Too bad it’s closing, enjoyed the quality of the food.
I love the food at Yauatcha! I have only been able to eat here a few times but each time the food I try is amazing and this restaurant tops my list of my favorite restaurants so I'm heartbroken that it will be closing! This time our favorites were the Prawn & Crispy Beancurd Cheung Fun, Black Truffle Roasted Duck (so delicious!) and of course you need to save room for the gorgeous and delicious desserts. We had the Raspberry Delice and the Red Fruits Mascarpone. I have no reason to go to Houston but once this closes, I guess will have to make a trip to Houston to eat at Yauatcha again. I hope that they will reconsider and open up at another location in Honolulu!
Love the food at Yauatcha. Wish they weren’t closing. Hope it can find a new location so locals and tourists can enjoy the magnificent food offerings.
excellent service. our server knew the dishes in detail! she even knew her drink choices! the food was very tasty and delicious!
I am visiting Yauatcha as much as I can before it closes Aug. 31. I still don't understand why it is being closed when Herringbone, which has inferior food, remains open. Yauatcha is one of a kind in Honolulu's dining scene, and its closure is a real loss. I guess the business heads didn't do good math to begin with. It seems incredible to invest millions into the space and give it only 18 months to find its footing. I guess they don't have the smarts of their restaurants' original conceptualizers like Alan Yau. That said, even with the restaurant's demise looming the Yauatcha staff—front of the house and in the kitchen—are able to maintain quality. The contemporary Chinese food is creative and crowd pleasing. The bar turns out excellent cocktails. I will miss Yauatcha so much.
Sorry yauatcha is closing at the end of the month. Good food, cocktails, atmosphere, service.
This place is closing at the end of August so they don't care about opening up during lunch hour even though they took my reservation. It's a good thing they are closing because I wouldn't recommend anyone going to dine there.
I made reservations through Open Table. Open Table sent me a reminder that morning. However, when my party and I arrived for our luncheon, there was a sign on the door, saying that the restaurant had a problem with their kitchen so they were closed for lunch. I don't understand why the restaurant did not ask Open Table to inform me of the closure.
The restaurant was closed due to "Kitchen Issues". Would have been nice to have been told beforehand. Went to Roy's restaurant next door instead. It was OK but disappointing.
Great ambiance and really good cocktails. Love he food too. Will miss them when they close.
The hostesses weren’t helpful. We brought in a cake and asked them to put it in the fridge. By the time the cake was served it was melting because they neglected to do so. They also just weren’t very friendly or welcoming. Our server was ok but it took forever to get our drinks and he served one old fashion with ash in it.
Good Chinese food, but not extraordinary, especially for the prices charged. We sat at the bar, and the bartenders weren’t conversive like most; food delivered without any explanation about preparation or how it is special. Folks, Chinese food is known to be tasty and inexpensive, so if you want to charge more, get the wait staff to showcase the uniqueness of the cuisine. I don’t mind spending more $ for an extraordinary experince... No surprise the Hawaii Yauatcha is closing at end of August. Many “one-time” tourists than local patrons that could potentially be repeat customers. The $12 ramen restaurant nearby was FULL!!!
Our server, Leonard, was top notch! We went with his recommendations & he did not fail. The food was terrific!
We love your restaurant and are VERY disappointed that you are closing!
Well prepared, well presented, but quite pricey for dim sum. The menu is difficult to read, very light print and relatively small font, with minimal if any explanation of what each item is.
Wonderful food and great service. Aromatic duck with pancakes, crispy duck salad, shrimp gai lan cheung fun are simply delicious
Awesome all around!
Good dim sum, creative food and drink options, the pumpkin and venison pastries were really good, along with the xiao long bao. The smoke and coconut drink was also really tasty and interesting.
I will definitely miss this restaurant. The service, atmosphere and most importantly, the food was exceptional. We don’t have a Chinese restaurant in Hawaii that takes it up another notch...
Dim sum was like nothing I’ve ever had. Get the bean curd crispy shrimp look fun, pumpkin duck, venison puff and the duck salad.
Amazing restaurant, great food & service. We will be back!
We only had dim sum for lunch and came away very impressed as to the high quality of the Ingredients! It tasted great and presented very well. Yes it was pricey, but the value was good. Only item that was just so, so was the char siu steamed rice noodles (look fun). The char siu portion was very generous, but really lacked any depth of taste. The steamed, fried and baked dim sum were great. 1st time trying a venison puff and highly recommended. The scallop siu mai topped with tobiko was our absolute fave!
This restaurant is fabulous. Too bad they will be closing on August 31.
I really like the Chinese food at Yauatcha. It’s a fusion between Chinese and French. It’s different but so delicious!
Yauatcha maintains a very high level of quality and flavor of the food is very consistent. We love the aromatic duck with pancakes, crispy duck salad, kalo puffs, and shrimp gai lan cheung fun. Service is always exceptional. We are sad to hear that this Michellin restaurant will be closing at the end of August. Hawaii will be at a great loss since we were only one of two states in the US to have had the honor of having a restaurant of this caliber. Houston has the only other Yauatcha in the US.
Love Yauatcha's food. Their dimsum is more expensive than other restaurants, but different and much more delicious! I'm sad that they'll be closing at the end of August. 😔
Excellent food. Very unique and flavorful. Great service too.
Fantastic food and service! Great yum cha and also tea selection. Must try the rice rolls and turnip cake
the food was good: consistent taste and beautiful presentation. too bad that it will be closing soon..
Food is phenomenal but very expensive if you decide not to go during happy hour. Servers had a hard time explaining dishes and needed to be told multiple times that we didn’t get some of the dishes we ordered. Took about an hour to receive and pay our tab.
Great dim sum ever in my life
Fantastic experience! Beautiful food, wonderful service, one of the real high end restaurants in Waikiki. Have good respect for the female bartered who working outdoor area, she truly love her job!
Been back 5 times! I must say if you like dim sum, this is the place for everything. Pricey but then yet, you pay for what you get. Tried many dishes and I feel you can't go wrong on anything so far. I would recommend for any occasion. Parking is so easy at international market place.
