We really enjoyed our trip to Yardbird. It was a sunny afternoon and we sat outside on the sun drenched terrace. It is a very casual, low key venue. Perfect for kids too. The food is very basic, but tasty. I liked the emphasis on cocktails too. Would recommend this place and will definitely be retuning!

Our trip to yardbird was full of expectation. A narrow menu usually means excelling at one thing and in this case, chicken. Nice vibe, nice beers on tap and cocktails looked great. We tried to order the signature/favourites in the dirty (deep fried) chicken and the mac and cheese bites. Both were sold out at 830pm on a Friday. Not a great start. We then ordered the jerk chicken, fries w blue cheese and jalapeño, coleslaw and sweet corn. What arrived unfortunately was barely edible. The chicken was of very poor quality, pinky/brown inside and tasted awful. had 2 bites and left it. It wasn't that warm either. The chips were also luke warm and soggy and covered in some sort of slop (sorry). The corn looked and tasted like it was cooked the prior day and wasnt even properly warmed up. And the coleslaw again, didn't win any awards for freshness and taste. I had 2 bites of chicken, a small number of chips, 1 bite of corn and left it. Neither of us felt well after eating the chicken. I flagged to the server on duty that it wasn't an acceptable standard. Serving bad chicken will make people sick. He was managing a busy delivery schedule and was very pleasant and said he would mention to his manager. I emailed the manager the next day to give feedback. He apologised and invited us back for a free meal. Unfortunately I'm off chicken for a bit after the experience. I hope our experience was a one off. And not going to risk the return until the kitchen sorts itself out....
