I think we are finally taking a step back and will never return to this restaurant after the third bad experience in a row. Showed up to a half empty restaurant and got told it would be a 15 minute wait after waiting for over half an hour we were walked to our seats passing multiple empty spots. It was clear there was a staffing issue as servers were running from table to table whilst juggling a bartender role all at once. By the time we order we've now been here for over 40 minutes and we have no food so picked what we assumed would be the two quickest things for the kitchen to produce to save time. Another 35 minutes pass and we've now been here for over an hour completely fed up and just wanting to cancel everything. The appetizers show up - we ordered the cauliflower balls which came out no word of exaggeration black but clearly trying to be covered up with sauce , took a bite into them and they were stone cold. At this point we just ask our server to cancel our meals if they haven't already been placed if not pack them up to go even at this point we aren't asked if everything is okay which to me is not acceptable when you are spending over $80 for a burned cold appetizer and then when we received our to go boxes they had just been thrown into a box not even sealed and handed over to us. It's a super huge disappointment as when this restaurant first opened we were very loyal customers, I don't know what happened over the last few years but I will never be returning:
Problems in kitchen led you a long delay in service
Craig, the server did an excellent job of making certain our group of 7 was well looked after. The kitchen was a little slow, because there were 3 other large groups who placed order just before us. But Craig made certain we were well watered and looked after while we waited. The food arrived hot and was very tasty. But, the wine was the best part of the meal. They have a great selection.
WE arrived at opening and were taken to our table, the music was a bit loud for us and the waiter Shawn went and turned it down. We were sitting under the air conditioner and they were concerned that it was too cold and made the adjustment. Food was great and served in a timely matter. They were a bit under staffed but were handling very thing very well. We would recommend to anyone and will return ourselves when we are going into the city.
Out of a lot of menu items. Slow service. Will not be returning.
Food was great, service was really good and a nice leisurely pace.
Our server didn't tell us his name, was very awkward, and my drink was empty for at least half of the meal. My tenderloin was extremely rare, even though I asked for medium. My dates steak was mid-well, even though he asked for mid-rare. We were offered a free dessert for this mistake but it didn't feel genuine at all. I will not come back and will not recommend this venue to anyone.
Went here for Valentine's dinner. Food was okay- steaks done fine. Potatoes au gratin were dry and chewy. Vegetables were overcooked. No bread to start with. Service was mediocre even though restaurant was half empty. We decided to go home for dessert instead of staying longer.
The menu has really gone downhill recently. Our food was only mediocre and some was burnt. We went on Valentine's day and there were couples in their 50s and 60s and the restaurant had terrible r&b and rap music playing very loud (and it was not the end of the night). The items that really set redwater apart in the past no longer exist on the menu. The menu is very boring. Very difficult to find something worth trying. Terrible experience. I won't be going back
Freezing cold temperature in booth
No sauce on steak (Supposed to be house sauce)
Go back to the menu from 4 years ago.
Bring back the maple bbq steak sauce!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I will never come back until it is back On the menu.
Everything was great except food came late!
In overal I enjoyed the food.
The server was very attentive and the food was cooked to perfection. One of our favourite restaurants.
Sean was the best server I've ever had. Food was awesome.
I have never had a bad experience at this restaurant. Both my husband and I enjoy the service and the food provided at this restaurant. I would recommend everyone to try Redwater Grill at least once.
I was impressed by the people that worked there. Everyone that we talked to were approachable and friendly. The atmosphere would be very nice for a date night. We came as a group and enjoyed the atmosphere very much.
The food was good but small portions. The service was not all that friendly nor was it very efficient. I thought it was on the high end of the price scale but had the service and portion size been bigger I would pay the high end pricing.
the fish and chips were less than satisfactory - too bad I ordered them. Should have had my usual steak sandwich that I know is good.
With so many restaurants that are both busy and noisy over the lunch hour, it is lovely to have a place to sink into that offers healthy food options and an atmosphere conducive to intimate conversation. Redwater offers both.
Accommodated a table by fireplace even tho they weren’t seating customers in this area. Service was perfect!
Server was friendly but didn’t visit much during the second half. Couldn’t find her for the bill. Friend had to run back to work and she still didn’t return for 15 min.
We were sad that the NW location closed - so we took the long trek across town on the Sunday night blizzard - RedWater did not disappoint! Delicious food, great service, peace & quiet....the kid portion of pasta seemed a bit smaller than we remember, but a great experience & great birthday celebration!!
It was a great experience until we were paying. We were paying by gift card and then the rest on debit/credit, Accidentally, we only gave a small tip because the percentage only came off the small amount not covered by the gift card and so when we handed the machine back to our waitress she flipped out and acted like she was having a heart attack because the tip was smaller than she wanted. My partner and I found it rather rude.
Service was good. Kitchen was there.
We were on a tight time schedule and I notified the restaurant ahead of time. Excellent in getting us in and out on time.
Meals were tasty but we though overpriced for the portion sizes. But then again it’s the nature of the industry these days. Mixed veggies on the side were a combo of three, I asked for only 2 of the 3. Turns out upon presentation, that 1 veggie they were out of. I assume my plate would be topped up with the on3 veggie. There was just 4-5 beans which I thought was skimpy especially for the price.
Red Water has been one of our absolute favorite restaurants for years. We have had company parties and other private events there. This last visit we noticed some unfortunate changes. All of our meals were average at best. It almost seemed like they had been pre-made and then warmed upon ordering. The appetizers as well were more like what you may find at your local pub. Our waiter was great and the drinks were fantastic.
Our cocktails never arrived, waited over an hour for our entree that apparently had been under a heat lamp for a long time. Just an overall disappointing experience. Should have gone to McDonalds.
Excellent food and service. The only thing that was a bit weird for me is that I was asked if this was for a special occasion (which it was - a birthday) however no one acknowledged it or did anything special. Not sure why it's even on the form.
The food was good but service was slow. Fortunately, we were not in a hurry.
Booked dinner as a birthday surprise for my girlfriend. We were met at the table by our waiter and two glasses of Champaign. Our appy came quickly (delicious) along with a great bottle of wine. The main course was steaks which were cooked perfectly. Dessert was a small piece of chocolate cake that melted in our mouths. Our waiter was very professional with just the right amount of humour. He kept our glasses full without hovering or checking a thousand times if we were ok.
