Beautiful, fun, and delicious!
It was a nice evening. They made sure our drinks were filled and everything was okay. Their service was amazing and great food!
The food is always superb. The service depends. On Valentine's day it wasn't completely full but it was extraordinarily loud and we only saw our waitress to take order and bring check. Oh and once in between in passing. I still love Zocalos for the food and decor. It's best to go when it's not a holiday if want a more sophisticated environment.
Ceviche was awesome........service was quick with the food (almost too quick :). Great night.
The staff was attentive did their jobs wonderfully. Happy hour and had wonderful selections at a great price. BlackBerry mosquito was absolutely delicious. One can tell a lot of work goes into the food drinks at your establishment. I will definitely come back again. Also I wanted to mention that this is a wonderful setting and a lot of thought went into the two patios as well. I really enjoyed my dinner there.
It was a very loud atmosphere, and my silverware was dirty which was a bummer, also, the valet charged me $8 to back my car up like 200-300 ft only to rehand me my keys, which I thought was ridiculous and overboard
Birthday so many birthdays. It was way loud but the meal was as always delicious
We had a nice evening until one of the employees came over to our table and threw down a bag that was meant for another table. She began a confrontation which eventually led to her being physically restrained by other staff members and taken to a back room. Management came over and did absolutely nothing to insure us it wouldn’t happen again. The manager would only tell us what a great employee she was.
A very disappointing meal at a restaurant that normally delivers. The service this night was quite poor. Four diners in our party, and three food orders were wrong and the food was barely warm. The server thunked our orders down in front of us with an attitude like a teenager that had just been grounded for the weekend. Follow up from the waiter was spotty. I hope this was just an off-night as Zocalo is usually a very good song experience.
Excellent food and just the right amount of interjection for service, allowing for easy exchange of business information with a potential client. Can’t go wrong with the mole!
I've gone to Zocalo many, many times and have always enjoyed myself. The food was fresh and the ambiance was terrific. I went this week and had an entirely different experience. Chips and salsa were not offered. Our orders were taken and the food arrived two minutes. later. The rice was cold and we knew that the food was probably all lined up in the back and simply thrown on to plates. It was so disappointing as I brought a group from Ireland and had raved about the cuisine. Our waiter was nice and friendly but there wasn't a minute to even settle in as the food arrived so quickly and did not taste fresh in the least. We felt rush and were in and out in an hour. Extremely disappointing.
We ordered three Baja Fish Taco plates.
All were soggy and cold. Worst food we have had in a long time.
I booked the reservation three weeks ago for a table of six and we were put at the worse table in the Restaurant. The Hostess said next time I need to be specific and ask for a booth. We won't be back here again. However, our waitress was great!!
Birthday Dinner for my husband.
No special effort was made for the B-Day guy but that was fine. They did reserve a booth as I had requested which was great. Food as usual was great! We love it!
The noise level at Mid-Town Zocalo is always very high and makes talking difficult to say the least.
Can’t wait for the new location in Folsom to open.
We had a large party and the service was friendly and quick.
Great food, great service, but too loud for my tastes.
The food was really amazing! And very very generous portions. The service was great, friendly and efficient. They kept bringing baskets of warm corn chips with salsa and a yummy black bean dip. The food came fast even though they were very busy. Very highly recommend the BAJA FISH TACOS and the TACOS DE CAZUELA. Absolutely delicious! The only weak disk was the VEGGIE BōL ... way too much raw Kale.
Very pleasant atmosphere, great food, reasonable price
bday:) great! Epic awesome!!!
Really loud bar like atmosphere. Bad service from plate/meal server.
Great atmosphere. Friendly, attentive service. Tasty food.
My new favorite is the Blackberry Margarita!!!!
Great food and service, would highly recommend it. Definitely make reservations though cause it gets really busy.
Excellent and delicious Mexican food! Guacamole very tasty and fresh!
Outstanding food and service. Restaurant was noisy enough that it was hard to hear one another speaking some of the time in our group of 4. This was at the dinner rush though so easily forgiven. Great location for taking a walk around midtown after a great meal too. Excellent margaritas!
Accidentally got to restaurant in time for happy hour. Good ale toon including drinks. Delicious!
Our first time at Zocalo with a party of 5 and we were disappointed. The waitress was slow and did not appear to be attentive. We were served coffee and tea, but no spoons. The table needed sugar and it took over five minutes to have it placed on our table, by then our beverages were lukewarm. The pozole was lukewarm and needed to be reheated. We never received spoons. The food was adequate but not as tasty as it could have been. Overall we were not impressed and will not return.
However, we did dine at the Howe location on the Cinco de Mayo last year and it was the opposite experience.
Food amazing, service ehh. No where to really stand waiting for your table (even tho we had a reservation). We felt as if we were rushed to kick us out to make room for the next table.
The worst part of the restaurant is its noise lever. What you have in the check off list as "energetic" I would rate "unbearable" --at least 78 decibels inside the restaurant. We were about to leave because of the noise level when the hostess suggested outside, which indeed was quieter. There were outdoor heaters and the temperature was comfortable although this is January. The noise level inside would have stifled any meaningful conversation.
One of my favorite places downtown. Beautiful building decorated amazingly with great service!
Zocalo never ceases to please me in every way. The staff is very courteous, hospitable and pleasane. The food is exquisite. The service is always superb!. It's always a pleasurable experience going there.
We took a friend from out of town to dinner. When we walked in the door the noise was overwhelming. Even though the evening was on the cold side we opted for outdoor seating. With the heaters on it was warm enough and we could converse without shouting. Even with the noise Zocalo is worth the trouble because the food is excellent reasonably priced and the service is always good and the servers are happy and helpful.
I Love Zocalo, but the noise level on a friday night makes it nearly impossible to have a conversation at a table bigger than 2 people.
Really good food here! It's pretty noisy and the service getting the check was a tad slow, but food was out promptly.
Beautiful rooms, great service. Food was great!
The food and service is good however it’s very loud! I enjoy background music but everyone seem to be yelling because the was so music and our group really couldn’t enjoy a conversation during dinner. I would recommend lowering the music and not dimming the lights so much. I like to see my food.
Our server was exceptional! Baja Fish tacos and Enchilada was very good. Cant wait to go back at Zocalo’s
We were pleasantly surprised by Zocalo Midtown - everything was really delicious! We had eaten at their East Sac location some months ago and felt it was so-so, hence our surprise at the quality of the food at the midtown location. We had the guacamole appetizer served with a warm bean dip (that was REALLY yummy) and a very good salsa; the guac was good too. My partner had enchiladas mole, and we both thought the mole was out of this world. The chicken in the enchiladas was tender. I had the salmon "bol" (bowl), which is more of a salad but wonderful and healthy (included baby kale, brown rice, whole beans, etc). The room is a bit noisy on a Friday night but we were able to carry on a conversation. Definitely recommend this place.
While food and service was good (and I know it was new year's eve), the mariachi band was so loud that we could not hear each other talk for the majority of our dinner. We could have done without the band or perhaps the band not parked right next to our table for over 30 minutes.
It was great! We celebrated my boyfriend’s birthday with his friends from out of town and they were impressed with our choice!
