Baja Fish Tacos
Don't miss our most popular tacos. Beer battered, with chipotle aioli, pico de gallo, and topped with fresh repollo
I understand you have to order online and servers deliver but they appeared bothered or annoyed when we asked questions about ordering online. Everyone food was delivered a vastly different times despite this being the same table meaning cold food for those that waited as we should. Servers barely check on it all all for items as basic as water. We were seated far from a heater and we’re reminded they are limited so you can’t move them at all so we froze quite a bit. I understand it’s covid but they could do a lot better.
It is great that local restaurants are braving the COVID-19 pandemic and still serving outside. It was a great evening for my husband and I to get a break from the kids! Dinner was great as were the drinks and the everything was ordered online!
Amazing as always even in these hard times ! Ricardo was our server and was so accommodating and helpful! The outside seating was amazing and very nice and clean !
Food was very good as was the service. My only complaint was that the food was not hot when it arrived at the table.
I had a great meal with friendly service. The web-based ordering system was easy to figure out and the food was served in record time. It tasted great, too!
I like how you could order on the app they have and the server brings your food and drinks . The food wasn’t as good as it usually is so that was disappointing
This is a lovely restaurant with ample outdoor seating. I am not a big fan of their food, but their cocktails are always nice.
Very disappointing meal. I used to live in Sacramento and moved to LA and raves about this restaurant so when I came back into town to visit my mother, i had to bring my partner. Full of excitement, my bf and i arrived at our reservation at 8pm and sat outside. Ambiance was perfect, night was a little chilly but the heat lamps made the night perfect. Server and host was friendly. Then the night went downhill quickly. In LA, i couldn’t stop talking about their cochinita pabil. Zocalo even inspired me to learn and cook this dish for myself. I was obsessed. Anyway, my boyfriend decided on a small bowl of pozole and of course, i had to have the Cochinita Pabil. The QR menu was convenient considering the safety precautions of covid. I got my food first, the cilantro lime rice, was clumped together, not it’s usual fluffiness but that’s ok. Still enjoyed the rice. The actual pork of the plate is was not it’s usually tenderness. It was cold and it didn’t break easily with my fork. Still, i made excuses and still talked the plate up. I needed Zocalo to live up to the hype to my boyfriend. I played it cool and kept insisting that this restaurant was the best in Sacramento. After a few minutes of receiving my plate, my bf’s pozole arrived. He garnished it with the cilantro and took a big spoonful into his mouth expecting the soup to be piping hot after all its pozole and its winter. He looked at me with sadness and said “it’s cold.” I put the spoon to my mouth and sure enough it was cold. The bowl was also cold. I finally gave in to the disappointment and embarrassingly asked a bus boy to take the soup back because it was cold. He took his bowl and after 15 minutes our server came back with another bowl. As soon as he received the bowl, he took another spoonful and it was STILL cold!! We flagged down our server and he took the bowl without an apology or sympathy. I was embarrassed. Im still sitting in embarrassment. Our server never charged us for the two bowl of soup
My favorite place to eat in Sacramento. You must try the fish tacos.
First time trying Zocalo and i loved the food and the vibe. Food portions are worth the price! The outdoor dinning on the street was a new but good experience for me. Amazing food (chicken+veggie burrito and Salmon bowl) and service. Would definitely go back and try more of their food.
A nice place to have lunch and relax
Efficient service and reasonably priced good food.
It was good to be back! Clean, yummy, and really good service.
With the ordering app all the food came out at the same time. We wanted the appetizers to come out 1st. Some of the food was cold.
It was mainly patio dining but they were able to find a table for us inside which was very appreciated! We were there for happy hour so was able to take advantage of that. They have a lot of choices for their happy hour menu. The food was great..the veggie quesadilla was our favorite. They loaded it with veggies which added so much flavor. The fish and shrimp tacos were good but had too much sauce/slaw which overpowered the flavor. They have a nifty online ordering system but make sure to get familiar with it. Even if you ask to order with the server, they’ll encourage you to use the online ordering. Very understandable during covid but would still like some sort of interaction with the server.
Kudos to Zocalo for staying open and being creative. Live their food and in. It also times they have a great ambiance.
Great service! Outside seating. Always good, healthy food.
Always good food and service! Perfect date night or a place to spend time with friends.
The food, as usual was lovely. The ambiance and service was wonderful.
Waited for over 1.5 hours. People without reservation were being sat ahead of us. Even saw one gentlemen slip 40$ To the hostess to sit him down early which they did. Horrible first time experience.
It was great.
Birthday party for 65 year old dad
Always a great experience!
It is always a pleasure going to Zocalo. Beautifully decorated and designed and the service is consistently stellar. They are ready to accommodate and happy to serve you. Definitely a great place to take your family or go with friends.
Amazing food, friendly and courteous staff. Atmosphere is wonderful. I love how they have accommodated for social distancing. Even with a full restaurant, all services were running smoothly and efficiently. Will def be back!
Absolutely love this Restaurant. Food was Great & Service is Exceptional!
Good flavor, giant portions. Food is always fantastic. The drinks on the other hand are not great, too price for waters down and really bad timing. We were almost done with our dinner by the time the drinks
Food was fantastic! Service has dropped since you order from the app now.
We had a reservation and were seated immediately. Service was on point with friendly, helpful staff. Food was great and the adult beverages were poured to perfection.
I think the restaurant/server was having an off night - the service was slow and the food was not on par with my normal experiences there.
Great drinks. Great food. Generous portions. Friendly and prompt service.
A mainstay on my list of Sacramento favorites for good reason.
Service at the bar was great. Didn’t have a server at our table. Everything done through app on your phone but that’s not helpful when you need a refill on your drink or if you have questions about the menu.
Our hostess was less than helpful but the severs and food were excellent!
Food was good but app based ordering experience was not pleasant for a large party. Also strange that there is only options of 18, 20, and 25% to tip when we literally didn’t have a server
(You place order through app).
I am given the choice of the highest noise level being "energetic" on Open Table's survey.
This was beyond "energetic." It was impossible to hear my dining partners across the table from me. I won't stop people from coming to this popular restaurant, but wow what people will put up with to give the illusion of fun. Fun is not blasting music while you're having a social dinner.
Good food great service, decent pandemic regulation
Great patio. Good drinks. Upscale Mexican cuisine.
