Welcome to Wokcano! Located in The Marketplace on Jamboree & El Camino Real, Wokcano is a contemporary Asian Restaurant and Lounge venue featuring fresh sushi and creative hand-made rolls as well as modern riffs on traditional Asian classics. The Wokcano experience offers guests variety and excellence in a tasting tour of perfected Asian gourmet. No longer a nice menu but a printed sheet of paper, that should have told us something was up! New owner or manager maybe? Mmmmm. Bad service, took half an hour for happy hour appetizer to come (only after we asked for it again). One of four entrees did not arrive until we asked where it was after waiting 20 minutes. Long wait for take out box and again long wait for credit card to be picked up. Food was not up to usual standards. We very often order the same dishes so we noticed immediately the differences in taste. We had been coming to Wokcano regularly ever since it opened, but now it is no longer on our list of preferred restaurants. And we are sorry about that as it was one of our favorites.

Love coming here as the food is always great. Unfortunately, the last two to three times the service has been lacking. I had to look for our server so we could place the order and same thing when we had to leave and try and get the check. :(

Dinner started off well. Food was okay. Drinks were fun, but partway thru the meal, we were abandoned by the 3 people that served us. We waited 10 min for our check and finally walked to the front to pay. No one was there. We could have easily left and no one would have known. Finally, one of the men who served us walked up and tried to seat us. He didn’t recognize us at all. We explained we just needed the check and he was kind enough to reduce our bill by 15%. The restaurant is impersonal, like the service and the food. More like a cafeteria. We didn’t feel well as the food settled. This restaurant won’t last.

We love the food but they’ve had challenges with the service staff from the beginning. Huge turnover. In managers as well as wait staff. Last night was especially annoying. We went early to avoid crowds. There were only 3 tables occupied. We ordered an appetizer roll and our two entrees. We waited and waited. Usually the appetizer comes within 10 minutes. Sometimes 5 minutes. At 20 minutes we flagged down a service person (not the one who took our order) and asked if he could please check on the appetizer. About 10 minutes went by and then the appetizer and entrees were brought to our table. I asked if this was a new thing, bringing the appetizer with the entrees and I was told they came out at the same time because the appetizer had to be cooked. Pretty lame answer. Poor food flow management. When we finished eating we waited at least 15 minutes. for someone to come and check on us. Finally we asked for the check and a box to take home what was left of our entrees. We waited. Again. Finally the check and the box came. We paid, left a tip that should have sent a message and noted on the check that the food was excellent but the service was terrible.

Amazing sushi and service. Great for happy hour! Have tons of great options on their happy hour menu. Will definitely be returning.

Dinner was very good. Desserts were delicious. The pear martini was the best. Service was excellent. The only thing I didn’t love was that in the booth we sat in, the bench was too far away from the table.
