We had a great celebration with friends and service and food were great.
My favorite place to take clients in Fort Collins. The aged steaks are a 10!
The wine list is good and staff is great and very knowledgeable. It's on the expensive side but well worth it. I'll be coming back again and again.
Server was great and happy hour incredible value.
This restaurant is a must! I am a foody, and loved our meals. I had the lasagna, the smaller portion, my husband had the risotto, both fabulous. The waiter, Dan, was outstanding!!!! He was present just enough, and so on top of our service. He was knowledgable, and absolutly great. I definitly plan on returning.
Soup of the day was outstanding, the calamari over cooked and chewy, arancini not great, chicken lentils dry lacked flavor, brassato was good, lasagna good, bucatini dry.
The beef tenderloin was superb, especially with the veal demi glace - perfectly cooked and with good flavor. I love the Cellothyme cocktail. It's limoncello, prosecco, and thyme - really good. My mom had the Brasato. It's kind of like beef stew. It was excellent as well. My dad's New York Strip was okay, definitely not as good as the filet. The atmosphere is modern and hip. A good night all around.
Another great dinner at RARE. Best antipasto in Colorado and outstanding steaks. Great service.
First time at RARE and thought we'd try it for dinner and arrived in time for happy hour. The antipasto plate was delish and almost enough to skip dinner! Husband had a pizza and I went for the lasagna which I felt was a bit small for the serving and price. Otherwise it was tasty and hot! Enjoyed the Italian Arnold Palmer drink....unique.
Food was great, we had steaks and fish and bunch of different appetizers, everything was amazing!
Always outstanding service!
We flew in from Philadelphia and decided to treat ourselves to the tasting menu. It was AMAZING. They also had half off bottles of wine that day and graciously informed us of the deal after we already agreed to pay $50 more per person for the wine pairing. Kudos to them! They also allowed us to make a last minute reservation for the tasting menu which usually must be made at least 24hrs in advance. Highly recommend and definitely will go there every time we fly in to Colorado!
My wife and I both had the meatballs with polenta, it was outstanding. Our grandson is a sophomore at CSU. Rare is his favorite restaurant in Fort Collins. He ate a mixed salad, a new York strip and Blueberry Crostata for desert which he thoroughly enjoyed. The waitress was very friendly and helpful, although she mixed up our order and gave us someone else's bill. No bigee, just annoying.
As with previous times before, my experience dining at RARE Italian was very good. However, on this particular occasion, one of the dishes I ordered was a disappointment. The TAGLIATELLE MARINARA, which I have ordered in the past, was quite bitter. The sauce tasted literally like tomato paste straight out of a can and had very little flavor to it other than harsh tomato. Never have I experienced this before with this dish and I have ordered it 5 times. The noodles were fine but the sauce leaved much be to be desired.
I hope this feedback is helpful.
Amazing food and service. If we lived in ft Collins, we would be regulars.
The shrimp appetizer was good. Meatball main seemed to be missing its seasoning and unsalted. Service ok but inattentive. Noise level made it difficult for my wife and I to converse.
Steaks were best in town! Pasta also great.
I didn’t like the tortellini.
Great food! Staff was super accommodating and friendly.
As Rare has matured, the food and service have improved significantly. It's now a go-to place for us and we send our friends there.
Service with John was absolutely awful.
Never checked on table.
Food was cold. And poorly made.
When he finally stopped by 25 minutes later and we told him.
He just said would you like your check or would you like dessert
Overall great! Tables are too close together for an intimate dining experience.
The food and Serv here are top notch! I always get the lasagna and fresh mozzarella and my husband gets the New York strip. This is basically the only place we eat at these days!
Food quality was excellent, we prepared, good presentation. It took a while to get our food though.
Food was absolutely fabulous! Everything we ate exceeded expectations.
The food was mediocre for the price. I would’ve expected more from them. The ambiance was quite cute...just felt like it should’ve been much higher quality.
Way too noisy. Food was OK but overpriced.
We enjoyed everything about our meal however the service is what stood out as exceptional. Michelle was professional and friendly, knowledgeable about both the food and wines. Highly recommended.
The food was very good, all meals great, calamari overcooked, service very lethargic and not real attentive. asked for bread, asked for parmigiana, asked for the things that should have come by a proactive server, we did the asking...
Our waiter never refilled our drinks nor offered to. We were a younger couple there for a date night and all our waiter cared about was his older customers, who he assumed would tip better. They were out of what I originally ordered and the service was very poor for the price you pay.
Pasta sauce tasted like it was out of a can. Steak was expensive but not tender or juicy. Fried calamari had a strange breading in it.
Had a nice dinner; tenderloin and other entree very good; service excellent; antipasto especially good; highly recommend
It would have been great but they lost our order. Told me food was coming but everyone around us was getting their food but we didn’t. We even had to ask for bread after waiting a half hour. We flagged down the manager because couldn’t get our waiter. The manager found the error (was not our waiter’s fault). Got our order prioritized and covered the bill. The waiter did come by after we talked to the manager realizing we didn’t even have our appetizer yet and was ready to escalate the issue. He was not very attentive initially but definitely stepped up after he realized. The food was all very good. From the looks we were the only ones that had the issue so I believe it was a fluke. Would definitely go back. They definitely took ownership of the mistake and made it right. No one is perfect, it is how you handle it that makes the difference and they did very well there.
Good food, great service and ambiance. Rare Italian also has a great Happy Hour.
Great Italian pasta and inspired dishes. Wonderful wine list and half off bottles Sunday, can't beat it!
The service and food were exceptionally good. The only negative for us was the noise level, but that is a condition we have found at most restaurants in Fort Collins and elsewhere. We loved the 50% off bottles of wine and will make a point of returning to the restaurant on a Sunday.
Excellent food! Can’t wait to go back! Quattro pizzeta was so good.
"I love the attention to detail and authenticity of service. The environment is very classy without being pretentious , and the food is always fabulous.
Food was good. Though expensive for portion size. We ordered the risotto without the Pancetta because my daughter is vegetarian, it came with the Pancetta. The server was indifferent about it. Luckily, I had ordered something without meat as well so we could trade
We love going to Rare. Love the feel of the restaurant our service every time has been impeccable. Wine choices great, steaks great, other dishes can be so, so sometimes. Ragu and Pasta, always delicious as well as charcuterie and salami platters. Rare is always a stop when we visit.
