   We were a party of 6 and went for the Mother’s Day dinner buffet. 3’4th of my family went for the crab…sadly, it was dry and lacked salt. Our prime rib was just above “raw”, tough and inedible. I complained to the meat server who suggested we try the 2nd roast. It was better but extremely rare. The cook staff needs to learn how to cook meat properly. There was a small selection of dessert which were fine except the soft-serve ice cream was “ice milk”. I wasn’t happy about this. I was also disappointed that no fruits were offered. The buffet offerings were limited. I gave the evening an overall “fair to poor” rating compared to others we’ve had on this island, Oahu, Los Angeles and Las Vegas.

   Went to Friday night buffet and everything was excellent. Staff was very attentive and constantly topping off water and clearing plates. Number of food choices was fantastic and desert selection was fine as well. Also went to Sunday morning breakfast, not the buffet and our 2 selections were great as well, staff was very attentive. Really enjoyed our 2 experiences at WSW and the convenience of being right at the Hilo Hawaiian Hotel. Thank You for an enjoyable time.

   This seafood all-you-can-eat buffet on Sundays requires a serious review of the food offering and its taste quality. Currently not worth the price asked for it.

   When charging $89 per person, a certain quality of food is expected. That quality was not present at the Easter Brunch Buffet. The Prime Rib was unseasoned, tasteless, as was the au jus. The crab was also minimal flavor and had been long frozen or twice frozen, which was evident in the taste and texture of the crab - dry, hard to pull from the shell, with a taste of freezer burn. The roasted pig was also overly dry. The salads were the best part. The butter was not real butter. At $89 a person, there is absolutely no excuse not to serve quality ingredients that are prepared well. The ambiance was nice. We won't do this restaurant again though, unfortunately.
