we would like, we said we would love for him to guide us through the menu however, he asked if we had any restrictions and over half the table doesnt eat bread, so we alerted him to that.
He started with the oysters and when he said he was going to start us with oysters, we told him no thank you and to run all options of what he was thinking through us but he did not do that and still sent the oysters.
After the oysters came two breaded appetizers which we clearly told him we do not eat.
After the breaded appetizers came the pork belly which was great.
After the pork belly, came 6 orders of PASTA!!! We had communicated with our server 5 different times that we did not eat bread yet he ordered enough pasta for the restaurant. By this time we were too far into his selections to change but the whole table was unsatisfied.
It was my birthday party and I felt embarrassed for bringing my friends to a restaurant where the waiter would not listen to directions.
After the pasta came the steak which was great but not enough for 10 people.
Then to top it off they brought out cake for the bday which usually is a nice gesture but after repeatedly telling him we dont eat bread/gluten, it was a bad look. Wouldve loved a healthier option but they missed the mark severely.
While all this was happening, we were ordering drinks and the wait was unbearable as well. One old fashioned took about 20 minutes to arrive at the table. Also while i was drinking the old fashioned, it was still about a quarter full, he asked if I would like another, I proceeded to say no and he took my unfinished drink anyways.
It was a disaster of a birthday dinner, and was really some poor service for over a 1300 bill.
There was soo much fat on the short rib and it was not worth 40 bucks but the manager was such a sweetheart (Melissa) (and it was fab and she gave us free wine (Buji Cerdon) and she comp’d the short rib and the almond cake was amazing!!! Love the vibe of the restaurant.
This is the same review I posted to Yelp...
I am soooo confused by the Yelp and Open Table reviews...I went last night after a friend recommended and reading a bunch of reviews.
This place was awful! the Food, some of the worst I have ever had...unfulfilling and had to go eat afterward to cleanse my palette AND fill my belly.
Started with ordering sparkling water...nothing sparkling so had to get a club soda in anticipation of all the wonderful food I was going to eat!
Server #1 'explained' the menu...and said starting on the left the portions are smaller then larger to the right...and all the dishes are meant to be shared.
Server #2 arrives 20 minutes later to take our order...okay, she is bubbly and lovely. Lets us know what they are out of. we never did get an explanation of why the switch.
We, three of us, order the bread plate, Cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, and the Braised Short Rib.
About 10 minutes later the Short Rib arrives. It is not like it was pictured...and it came first? its warm. I should have take a pic but did not want to seem gauche, but now desperately regret. It was about 1.5" x 3", 1.5" high, surrounded by al dente beans, 3 pieces of I think grilled cauliflower and 2 red/orange root vegies. You needed a knife to cut the beef and we each enjoyed chewing our bite like it was gum.
She arrived and apologized for the main coming first...we presume there is more coming to the main? nah.
Then the brussel sprout dish arrives...tasty and we are thankful for the large portion. Its got a few weird flavors that do not blend, but okay.
Then we wait. and wait. and wait. I finally grab our girl and let her know the cauliflower still has not arrived. she locates soon after and it is dreadful. covered in too much nonsense and too many flavors. She assures us she will not charge and is sorry for the order.
The wine list is soo bloated. Others may find it impressive but we are pretty well-versed and travel the world enjoying food and wine. There
Republique is definitely an eatery you go to for the gorgeous atmosphere and stay for the wonderful service and exceptional selection of sharable plates. A friend and I visited with the intention to share a late-nite dessert and coffee to celebrate good news we had received, but once we sat down we could not help but order a selection of their oysters (we tried 4 different varieties), their perfectly salted butter, and two desserts. Definitely a place you should stray away if you are weakened by the culinary vices. Although we were sat in the corner of the back room of the restaurant there was still this vibrant buzz felt from each table; quiet enough that we were able to talk, but loud enough that we felt our conversations weren't being listened to by other tables. Overall, a very pleasant experience. Can not wait to return again in the daylight when the place is sure to glow even brighter than in the evening.
Wait staff was extremely nice and knowledgeable. Food was amazing, the crab campanelle with uni butter was the star of the show.
First dinner was excellent except they forgot to bring our oysters
second dinner was way to long so they offered a complimentary small bowl of soup (potage) to make our wait more pleasant which was very kind from the restaurant I guess manager or waitress to do this..
My main course arrived way to cold. Pasta in a duck sauce w/ porcini (I don’t think there was enough porcini) and we were seating upstairs so I assume my plate must have set on the counter and then to bring it all the way up made it even colder.
It is a pricey restaurant so I wouldn’t say it is an everyday place unless you order no food, very little food I meant.
Excellent food and cocktails! Loved the atmosphere, and the service was exceptional!
great customer service!
Amazing evening on all levels. Food and service were exceptional!!
Absolutely amazing. Can’t wait to come back!
We had a wonderful dinner celebrating our daughter's birthday
Always a special experience! DELICIOUS food, amazing service!
The service was fantastic, the wine pairing was on point and the smoked eel beignets were yummy and interesting. The crunchy on the outside- feathery light on the inside warm baguettes were heavenly. Republique never disappoints!
They left me waiting on my birthday for 45 minutes
My friends and I have a monthly dinner club and we chose Republique in March. Our rezzy was at 8pm for 4 people. It was PACKED and on a Tuesday night! The hostess was all smiles, attentive, and apologetic for the wait. As was the seater, as was our waitress, and the sommelier was a great listener! We had the eclairs, beignets, two pastas, beet salad, brussel sprouts, roasted chicken, butter cake, and rhubarb with basil ice cream. DEE-lish!
Outstanding taste, presentation and good service.
Just to have to wait half an hour to be seated with Reservation
Incluso con reservación, hay que esperar mucho tiempo.
