We had lunch at the West End Tavern this week. We needed an outdoor table. They accommodated us with a table on the rooftop patio, which was charming. The waitstaff were perfect and the food was marvelous. Starting by getting a reservation turned out to be smart. When we left, there was a long line of folks hoping to get in!
Outside dining in tent on Pearl Street was well heated and warm. Food was delicious - the roasted Brussels sprouts were amazing!
Good service, great food, and nice atmosphere
Loved West End Tavern. The menu is great and it gives everyone a chance to get something they enjoy! Great drink menu also. All in all a great experience.
Great, great service. Not just friendly but super quick. W.E.T. has something figured out in terms of service where everyone else's is really suffering right now. We sat in the outdoor tent that was heated and toasty.
Fish and chips were awesome.
Liked it a lot. Great ambience and comfortable feel. Will be back. Very enjoyable.
We had a great night at West End Tavern. The food was great and service was fantastic. We met the GM Zach who was very kind and personable and even went the extra mile to have us check out some new food options they will be adding to the menu. Cannot wait to go back to one of our favorite places!
Where to start. Our options while booking on Open Table were standard or outdoor. We selected standard and we’re put in a tent where the table was super uneven and inside the tent was windy.
The service was lacking. I’m normally one who forgives this, but we saw a server maybe 3 times over 2 hours.
The food was legitimately the worst barbecue I’ve ever had. The brisket was chewy to the point we had to rip it apart and cut it with a knife and fork. And it still was barely edible. The burnt ends were the worst I’ve ever had and the mac and cheese has almost no flavor. Our friends got the ribs and said they were the saltiest thing they’ve ever eaten.
Pricing was super high for such bad food.
Never again will we even walk by this place.
It was a shame to sit in the tent outside on such a nice day. It was dark, cold, and unable to people watch.
Our server seemed very disinterested in us, and our one order of drinks took at least 20 min to come.
Awesome pregame with server Conor
Fun place. Was very busy, so that is why I am guessing service was very slow.
Server super nice but obviously overwhelmed.
Would go back on a quieter night.
We had a terrific experience. Great food, attentive service, nice ambience. We sat on the roof patio on a cool night but were very comfortable. Family dinner for two had an incredible assortment and everything we needed - and still brought home enough for additional meals. Buffalo wings were some of the best we have ever had. Highly recommend (make reservations first).
Terrible service. Waited 45 minutes for a drink at a table for 7 with an empty bar. We received our food before we received our drinks. Would not recommend.
The rooftop dining space on a sunny day was just lovely and the food was even better. Enjoyed the cornbread skillet immensely, simply to die for, and the mahi mahi sandwich was perfect. They took very good care of us and I think the prices are on the reasonable side compared to many Boulder eateries.
Outstanding service and food. Thank you west end tavern!
Really enjoyed our visit to this very traditional style bar / pub with the "standard", but well prepared, bar menu and a pretty good selection of spirits - especially if you like your bourbons and whiskeys! Beer choice is pretty well selected but this is not a brewery and the wine choice OK too. Service was wonderful and very helpful and very efficient too. Great location, now that Pearl Street has been shut down!! Let's hope it stays that way.
I love this place. The cornbread and burnt ends are my favorite. The food is tasty and on point.
Over cooked ribs burger not well done server was not very informative about food and alleges never refilled waters.
Philly cheesesteak was no longer on the online menu. When we called we were told, yes we still have it. Got there and nope, no Philly. Still enjoyed ourselves.
The place has a coolness factor of being outside in a live part of town. Unfortunately, that is where most of the excitement ended because the food was mediocre. Had the burnt ends and they were severely dry and actually burnt so I think they took the name too literal. Fish and chips were good but for the price, left more to be desired. Kids food was meh. Service was good though so it saved from being trashed but confused at how this place had a 4.5 star rating to date when I booked.
We were there for CU Parent's Weekend with another family and our server was rude and ultimately refused to serve our table. The Manager was also accusatory and rude and I will be telling everyone I can about the horrible experience we had at this once respected and well known restaurant. Never going to even consider going there again.
Our first server left without saying anything. After a while a new server took over our table and did a good job. Problem with the ambience, we were seated near a bus cart and there were a lot of bees at our table.
Overall the experience was still very good.
Amazing brisket sandwiches! Butter cake was to die for!! Brussel sprout appetizer was delicious!! Awesome ambiance! Super crowded because it was family weekend. Expected long waits! Didn’t complain, but manager, Zach still took care of us, he went above and beyond!!!
Always good food!! Pretty cool on rooftop, but propane heaters do the trick. Service was spotty, but only one server on the roof and place was busy. Probably the best barbecue in town!!! Be sure to go early to get some burnt ends!!
Had wings as appetizer. Excellent.
Had a lettuce wedge with blue cheese. Excellent. Had ribs. Meat was tough. BarBQ sauce was ok but not great. Would not get ribs at West End again.
Should have a reservation as West End is very popular. Great Buffalo Chicken sandwich. Terrific selection of beers. Highly recommend.
Good bar food, especially fries. Server was patient with our changing group. Only issue was that diet coke was flat.
Fantastic meal, great ambiance, and very helpful server. Had planned on getting burgers based on the reviews, but couldn't pass up the BBQ.
It took us about 30 minutes to get a drink, and service was very slow and unenthusiastic throughout the evening.food was fine, but they were out of pulled pork and cheesesteak at our 7:30 reservation. Pretty disappointing experience here.
We received a warm welcome and they immediately set to work on finding us the outdoor table we requested on their upper patio deck. Prompt service, excellent cocktails, and good food.
Took some out of town guests here for lunch and a stroll down the Pearl Street Mall.We had a Cobb salad, two orders of burnt ends, the bbq platter, a chicken club sandwich and an order os cooked Brussel sprouts for an appetizer. Everyone loved their food with the cooked Brussel sprouts being especially appreciated. Atmosphere was great with a well stocked bourbon wall behind the bar. Glad I chose this place to eat.
Good burgers. We ordered medium rare and they came out burnt to a crisp. Someone doesn't know how to use a griddle. The bacon was amazing, bread was good. They upcharged us three dollars on a side of aioli. Honestly the food tasted pretty good. We were imagining what it would be like there if they had the food prep and service in order. They'd be a must-visit bar in Boulder. Overall, still recommended for a sandwich and a beer.
Asked for the burger to be well done. It was pink on the middle. Otherwise it tasted good. Just wish it was well done. They forgot the tomato. Service was slow because of being short handed.
Very good delicious food and drinks. Service was very slow not sure if just short staffed that day or something else but not communicated why. Took over an hour to get our food from when we ordered it. Didn’t knock down to much for that as we have been there two other times and it wasn’t bad. Just wish we had been informed and maybe a complimentary drink for the very long wait.
Y'all were great. We would definitely return. Very accomodating.
Good we got a seat right away but once we got our food we knew why it wasn’t busy. None of us liked our dinners and we left our plates full. Our server was pleasant—not her fault. Wouldn’t recommend at all. Fish restaurant next door was very busy—I’d go there next time.
Food was fantastic and service was really good. Especially as restaurants struggle to find employees…give them a break!
Amy - We really appreciate you and this positive review. The struggle is real and we are trying our best. Thank you
We really enjoyed our meal, but the service was not well calibrated. Our server was well meaning. We ordered a large platter and had a hard time getting enough side plates or drinks refilled. It was all very verbal which made our conversation more focused on that than on each other. The finer points of service could be more closely attended to overall.
I took my son and some friends from CU to dinner and they were able to accommodate a last minute change to our group…from 6 to 8, without missing a beat. The service was awesome and the food perfect. The cocktails were great and their whiskey selections are quite extensive. Would definitely recommend anything from the smoker and off the whiskey menu!
Thank you Gino. Glad you all had a nice time.
