Seafood
"Friends don't let friends eat frozen fish" is the mantra at Red Fish Grill, Ralph Brennan's vibrant, seafood-centric landmark which delivers locally-sourced, seasonally fresh, innovative twists on Gulf fish, oysters, shrimp, crab, and crawfish and anchors the first block of Bourbon Street. Named one of the nation's "Best Seafood Restaurants" by Travel + Leisure and readers of USA Today (and 9x 'Best Oyster Po-boy' winner at the New Orleans Po Boy Festival), Red Fish Grill has dominated the French Quarter seafood scene for over 20 years. Polished-casual service co-stars alongside Chef Chris Vazquez's signature menu featuring our namesake Hickory Grilled Redfish, Alligator Sausage & Seafood Gumbo, flash-fried BBQ Oysters in Crystal butter sauce, and decadent Double Chocolate Bread Pudding, AKA - "the 8th wonder of the world". Red Fish Grill's festive décor, expansive bar, oyster bar, and laid-back vibe offer a perfect prelude to or occasion for a night in the Quarter.

Our server was very sweet and attentive. The food was amazing! The crab cake was one of the best I’ve ever had and the crab leg 2 course meal was fantastic! We also enjoyed the Hurricane (very strong, tho, so be careful because it will sneak up on you) and the French Quarter drink was delicious! I would definitely return again and recommend it to anyone I know visiting New Orleans!

I ate there but unlike to return. I only chose this place because a friend recommended, but clearly we have different standards for dinning. The gumbo was good, but not very warm. The dish I picked was just bad. Nothing went with nothing on that dish (shrimp, grits and pulled pork). The green tomato chow chow definitely didn’t go with (basic sweet pickle relish). On the menu sounded interesting, but it wasn’t any good. The service was good and Mr. Ronald was pleasant and attentive. Overall felt like we were eating at a plain ol chain restaurant (O’Charleys or Olive Garden). I don’t really recommend since there are so many better options around NOLA area.

Service was exceptional! The food was decent but basic New Orleans flare nothing spectacular. The praline ice cream was the best ever.

Paid $100 for two entrees that we’re supposed to be fresh fish. It came out rubbery, charred and covered in salt and was in 3 pieces and looked crumbled. The presentation was poor and tasted terrible

My husband, daughter, and I chose Redfish for brunch because we have been many times and love the typically great food and service. We planned to enjoy a great meal and watch our favorite team play baseball.
I politely asked the bartender to change one of the televisions to ESPN2 and he did so. The network changed last minute and my husband (also politely) asked that it be changed. The bartender declined in favor of showing a soccer match - Denmark vs. Finland - that no one in the bar was watching. My husband asked if he might change the other television (that was not being watched by other patrons either). He declined. The rude bartender declined a perfectly reasonable request to show an SEC baseball game in favor of obscure programming that no one was watching.
We enjoyed the food and drinks that we did have before we were forced to decline our entrees as they came out of the kitchen and find an establishment that would show our game.
Sonia - our server - was great and very pleasant, but there was no effort to make it right at all. So disappointed in one of our repeat spots for brunch.

The crab cake was a perfect dish in flavor and preparation. My husband enjoyed his steak, also cooked perfectly.

My entree was not wonderful the blackened fish was not to my taste and the pototoes were dry
They exchanged it for me but the shrimp and grits was so spicy i couldn't breathe. I couldnt tell what the spice was nor from which part of the dish (they did apologize and did not charge us for what i could not eat)
The prailine dessert was totally amazing. I would go back just for the dessert.

The service was impeccable so overall a fine experience for our anniversary dinner.

Awesome atmosphere. Loved food and drink. Benjamin was a wealth of knowledge. He was funny but thorough. Was my sons 22nd birthday. Benjamin made it very special. When we walked in at 6:30 on Saturday night, there was a 3 hour wait.

Also highly recommend saving room for dessert. The ice cream is fantastic

Redfish Grill without redfish is sad…the striped bass was ok. I miss all the good sauces offered with the redfish in past. Barbecue oysters were very good. The Praline Sundae was delicious! Our server, Melanie, was excellent.

We stopped by on our 1 St night in town but was told there was a wait of 1 1/2 hrs. So we made reservations for brunch the next day. We arrived earlier than our reservations & was immediately seated. Our waiter (Jimmy) was very attentive, very knowledgeable & funny. Our food came out pretty fast & when my husband’s meal can our wrong (Asia) took it back & got it fixed & brought back out in no time. The hostess even acknowledged that we were there celebrating our anniversary & held small talk with us with a smile. The bourbon street car was awesome & that sweet potato hash was everything. I enjoyed the shrimp appetizer & the gumbo was great. Everything about this place from the food to the drinks & definitely the staff explains why there wait is always long. People like to go where everything is good.
