The drinks were nice and food was good.
The ordering through the phone works well
Celebrating my sisters birthday! We had a wonderful time. Ambiance was beautiful, servers were extremely attentive, our food was delicious and the music was on point.
Service a little slow but not bad. Very loud- too loud!
Loved It! Baja Fish Tacos were sublime!
Can't wait to come back!
The contact-free menu system continues to be tedious. Nobody comes by to check anymore if you need anything during your meal.
Wonderful service, ambiance, food was delicious!
Food and service 10/10! We enjoyed our experience!
Good and drinks were great.
Only issue was their billing system. Some items had listed “paid” but on their system it wasn’t showing paid. It made of difficult for us to pay the bill and some orders were added to other people’s bills.
Was initially disappointed about the horrible order by phone method but was relieved to still get assistance from an actual human, it almost felt normal. Taking away human to human interaction especially at a restaurant should never occur. Food was fairly priced and the venue is beautiful as always
Great food! Great ambiance! Great way to start the day!
We had to use only the scan code. Waitress never even offered water and did not come around at all. Only the folks to drop off the food.
Be ready to use your phone for all the menu ordering, it’s easy but you do all of the ordering w help from staff as needed. The phone menu requirement is a pivot to safer public dining. However it takes away from the full service feel. Trying to order at the same time as the rest of your table is a challenge. Enjoy!
Service was very good; food was delicious! The restaurant is loud; please turn down the music.
It was birthday
Food was excellent, prices reasonable.
As with anything right now, Covid has put a strain on service. Not my ideal experience to do my own ordering through the phone, but I had known that going in after seeing reviews.
Very attentive service from multiple staff members. Food was fast and delicious. The Blackberry Margarites are not to be missed!
Wonderful decor and ambiance. Really enjoyed being there for delicious food and drinks.
Everything was great except for our waitress forgot about our drinks and disappeared for 1 hour we had to reach out to different waiters for help and finally our waitress came again and once again forgot our drinks and We had to ask someone else for help. We later saw her at the bar .!it looks like she was busy celebrating new years.not good, service but great place and environment. Its not usually like that with the service..
Taco Salad was great !
Special lunch for husbands birthday, seated upon arrival with reservation. Disappointed to have to order using phone app, was looking to disconnect from phone. Menu limited due to COVID. Just learned chips and salsa were complimentary, we never received any upon seating, did receive water. Food was delicious. Service limited. Ordered cocktail from bar and Mojito did not taste traditional, something was off. Most likely not to return for indoor experience, will consider curbside in the future.
Food and blackberry Margaritas were amazing.
I love the ambiance and food. I just hate the new online ordering it’s WAY too complicated.
We love eating at Zocalo Midtown, but this time seemed more like the lunch was an afterthought - pozole was lukewarm and it took us to bring attention to the hostess to request more chips and salsa.
Had a reservation, place almost empty, seated next to the kitchen?
Music too loud.
Idiotic computer menu/self-order set up.
Paltry menu/food choices.
Friendly staff had to spend unnecessary time helping us with the self order, ultimately spent more time just taking our order!
bottom line, going out to eat should be a pleasurable experience. we’ve been to Zócalo‘s a few times and it was outstanding. We won’t be back.
we understand that the virus protocols required of our idiotica state governor are the issue, however, the self ordering thing completely nullifies the concept of a pleasant dining experience, and being waited on, rather than waiting on ourselves. In other words what’s the point? We would’ve been just as happy, if not happier going to a Taco Bell drive-through. additionally, we feel bad for the wait staff as it has got to cut down on their tips. We don’t mind tipping to be waited on.
Food was good, I do not like the ordering through your phone and told the manager I wanted the server to take orders. Why pay to dine out when you are doing everything yourself. Manager working night of 12/27/21 was not helpful. The server for our table was great as were the food runners. The restaurant does have great ambiance I will give it another chance.
Terrible service from our waitress. All other wait staff was very nice. Food was good. Great atmosphere.
Separately, they really need to fix the toilets in the ladies room. They don't flush properly. So even though the bathroom is well appointed and generally clean, it's not very pleasant if you have to go.
Food was excellent as was our server. Very limited wine list. Big problem with ordering food & drinks using our phones. Drinks came out after 2 dinners were already served and the remaining dinners came out over the next 20 minutes. it would have been nice to eat at the same time. Tried to order more drinks during dinner but unable to do so on 3 different phones. Need big improvement on using the phone app. This didn't work for our group of 7.
The food and drinks are very tasty, somewhat pricey. It's decorated nicely but it is a bit noisy.
Zocalo was delicious! Service was great and attentive.
Beautifully decorated for the holidays. Ordering app was cumbersome and food was cold.
Rosa our waitress was so helpful at navigating the QR code and app that I desperately needed help with. A big thank you goes out to Rosa’s customer service
Absolutely did not like the no menu policy and had to order from your phone. Too confusing too much to do when all I wanted was to be waited on stress-free evening. There was so much confusion that my wonderful waiter took our order by hand.
Was our first time there and had a great evening. Staff was swamped, but they were amazing and super friendly. Made it a great night with great friends. (Seemed the rest of the restaurant was having fun too)
Will definitely be back! Thank you!
Enjoyed the beautiful ambience. Took my 9year old and 5year old out on a girls date night to the Ballet. They enjoyed the food as well. Heat lamps available outside and service was fast. The pozole was amazing but a little on the thick side, I prefer mines a little bit “more brothy”.
Crowded with no seats for those waiting—stood for about 1 hour. Food good but delivered at different times.
Zocalo is such a vibe. The indoor and outdoor seating areas are beautiful. The menu, ordering and payment are all done at the time through a QR code which is kinda nice. The food is really good and it’s a great price.
It was my first business meal at this restaurant. The food was great and the scenery was elegant and modern. A small critique however. Our waitress did not check in as much. We would have ordered more if she came by more often. This is of course attributed to it being a busy Friday. Completely reasonable. Overall will come again.
Tortillas needed to be warm and soft. Service could be better by bringing chips, tortillas quicker so that food does not get cold while waiting
The good: We came for a date night on a Thursday night in December, and it was decorated so well for Christmas and there was even a SANTA CLAUS just hanging out and saying hi to people. All the staff was incredibly friendly. The ambiance is beautiful. The food came quickly, it was easy to order on toasttab, and it's a great menu for vegetarians.
The not so good:
To be honest, the food was just okay. It would be a great place to get lunch but for the ambiance and how expensive it is, the food just falls a little short. I'm not saying it's bad - overall it was great food. Just sort of unimpressive, you know? I got the enchilada with just veggies and mole sauce and my partner got the red enchiladas with pork. I tasted his red sauce - super underwhelming. My mole was decent. The dessert we got, churros and ice cream, was pretty standard. Tasty but just not amazing. My rum cocktail was very tasty. The major thing that irked us so much - this is going to sound silly, but - the food came out WAY TOO FAST. I know, that sounds weird but it just felt really rushed. I was also annoyed at the clientele. People using a big selfie light at the bar to take a photo, kids watching iPads. Just inappropriate for a restaurant in my opinion. Maybe I'm old-fashioned but I'm 31 and that just takes the romance out of a fun night out. It's just not as classy as it looks.
Overall it was great, decidedly 4 stars. Perfect for lunch!
The food and service for our large party for a retirement celebration was fantastic. We had a great time. Thanks Zocalo!
