An overall disappointing experience at Workshop last night. All five in our party (previously fans of the restaurant) don’t plan to return here on future visits to Palm Springs. Our issues: 1)We made reservations two months ago specifically asking not to be seated at the communal table. We were seated there anyway despite our objections and showing the host the original request. 2)The poor quality of appetizers and entrees. The cooking was very sloppy (soggy, undercooked fries) and questionable technique (pickled/sous vide chicken breast). Not sure how you recover from that except just better cooks and oversight. 3)The service was slow. After being seated we weren’t greeted or given water for 10 minutes. The waitress thanked us for being patient but blamed this on “things being really busy.” The point of reservations is to assist restaurants with resource planning, so again this points to poor management.

Great cocktails, great service, cool vibe, excellent food in vibrant Palm Springs. We were a little chilly because the door kept opening and closing to serve the patio tables. Without asking, they brought soft blankets to keep us warm!

Service was okay. The food to price ratio is off. We spent a lot of money and we didn’t get that much food. A few items were just okay including the pizza. It was tiny!!! The desserts were good. Wouldn’t go back based on price and food ratio.

Everything we had was best described as bland. Scallops with grits and spinach had no seasonings. Burger ordered medium came rare and, again, very little in the way of seasonings.

The food was good. However, we arrived about 1/2 early and were steered to a bar about 2 doors down with the promise to text us AND come get us when a table was ready. About 5 minutes after our reservation time, we returned on our own to see about 5-6 empty tables. They obviously forgot about us and had no intention of returning. After that the service was very slow; they didn't fill water unless you flagged down a waiter and took about an hour until we got any food. The food was good and interesting once we got it. This restaurant came recommended so maybe it was off-night.

One of my favorite places in Palm Springs. Amazing architecture, food and service. Have never sat on the patio but that's a cool option as well.

Interesting concept. The food was good. Space is a little noisy. Seated at a large communal table which was fine, except it made it difficult to communicate with our server. Had a real Miami/SoBe feel. Was...... fine.

Disappointed in food, how long it took to get our food, and the whole communal table thing.

This was our first visit. The space is fairly spread out, with outdoor seating and indoor as well, with a large communal table in the middle of the latter, surrounded by booths on the edges. It was cool that night and we were happy to sit in a booth. Be aware that the communal table has stools with no backs if that is a concern for you. That aside, the service was prompt and we shared a variety of small plates, cocktails, and a bottle of wine. We found it all to be wonderful and enjoyed the evening. This is Palm Springs, so be prepared to pay Palm Springs prices for a nice restaurant. Overall, we'd recommend this place and would visit again if in town, more so to enjoy the outdoors on a nice evening.
