The food was so-so. They seem to prefer quantity over quality. I found the food lacking in flavor and over salted. It’s hard to assess service since it is minimal. All ordering is done on one’s phone, including payment. So all the staff have to do is bring the food and drinks.
Super chill environment, friendly staff, and bomb food!
Delicious food!
It was a great night, service and food very good ! Thanks
We reserved a table for 4:45 showed up 15 minutes before and they seated us right away. Even tho everything is done thru your phone ordering wise the waiting staff is still very helpful. Great place definitely will be back soon!
We loved Zocalo, but since the pandemic their food quality has greatly declined. I ordered takeout a couple of times that was mediocre at best. So we thought we would dine in last weekend, and my husband had to send his steak back, and the rest of us just wasted our food and money because we didn’t want to be rude and return everything. Margaritas were good, but everything else was unfortunately terrible. We won’t be retuning:(
The atmosphere was relaxing and the food was very good.
Excellent food and service. Steak quesadilla was the best ever.
Waitress wonderful feel like home the food I love it great place to seat outside
Sadly, it was not a good experience. The menu (expectedly) was via QR code, however they also expected you to order and pay via the web. Making the server simply a food delivery person. Seriously, if I were a professional server I would be more than offended. If I wanted to order and pay on my phone I would have gone to chilies or Red Robin. The food was mediocre and their red sauce for the enchiladas tased more like spaghetti sauce. The whole experience was underwhelming and a bit off putting. If you are looking for good Mexican food with an upscale twist... this is not the place. Sorry.
Food quality was average to disappointing. All preceding done on App via QR code. Service was subpar, with the exception of the hostess, who was very friendly and accommodating. I was looking forward to checking the place out. I like the ambience and setting inside and outside. I was just disappointed in the food and felt it was overpriced for the taste, quantity and value.
Expected a lot more with this place. The food was simple no taste.
Ditch the order/pay through your phone situation, don’t serve old guacamole, don’t bring a margarita out at the end and claim one of them wasn’t ordered via your online menu, and maybe we’ll return all the time like we used to. Felt like I was ordering doordash to my table and the kicker was the server making a fuss about having to input a drink order herself. I asked for my bill twice only to find out they expect me to pay through their website. No thanks, I’m at a restaurant for a reason. I asked for my bill & paid cash. Not coming here again for a while.
food was not great. guac was excellent. good ambiance overall
Menu extremely limited
Came here with my fiancé. Wanted something healthy but ditched that quickly when we realized it was happy hour.
Ricardo the manager was astounding. I’m not trying to be corny but in the car on the way home, I had tears in my eyes because I really felt how much the staff cared for their job here and so many people, after being locked up for a year, many are still SO BLIND*** to how hard industry people work to make people happy and enjoy their experience.
I truly felt so blessed to experience dinner here. Ricardo, the bartenders, the bar manager, the bussers, and runners, were all busting their butts to ensure the restaurant excelled. I see y’all. Food was fantastic as always.
Great job everyone 👏
Yummy! Great place for brunch! Fun to people watch and hang out! Did I mention the brunch? Yummy!
Sadly, though I have enjoyed meals in the past at this restaurant, their insistence that Patrons have to use QR codes to see food options and supply no paper menus, ruined what was supposed to be a joyful reunion into a long and arduous affair lasting two and a half hours instead of an hour and a half. We all left with a very bad taste in our mouths (except for our sweet, patient and accommodating waiter who went out of his way to try and assist us. But, with Covid still prevalent, do we really want to have our waiters touching our cell phones?)
It took close to 35 minutes to order our food, a long wait before things arrived, enchiladas were cold, the drinks were watered down and tasteless. It seemed that the quality of everything was sadly lacking. I do understand that restaurants are just gearing back up and things may not be working as well as they usually do.
No excuse, though, for forcing people to use QR codes is just plain, bad business. I have never before been refused a paper menu where codes are used regularly, so what’s up with the Zocalo model???
Think about you older citizens, some with older, out-dated phones, trying to make sense of a menu with the sun beating down (and not being able to see screens that clearly in the glare) that are easily left feeling awkward, unsupported and discarded
like old antiques!
Management needs to reconsider this thoughtless policy but perhaps you are too hip, slick and cool for anyone over 60 to been seen dining in your establishment?
The service was extremely slow and we felt what we ordered was definitely forgotten especially the churros. Over hyped place. Great ambience for sure but not the service not the food
We love the ambiance as well as the excellent service we receive. Everyone who works there is professional and friendly. We love the happy hour deals and they deliver the food super fast.
We enjoyed the outdoor seating. Everything was nice.
Was comfortable, service was good. Food was tasty. We go there a lot.
The made my Mom’s birthday special without me even having to ask. Surprised her with churros and ice cream!
Birthday for our son. Great overall experience
Nice outdoor space - food delicious - music a little loud for intimate conversation.
I had indoor reservations but changed to outdoor when the hostess said she would be able to get us a good outdoor table. We had excellent service from everyone. Food was very good but kind of on the pricey side. Overall I really like Zocalo and will go back again.
I ordered cheese enchiladas. A bit disappointing. The cheese was sparse and I had to use a knife to cut them. Way to tough! Please stuff more warm, creamy cheese into the cheese enchiladas! The rest of the plate was great. Particularly the cilantro rice. Love it!
Music was very very loud
I love the big outdoor dining. Great food and great service. I will definitely go again. Was a beautiful day too.
The food was awful. Drinks were gross. Cups and silverware were dirty. Extremely over prices
They've done a great job with expanding outdoor seating and utilizing online ordering from table. The service was extraordinary! Food and drinks were coming out within 1-2 minutes of order.
outside setup is great. the music was a bit loud and, since we were the only diners there, we asked the staff if it could be turned down just a bit. They replied that they don't get to control the volume, which was disappointing. But the food was good and the service was otherwise very attentive.
Food was good. Mojitos and Margaritas could have been better.
We were really excited to try Zocalo for the first time and I was very disappointed. First the customer service aspect was lost when you have to order online and pay online. I’m not even sure who our server was because different people came by all the time.
The veggie taco bowl showed on the menu fajita veggies yet came out with Chinese veggies, I guess. Basically kale and water chestnuts.
The margaritas were great so if I ever came back it would be for the atmosphere and margarita, which I can get somewhere else where the service wasn’t a mess and the food that’s on the menu is actually what you get.
My daughter and I didn’t hardly eat our food.
Great place, service is spotty but we had a great brunch.
Have eaten here a number of times and usually great but Easter Sunday was not our best meal there. Many mixups on orders, cold food and using app to order was confusing because menu on paper was not exact to app.I will try again and they did take drinks and 1 item off bill.Usually very good but like I said Easter Sunday was not best experience.Maybe COVID interfered with the experience.
Easter was great. They had a bunny giving kids eggs. So fun.
The service was outstanding but our food came out completely wrong.
Guacamole no cilantro (I am allergic) ... with cilantro
Queso Fundido and carnitas, came with chorizo
Burrito bowl, oops... they forgot the meat! It was a kind of bean soup.
I live next door, I wish it would be better :(
With all the Covid issues, they did a really good job... food, service were both outstanding
Again ordering the mail online is not a good idea. We need an experienced server to do that. We were charged for 3 meals even though there were just 2 of us. Ordered online some chopped cilantro whxih nver came and food tended to be bland. The place sis packed both inside and out so they are appealing to a clientele that does not care obviously . We have been going to this restaurant since it first opened but will not be rushing back, very disappointing.
