My husband and I had an a combo anniversary dinner and flying in to see our niece. This restaurant was a great introduction to Boulder and Colorado cuisine. It had unique flavors, impeccable service, and set the standard for our trip.
Great weekday lunch--some old Zolo classics and a new item or two. Everything was well-prepared and tasty.
First time back since reopening and new menu and everything was delicious! They were accommodating to my ridiculous allergies and the drinks were spot on. Great experience, a Boulder staple you must support!
The food and drinks were incredible! I think this is our new fav in Boulder.
So delicious! And the safety practices are the best you'll see. We will definitely be back for the chicken enchiladas and banana cream pie!
Love the menu! This restaurant never disappoints, have been eating here for the last 18 years!
Some of the food was a little bit overcooked for my taste, but the atmosphere and our server Madi made it up for it! Will be back😊
Wonderful food as s as always. It appeared as if there was a staff shortage as our server was running all around and had quite a few tables to take care of. Usually much more attentive. We arrived exactly when they opened up at 4P with reservations and only one couple in front of us. I suspect this was a problem for that day, Sunday the 30th
Good variety of food. Mexican and more tradiotional like ribs and fish with a mexican twist. Peach grumble great, for desert, very small slice of chocolate cake so that portion not good value, But overall very good value and xorn bread to start wonderful. Service started off great but when it got bisy inside sort of forget about us. We collected plates and out them at the end of our table, had to go in to ask about deserts also had to go in to ask for the bill. I think they were short staffed.
The shrimp appetizer and chicken enchiladas where delicious!!! Home made corn bread was really great as well.
Great restaurant- have gone there for years. It is loud so we do sometimes go elsewhere if we need to talk a lot. But that’s my only complaint.
Super service and nice change to the menu to use more locally sourced ingredients in the recipes.
As I've come to expect at Zolo, the food and service were well above average. We shared the corn fritters and I had the chili salad, both were delicious. As was the complimentary cornbread, fabulous! Only wish I'd had room for banana cream pie. Next time!
Love the refreshed menu options. The Cactus & Corn Fritters, Pan Seared Colorado Trout, and House Mojito are not to be missed!
Out of everything
Zolo Grill has always been one of our long-time favorite restaurants. The revised menu after the pandemic is outstanding, new additions included.
We truly enjoyed the flavors of the food. Everything was delish.
Our picture is a shared plate of tamales.
Drinks we very good and so was the banana cream pie!
Very happy to see Zolo’s reopen. Patio seating was nicely spaced. About the only negative was the abbreviated menu. Prepandemic, they had tasty and spicy soups. They only had gazpacho. I’m sure the menu will expand as customers return.
Zolo used to be great but they have changed their format away from Tex Mex. They don’t have the amazing homemade guacamole and chips anymore. The burger was raw, the ribs were dry and overcooked and mostly fatty. Needed to flag down the server to get drinks started. We were ignored for a long time after we were sat. Margs were in short glasses and full of ice so they consisted of about 3 sips. Been there many times and will probably not go again. Disappointed since they used to be so good.
Everything was good other than it took 25 minutes to get our first round of drinks once we sat down
Good food, service and ambience.
Amazing apps and entrees!
Super good food! Great to see them open again! Campfire margaritas and chicken enchiladas with an egg on it are my go to. They were very good with covid awareness and the tables inside and out are well spaced out.
Great service and an excellent table. With limited menu options, variety at the table was limited. Skirt steak was great. Enchiladas ok but pricy. Our chile relleno appetizer was excellent, but with one small pepper, not a good value for the price.
Due to Covid we had to wait 35 minutes before getting seated for our reservation. No problem at all. We understand the challenges. However our waiter seemed to forget we were there and it took another 30 minutes to get first drinks. The food was then fast and really excellent! I love this place, the menu and prices are very fair. Will return many times!
Returned after a while and was quite impressed! We've always enjoyed Zolo's, but the food and drink were notably stepped up. Of course, the service has always been wonderful. We really enjoyed the experience!
We had an outstanding dining experience Sunday evening at Zolo Grill. The wait staff was attentive, and the food was outstanding! A great way to celebrate our anniversary.
It was our 20th anniversary! They gave us a complimentary dessert and had a card signed by all the staff. Was a sweet touch.
Zolo has changed their menu and it’s a sandwich and burger restaurant now. Disappointing.
Great! Missing happy hour but everything was delicious. Thank you!
Felt "safe" dining here with COVID-19 precautions in place. Servers did a fantastic job and the food was as delicious as always! Thanks for a nice meal out!We will go back again.
Awesome food, great service ... very mindful of the pandemic and the staff added to our amazing experience.
great food service and atmosphere. Will be back soon.
We were vacationing in Boulder and by far the best meal we had was at Zolos.
The new menu is awesome, everything we had was super delicious. And the service was outstanding. So glad to have one of our favorite restaurants open again!
They changed their menu and are no longer a Mexican restaurant. We went for my birthday and the waitress was pretty annoyed at my group for all the questions we were asking due to the changed menu. Additionally she was very sassy when we asked for “guacamole” and corrected us stating it’s actually some guacamole goddess thing on the menu. Overall Zolo has changed a lot and is no longer the restaurant I used to love
Very disappointed in the new menu. This was a great restaurant with a true signature identity, but after the rollout of their new post-pandemic menu, I don’t know what they’re trying to do. Really missed their delectable chips and salsa and guac, and definitely ordered fewer drinks as a result. Im really hoping they rethink this experiment and stick with what got them there. Will hope for the best and give them another chance in a few months...
We were so happy when Zolo opened up again, however we were disappointed in the food. The menu changed and the portions were smaller than they used to be. Even the margaritas were smaller. Service was great, but we missed the old menu.
This was my first time eating at Zolo Grill since COVID. They were very accommodating to whatever seating arrangement we felt most comfortable and safe, given the open tables. They have outdoor seating, and seating in a sunroom with lots of cross ventilation. If you have a strong preference, a reservation specifying where you would like to sit is probably your best bet.
The food and service were excellent.
The new menu was overall really disappointing. We have been going to Zolo for years and expected certain dishes. I think this new menu is really pushing too far away from the New Mexico Southwest cuisine that made Zolo special. Sad.
