In a city famous for its great restaurants, Zacatlan still stands out as exceptional. We were seated on a little outdoor patio that was sheltered enough and heated with a lamp so that we were completely comfortable on a chilly and windy day. The waiter was the right amount of attentive without hovering. Our central Mexican dishes were extraordinarily good, with mixtures of ingredients novel to us and beautifully presented. In the current environment of a crazy and aloof world, our hour or so at Zacatlan felt like a welcome respite. We worry for them in their location a few blocks away from the busiest restaurant scene, but other diners slowly came and went while we were there. Well worth finding them.
Fantastico! Get out of your Covid hut to take a virtual trip to the warmth (culinary and social) of Mexico. Zacatlán's enclosed and heated patio is small and simple, and there are only a couple of 2-tops out front in the sun, but whatever the weather—you will feel warmed. The quality and sophistication of our meal matched, or surpassed, extraordinary ones we've enjoyed in the top restaurants of Guadalajara and Mexico CIty (DF). Plus, here you can dine before 10pm, and get hours of enjoyment after your meal.
The two of us shared the extraordinary Cochinita Pibil—a perfect sampling of the chef's talents. To ensure we wouldn't go hungry, we'd also ordered a side of the tortilla chips & guacamole, which turned out to the best—and most generous—we've ever had (and we've faced a lot of chips and avocados arriving on the table!).
We enjoyed good service, fantastic food, and a comfortable 'room'. Zacatlán is A+, definitely worth your trip—esp. now, out into our masked, socially-distanced world.
Service was sporadic even though they had plenty of servers. We had to ask for silver ware and the for napkins, both of which came after our meals were on the table. The rice served was cold, not even room temp.
Wow..... One of the best restaurants in Santa Fe!
Will be back over, over and over again
Great chef who has a learned how to give Mexican food a little twist.
The service is refreshingly friendly and attentive.
You will not be disappointed.
Amazing and unique steak tacos, flautas, and lamb shank barbacoa. Excellent service. Zacatlan is unique and the food delicious. Our family felt safe eating on the outside patio. Tables are well spaced and the restaurant is taking full precautions including a temp check.
Wonderful dinner, makes everyday feel like a celebration!!!
Our light eater found the eggs Benedict with smoked salmon and ham the best so far in Santa Fe. Our hearty eater found the chicken with mole the best ever outside of Merida. And every cup of coffee was fresh and excellent. Highly recommended.
Brunch on Sunday was delicious, including the two desserts we polished off. Very charming patio, and great service too!
Food and service was excellent! We had the chips and guacamole with the breakfast burrito. All of it was very yummy. Sat on the patio outside which was super cute. Would definitely go back.
Slow service
Food was delicious and exquisitely prepared. All servers were eager to please and we had an amazing time. Honestly- if go before Nov 10 2020 when they get their liquor license it will be a great value, after that, I expect it will be booked solid.
Simply fantastic! We ordered a variety of items on the menu and each and every item was delicious! Now one of our top 5 restaurants in Santa Fe!
We sat on the patio for COVID reasons, and it was a lovely patio. The steak tacos were fantastic and were out favorite food item from our whole trip to Santa Fe. We also loved the fish tacos. Would highly recommend!
We had a lovely brunch experience at Zacatlan. They do not have a liquor license so we couldn't have any bubbly with our eggs, but the coffee was delicious!
Food is incredible- great value for the price. Large portions. Great service and quick. Just keep in mind they do not have their liquor license. Not sure if they would allow BYOB or not.
The food was amazing
Absolutely outstanding! A culinary delight and look forward to returning.
Great find! The food was excellent, so freshly prepared and tasty. Great service too!
Zacatlan is the dream-come-true of Chef Eduardo Rodriguez, who decided to open his own having other career alternatives in a challenging time like 2020!
The food is true to his culinary roots and executed brilliantly. Each dish our table tried wowed our guest, and you could taste the love with which it was made.
Delicious brunch food, perfectly cooked. The outside dining is lovely and the service was friendly and timely. There are some unique menu options that I’m eager to chose. My husband and I are definitely going to be regulars and are eager to return for dinner
My neighbors told me about this place and I am glad I finally got around to trying it. Our lunch/brunch was amazing. The mole chilequillas was the best in town. I dont like my mole too sweet or chocolatey. This one is smokey and tasty. The 4 fish tacos (4!) were delicious too. Do not hesitate to go. I will return. Hope they get a alcohol license soon!
Our first visit to Zacatlan. We found the interior a bit stark but colorful. The steak tacos were the best we have had in Santa Fe and the squash blossoms were to die for. Excellent lemonade - not too sweet - perfect. We will be back for sure!
Wow!! Amazing food and service. I am so happy for Eduardo and his crew, congratulatuins!! If you really want to have a taste of refined Mexican Food, come to Zacatlan everything is fresh and perfectly made.
We really enjoyed our evening in this little out-of-the-way restaurant. Good to see that they have recently put a sign on the nearest busy street to help lead people to them. The menu was creative. The ingredients and preparation were excellent. The wait staff was just the right mix of helpful, attentive, and invisible when not needed. The atmosphere was charming. The price was reasonable for haute cuisine, special occasion dining.
A delicious, authentic meal. Warm and welcoming dinning room. Wonderful service. This was my second visit, will be back again and again.
Delicious food on the patio. No liquor license yet so don’t expect a margarita
Fantastic, 5 Stars - Eduardo has a winner here - we loved the food, atmosphere, staff and great service - our first visit, but definitely not our last! Thank you for providing Santa Fe with such an authentic food experience!
The food and the service were wonderful. The restaurant opened in the middle of Covid, and they’re doing an excellent job ensuring the safety of their patrons. The food was delicious!!! We will definitely go back often.
Truly outstanding food & pleasant, professional service. Highly recommended.
This was our first visit to this fantastic restaurant. We were very pleasantly surprised by how excellent our dinners were. Every item was priced accordingly for Santa Fe. Service was quick and friendly.
An uneven work in progress. An excellent arugula salad was followed by perfectly prepared plump scallops smartly paired with a crab-corn risotto. Unfortunately, the halibut was overcooked and dry and both entrees suffered from the tough, chewy kale. More consistency needed.
What a great new find in Santa Fe with super friendly service and absolutely delicious appetizers and entrees! The scallops were amazing and the sauce and vegetables with the NY Strip were outstanding. Loved the squash blossom and the chips & hot salsa, too! We are locals so are looking forward to returning, especially when they get their liquor license. (For now, easy and fun enough to have a happy hour cocktail and nearby restaurants.)
Hidden gem. The food is outstanding. So glad we went for dinner. Would go back again.
Next level good. My new favorite in Santa Fe.
Chef Eduardo and his team executed a wonderful dinner. All were scrumptious, but the scallops stood out for me. The crab risotto was phenomenal, and complimented the rainbow kale and scallops perfectly. Second reservation has already been made. Best of luck, Chef Eduardo. You deserve nothing but the best of accolades.
Visiting from chicago for the weekend and feeling so lucky to have experienced this gem. Amazing menu, food and staff. Please try the bone marrow, scallops and buffala salad. It is so meticulously prepared.
This restaurant was the highlight of my trip. Food is phenomenal.
Simply awesome. What a great hidden gem. Wish we had a Zacatlan in our hometown. Great food and wonderful service.
We had an absolutely superb meal. We went with another couple and were very excited to try Zacatlan and it did not disappoint. One person had the scallops and another the fish dish (halibut?) and both were very happy with their choices. There two orders of the tacos (fish) and they were the best i have ever had. None of the heavy battered fried stuff! We all ordered either salads or the bone marrow app and there were no complaints. The apps were large portions as were the main courses. Everything was excellent and we look forward to going back after they get their liquor license. Hopefully soon!! I can't wait to try their margs!!
Great spot in Santa Fe - highly recommend the bone marrow - perfect!!
No alcohol license yet but dinner was creative and delicious.
